WISH Away The Pounds ~ Marvelous May ~ All are WELCOME!

Just checking in before I go for my train...........the scale says 192 this morning, so I can live with that!!! 8 lost in May when I aimed for 7, so still ahead of the game!!

Wow... really quiet here today! And I noticed it was really quiet over the weekend as well. Looks like we are all really busy right now.

Well, two suitcases and two tote bags emptied and ready for the attic. Most of the vacation laundry is either on the clothes line or in the washer or dryer. I have a small pile of bathroom supplies to put away and I can call my unpacking officially done.

Lunch today was a bit of a hodgepodge of the ends of some veggies... trying to use up the veggie I didn't finish before I left (I should have KNOWN the men wouldn't be making spinach salads while I was gone! :rotfl:)... and one last chicken sausage and some eggplant spread on low carb bread. Sadly, I neglected to plan dinners for when I returned, but I did manage to pull out some "emergency" supplies from the freezer plus the men did NOT eat all of the meals I left for them, so last night we had meatloaf and Alexia potato wedges with roasted cauliflower. Tonight is a small sliced ham with some mashed potatoes (for DS and DD), steamed broccoli and mashed carrots and parsnips. After that I MUST hit the store and do some meal planning for the weekend and week ahead.

Off to finish my lunch, put the suitcases in the attic, and make my bed!.......P

Yes, it has been very quiet lately! Sounds like you are getting settled in back home quite well!

Sorry that your first WW session did not go so well, but I am sure things will improve the more you get used to it!

I hate boxing. Wii boxing is HARD!
Just so ya know.

LOL

But I beat DS16!! 4 -3! I am the ultimate fighting champion!!

Well done!!

The Jolly June thread is up, I hope I see all of you there!!

Okay...I've been totally MIA in May. I guess all the end of the year stuff for work/school, my kids activities, and other stuff just adds up. I'm hopping over to June and starting fresh. At least I'm offocially done with work on Tuesday, so I should be able to keep up with the summer months! See you there!

Hi everyone.......been super busy this week as I'm away at conference all next week, had loads of things to finish up at work. Intend to get weighed in the morning so will hopefully post before I leave for my train....not looking forward to the 7.5 hr train journey!!

Hope you have something to keep you busy during the long ride!

Sorry I've not been around much - looking forward to focussing a bit more in June. I have done another 5K since I last posted, now down to 46:05....slight improvement!! Have packed my gym gear and running shoes!!

Great job keeping up with the running!

I think we all know that "too-busy-for-words" time! The thread has been super quiet lately, so I think we are all going through this. End of the school year, vacations, graduations, work loads.... seems like we all have full plates lately. I'll see you in June!

Morning all! Well... the powers-that-be are conspiring against me again. I was in bed early, preparing for a good night's sleep to be ready for today's WW presentation (this time for my territory manager :worried: ) and wouldn't you know I spent the night tossing and turning with a headache. Hopefully it won't make me too out of sorts today.

Kids are out the door early, so I am done with emails and breakfast a bit early, which is good. I need a bit of extra time to review my stuff for today's presentation. I'm just going to pretend that I am talking with you all.... good friends who won't judge and who aren't expecting perfection. I need to find a way to LOSE the nerves and have fun with this. And as long as I remember to hit all of the important points that WW expects, it will be fine. I may even bring along a small note with bullet points to keep handy, in case I lose my way like I did on Wednesday. I'm also going to dress down just a bit. I wore a dress with stockings and small heels on Wednesday and it just didn't feel like "me". Today (especially since they are predicting record highs) I'm going with walking shorts and a blouse with flat shoes. I think it will still fit within the business casual look that WW seems to be looking for.

