Coming to you Live from Disney World!-Take 2 AUG/SEPT WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Wow, Starbucks inside the rooms at the S/D? cool for those that like coffee.

The rooms are huge!! Great photos Paula!

I loved all the photos from 'Ohana since it s the place I'm looking forward to eating at in July. Question- is 'Ohana good with kid alternatives? Not sure if my cousin(6) will like all the food.

We have received a few updates this afternoon from a reporter from our June team who just arrived at Disney World yesterday, disneydreamin247.

She said, "I didn't get photos yesterday but we ate at Pinnochio Village Haus and tried the BBQ chicken flatbread. It was TERRIBLE! I hadn't eaten there in about 6 years and see I hadn't missed anything." ;)

"Last night was 'Ohana and the only pic I have is of my drink.

"A delicious pina colava that was very refreshing after a long, hot day."

"This morning we ordered from room service here at the Polynesian. We got Tonga Toast and my DD got Minnie's French Toast."

Tonga Toast - banana stuffed sourdough bread, rolled in cinnamon sugar and served with Strawberry Compote and sausage

Minnie's French Toast with bacon

"My DD couldn't wait to dig in so her plate wasn't as pretty as mine."

"It was great, just as good as eating it at Kona. Everything was still warm and fresh. And our server was very nice and set everything up beautifully. It was very nice to enjoy it in the comfort of our room without rushing to get dressed and out the door." :thumbsup2

"For lunch today we went to...

Captain Cook's

"I got the Aloha Chicken Sandwich and it was delicious, as usual. My DD got the Kids chicken nuggets, which you can see in the background. They're the same as everywhere else. My friend had the stir-fry noodles but wouldn't let me take a photo."

Dee Dee has sent us her final update from her trip last month, and it's a wonderful parade of snacks.

Leading the parade are...

Zebra Domes from the Mara at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

"Incredibly, this was the first time we had tried zebra domes. They tasted fine, but some of the other snacks we had were higher on my "must do" list."

Next in line are some treats from Epcot's...

Karamell Kuche

Chocolate-Caramel covered rice krispie treat

"This treat has substantial layer of thick chocolate and gooey caramel. What initially started as a rejected kid's pick from several trips back has become one of my favorite snacks at Karamell Kuche. It is delicious!"

Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel

"I always grab a few of these to bring home. They are so good!!"

"These are our "go to" snacks for DS and DD1. We usually bring home a few of these as well."

Chewy Caramel Bar

"This is a favorite snack for DH and I to split. A few years back when Karamell Kuche opened I saw a review of this treat and I couldn't wait to try it. Needless to say, this treat is a "must do" each trip."

Next treats are from Magic Kingdom's...

Main Street Confectionery

Mickey Toffee Hat

Mickey Brownie Hat

"These treats were sadly stale tasting and dry. The looked so cute but unfortunately didn't deliver beyond an exterior cuteness."

M&M and Reese's Pieces Pretzel Stick

"We always get a few of these to split. The kids love them."

And bringing up the rear in this treat parade are some snacks from Magic Kingdom's...

Big Top Treats

But first some display case pics...

"Note the chocolate covered banana and the chocolate nut covered banana in the top photo."

And Dee Dee chose...

Chocolate covered fresh banana

"This was so good, the only note for me would be that I wish the banana would have been a little less ripe. It was a little more soft than I prefer."

And they also had one of these...

Chocolate covered pineapple

"This was my absolute favorite of the chocolate covered fruit. All of the fruit was so refreshing!"

Combo Chocolate covered strawberry, banana, and pineapple spear

"This combo chocolate covered fruit snack was absolutely delicious in the tiny bite I was allowed, as DD1 devoured it."

And then for this final trip update, we get to hear from the youngest member of the family regarding her dining while at Disney World (well, kind of ;) ).

"Here is a picture of little DD's favorite signature restaurant of the trip...

"At five months, she dined for all of her signature meals at the various Baby Care Centers in the parks."

"She rated them as a very enthusiastic two thumbs up!!" :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I loved all the photos from 'Ohana since it s the place I'm looking forward to eating at in July. Question- is 'Ohana good with kid alternatives? Not sure if my cousin(6) will like all the food.

I asked Nicole your question and here was her response:

I didn't ask for Ava, she was actually sleeping for the very beginning of dinner. But when we did the little parade, I noticed other kids with chicken nuggets and fries. They're all so nice, they would probably get anything we could ask for. :)

ohana does have different options for kids.

they brought out rice for emme but there are things like mac & cheese, hot dog, nuggets etc that the CM can bring out for you.

hope that helps! :thumbsup2

Perfect! That's what I figured but I always love hearing other people's actual experiences. This thread is great!

And speaking of Nicole (AvasMommy526), she sent us her final updates from the airport this afternoon. :worried:

She said, "We are sadly heading home today. Twelve days and I still don't feel like that's enough!"

First a coffee update from the Contemporary Resort's coffee bar...

And Nicole chose...

And then Nicole & family had their last Disney meal at DHS'...

She said, "We went back to Hollywood Studios to have lunch at Hollywood & Vine, it was pretty crowded and hot but we made it."

But before her lunch update, first an adult beverage...

Dark Side x 2 (Specialty cocktail available at DHS during Star Wars Weekends)
- Pomegranate Lemonade with Parrot Bay Coconut Rum and Cointreau

And now for their lunch...

"Oso got a little touchy with the bride."

"Some drink options I thought that looked yummy! We didn't partake this time though." ;)

"Some plate pics! We all loved the lobster/shrimp Mac 'n cheese and BBQ chicken. All the salad options were awesome, the fruit was fresh! Mashed potatoes and corn bread were great too. The bread and rolls were nice and soft, and I really enjoyed the parmesan ranch asiago chicken."

"Ava had some chicken nuggets and neon mac 'n cheese, both good!"

"We tried all the desserts. Macaroon, ice cream, blueberry cheesecake, oatmeal cookies, banana cream puff, dried chocolate dipped mango, chocolate dipped marshmallows, carrot cake! Everything was delicious!!!!!"

"And a birthday cupcake and card for the princess!!"

And here's my second favorite picture from Nicole's last update...

What could be better than that, you ask??? :confused3

Well here it is, my favorite... :goodvibes

Where is the Contemporary's coffee bar?!?! I've never seen that!

I found this in an article about this place:

"Contemporary Grounds, a great little coffee bar is tucked between the check-in desks and the Contemporary’s convention center entrance in the first floor lobby."

Since I believe that we have received Nicole's final update, it's now time to say...

Oh, Paula ... you are killing me! I want to go back to Citricos in the worst way but Andrew is wedded to Artist Point. I may have to make an executive decision to overrule him so I can try those amazing looking short ribs!

I wanted to try those short ribs in October. We dined at Citricos 3 times in October and all 3 times the decision of what I was eating was not up to me!! Someday I will get to those stories on my dining review lol.

I'm dining at AP tomorrow ;)

And another reporter from our June team has reported for duty. :thumbsup2

Earl of Sandwich

DisneyMamato4 said, "We are at Disney a day early. Earl of Sandwich is always our opening restaurant."

Here's what they had...

Time to call it a night, but be sure to check back tomorrow for a surprise update from...

That photo of Ava with the cupcake at H&V is precious!

Paula: I WANT those short ribs at Citricos. Your entire meal looks lovely. Argh!!! You are a horrible influence since I was skipping Citricos next trip since we thought we'd take a break and try something else... makes me want to re-work our plans. ;)

EoS is always a favorite so those sandwiches bring a smile to my face!