I had to laugh when DD sat down to dinner last night. The first thing she said was "did you lie to your DIS friends?" She had read my post (she tends to follow along here frequently) about ham and potatoes for dinner, but at the last minute I decided it was too hot for that and we had yogurt parfaits with fruit. So she came to the table with excitement about potatoes and was faced with nonfat yogurt and fruit. That being said, it was a good dinner that we all enjoyed. And DD really knows how to build herself a lovely parfait (lots of fruit, sliced almonds, and a handful of granola over the yogurt sweetened with local honey!). But that will teach her to be stalking her Mom on the DIS!:rotfl:

Hopefully I'll be able to take some time this weekend to share some photos from my trip and touch on the highlights for you all in a mini trip report. DD has some good pictures on FB that she loaded from her iPod while we were there, but I don't know how to share them here.

Off to enjoy one more cup of coffee before I hit the shower! TTYL.............P

Ditto! Hoped to be 180s today but eating off plan last weekend doomed me...down .4 pounds to 192.

Great pics, Michelle! You look absolutely fab-u-lous! :cool2: And happier, too. :goodvibes Keep up the good work!

WOW spectacular progress!!! Keep up the hard work...it is really paying off :)

Happy to hear that your trip was so good!

And I hope your first real meeting went well! :thumbsup2

Michelle, these are great pictures, congratulations on your progress! You have come so far already! :thumbsup2

QOTD:
I have learned that getting back into healthy eating after a vacation is more difficult than I thought even with the best intentions. But I also learned that it can be done!

Bigsis!!!!

BEAUTIFUL!!!

Look at the transformation!! That is incredible!! You look further than just halfway to goal!! Your clothes look amazing on you and love the smile!! Wonderful way to get us inspired to stay healthy!! :)

Tomorrow is weigh day, I might just see 180s!! But, Memorial Day weekend was 2 pieces of birthday cake, bbq, cheeseburgers/french fries...I had TWO cheat days...so if I do see it, it will be a huge blessing!! I did manage to do my 5k training, ran for 1/4th of it on the real road instead of the treadmill since I was out of town, and oh did my thighs and front shins HURT!! I did not do my 5k training yesterday to give them more time to stop swelling..do NOT want muscle swelling for my weigh in!! :) I have continued daily Ripped workouts...and will get in a 2-3 mile walk in later today.

My first Disney movie I remember seeing was probably Mary Poppins, I think that or 101 Dalmations rerelease in the 1970s...Song of the South as well...fun times! :)

THANKS!!

Happy Thursday morning everyone!

I had started to type up some replies last night, but got pulled away from the computer and didn't make it back... and of course the page got closed and I lost what I had typed.... so I am starting fresh here!

Thanks for ALL of the well wishes and thought sent my way during my Disney trip. It was SO MUCH FUN and so exhausting!! We did have a few tense moments between DD and myself due to our sheer exhaustion... and the crowds and heat were more intense than I had anticipated, so it definitely changed up our usual park touring style. But it was still an amazing trip and it is so much fun to say that we were THERE during the Monstrous Summer 24 hour event!

I'll share a few photos after they are all uploaded. We want to sit together over the weekend and upload them and "relive" our trip together!

Due to be HOT here over the next few days, after a rainy cool holiday weekend, so hopefully I can get outside during the cooler morning hours to get some yard work done. When it gets too hot I'll pop inside and do housework with the fans blowing! The pool is open and sparkling and ready for swimming, thanks to DH's work on it over the past many weeks... so maybe we will even enjoy a swim this weekend.

I'll be honest and tell you all that my WW presentation yesterday was less than spectacular. I think my nerves and being very overtired got the better of me and.... well, it was just a HOT MESS.:rolleyes2 Frustrating because I know I am capable of better. That being said, I did get an overall assessment of competent and I did tell her I felt that I would be able to present to my territory manager tomorrow. So today I will probably find a local meeting to attend and do some reading, reviewing, and practicing.

I am finding it harder than usual to get back in the wagon, food-wise, since returning. Not any big disaster, but I was lax in journaling my food yesterday and I probably ended the day a bit over my Points.... but of course, I don't know for sure because I didn't JOURNAL anything! :confused3 Part of this is probably being tired and yesterday was so crazy with my WW presentation, etc. Started my day with a serving of veggies today so I am hoping to improve things today.

I did NOT hit the scale yesterday morning, as I normally would right after a vacation. I was afraid that whatever the number was, it would put me in the wrong mindset for my WW presentation. I needed to be happy and cool and confident and seeing that I was over my maintenance range (a real possibility) would not have made me feel that way! I will weigh in at my "regular" weigh in time tomorrow, face the music, and move forward.

I'll say bye for now and go check that WW schedule and get my load of clothes on the line in the sunshine! I'll pop on again later to chat...........P

I'm glad you had fun even with the heat and crowds.. and I am sure that being tired affect the presentation but you still passed.. And sounds like you are getting back on track..

Oh sorry about the lack of sleep and it sounds like you are ready for today .. Silly girl to think on a blazing hot night you'd be cooking - we also ditched our dinner plans for last night and tonight in favor of grilling instead! (I thought I was going to make homemade Mac and Cheese tonight - maybe pasta salad instead!)

Ditto! Hoped to be 180s today but eating off plan last weekend doomed me...down .4 pounds to 192.

No worries - it still was down! You'll get there!

Well did a bit more shopping at the local Goodwill last night and felt like I hit the jackpot.. I ended up with 5 capri's, 1 skirt, 2 tops, 1 pair of shorts, and 2 pair of jeans - one pair of skinny ones?! WHAT.. OMG.. crazyness.. I don't know if it was because it was a good day or if it is just because there are more choices in the smaller sizes but anyway -- I was soo excited..:thumbsup2

I did not meet my May goal and this week am only down .3 but no worries here - I am going to start adding some daily walking/work-outs into my schedule to get that scale moving.. My 25th HS reunion is 7/27 and if I can be down at least one more size (maybe even 2) for that I'll be quite happy..

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend - its finally hot up here in the NE and I plan on working my tan (my legs are ghostly white in my "new" skirt today LOL) and finishing up the raking.. see you all on Monday on the June thread..

CONGRATS to all our LOSERS!!! and bigsis you look fantastic! goodwill shopping days like that are FUN FUN FUN!

sadly, I didn't make my goal, I was at my lowest last week..the heat here had me back up 1.5 this week. UGH!! so overall, i'm down I think 3 lbs for the month..not quite what I was hoping for. but it's progress

QOTD -- I learned that I absolutely MUST food journal everyday if i'm going to feel and be successful in dropping this weight! I also learned that not having AC makes me swell and i'll be thankful to be spoiled with it once again come Monday!

a heart :thanks: to all who coached and kept this thread going all month!!!

Yay Losers! :cool1:
I was down 2 for the month - only half of my goal, but still down! Chicago threw me off more than I expected - I'm sure I will gain everything back on our cruise but then I will come join y'all again in July!!!

Good luck in June!

I love a good day at the thrift store! Sounds like you hit it just right! I am hitting some yard sales today (big town-wide yard sale day in my town and the next town!). Hoping to find some capris. I have not worked in the summer in 18 years, so my summer work wardrobe is a bit sparse. It consists mainly of shorts and Mickey Mouse t-shirts!:lmao:

Woohoo on skinny jeans!!!

The heat is a definite factor...and since you know you are a bit swollen, you can forgive yourself at least for part of that 1.5 you gained. I don't tend to have issues with retaining fluid or swelling, but between the salty ham for dinner and last night's heat, I am definitely puffy this morning...so I stayed away from the scale!

Okay...I'm officially signing off for May. See you all on the June thread!........P

Congratulations to all our losers and maintainers and to everyone who stuck it out through the whole challenge! :cool1:

And a big WATP :thanks: to our lovely hostess, Dona! :flower3:

The trip was awesome, the food was amazing (yes, pasta, bread, and wine EVERY day :thumbsup2), and I think we averaged around 5 miles worth of walking every day ::yes::. As soon as I load some pics onto an online photo album, I'll send you all the link.

I'll be back when I can catch up some more but just wanted to say bongiorno! :goodvibes
