Thank you to Figment for hosting the May thread. :)

June may be my favorite month of the year! The sun is shining, temps are warming up, flowers are blooming. What more can you ask for.:cheer2:

So with these longer summer days, I challenge you to push just a little harder this month to get in a little bit more activity. Get outside for an extra walk, swim in the pool, or play time with the kids. Enjoy those long summer days!:beach:

Did you know that a goal of 1800 min for the month is just 60 min a day of activity?
A goal of 900 min is 30 min of activity per day. :goodvibes

How the challenge works:
Post your personal goal for June (xxxx minutes of exercise) and then post updates as frequently as you like. Progress will be tracked here.
Please post your update total at the top of your post.
You are also welcome to share your activity as well.
EXAMPLE:
301/1800
45 min running.

As you reach milestones for the month, your name and total will change color:
At 10% you'll be bright pink
At 25% you'll be orange
At 50% you'll be purple
At 75% you'll be turquoise
At 90% you'll be red (because you'll be on fire!)
And at 100% you'll be WISH green!

Here we go! Post your self-challenge and I'll add you to the list!

Thanks Figment for the May challenge and thanks Rose&Mike for hosting June.

Put me down for 1000 minutes again. Hopefully ill get there this month.

I am new to the board - signed up because I love Disney and am also a runner. I am currently training for a half marathon in July, plus trying to lose one pound/week through the summer. I have met that goal each of the last 6 weeks, but it is now time to increase my mileage, so this challenge seems perfect.

Please sign me up for 2500 minutes.

Thanks Rose for hosting June!

I'm in for 800.

Apparently 900 is an unlucky goal for me (I have gotten hurt everytime I set my goal for 900). :confused3 I've had great luck with 800 months. I was actually making it to about 900-950 whenever I picked 800 as a goal so I figured, why not officially make 900 my goal? Well apparently the 900 goal is bad luck for me! So secretly I'm going to aim for 1000. But maybe if I don't make that my official goal, I won't get hurt again.... :lmao: whatever it takes right?

Thanks for hosting last month, Figs! And a big thanks to Rose for hosting this month. I am going to up my minutes since school is out and that dratted work won't interfere with my workouts! :lmao: Please put me down for 2000.

Great to see you! :)

Thanks for hosting Rose! I'm going for 1600 minutes.

Welcome! Congrats on your pound a week!

So you need to explain the screen name.:)
Maybe Alabama fan living in Ohio? :goodvibes

:rotfl: Whatever it takes to stay uninjured! I will be secretly cheering for you to make the 1000 minutes healthy!

You all are making me laugh today! :rotfl2:

Hi
Count me in for 1000
Good luck everyone!

put me down for 900 again maybe this time I will make it.
You can do it! :goodvibes

I am in for 1800. Still fighting my silly back/piriformis. As long as I keep going to yoga a couple of times a week, I can keep running without too much pain. But yoga is BORING me to tears.:thumbsup2 Oh well, gotta do what we gotta do.

And as of today I have gone at least a mile (running or walking) for 151 straight days! Pretty excited about that!:goodvibes

Gonna be a busy month - family in town, vacation, etc. I think I'll shoot for 500 and see what happens.

Shameless bragging ahead. I put this at the end of the May thread, but maybe it will inspire someone to join in June who has hesitated.

I started walking last June, after I turned 50 and after I'd read about the Princess half marathon. It was my hope that I'd be able to walk/run it by Feb. 2013. Well, that didn't happen, but I DID run a 5k, and have since run 2 more, and I hope to do a half by the end of this year. In the meantime, over the last year, I've walked and run 425 miles! I would never have imagined I could do that, and I'm looking forward to increasing that number over the next year.

Hang in there, keep chugging along, and you too will surprise yourself with what you accomplish!

I'd like to join too, please.

Since I'm just "getting back at it" I'd like to shoot for a goal of 900 minutes of exercise for the month of June.

I'm glad today, May 31st, doesn't count as I won't be walking today.

Will get with the program and start in tomorrow though!

Most days I'm able to get at least 30-minutes in, quite often more since I'm now spending time gardening and WW does consider that exercise so I'm good with that. :) And if I can talk DH into going with me for a walk in the evening, that is usually extra minutes too.

Looking forward to getting started, and reaching (hopefully surpassing!) by personal goal.

Thanks Rose! :)

I hear ya about boredom. I try so hard to think positively about my PT sessions.... But as long as I do them, I can run, so I do them. I try so very hard to add in some fun music or even TV time when at home but it's just not the same. Congrats on the mile a day! I hope you keep feeling good.

- you are an inspiration! I will "shameless brag-to inspire" with you. As of July 2011 I could not run one step without falling flat on my face, literally, thanks to a stupid, horrible knee injury. As of today, May 30, 2013, I have run 754.63 miles, including the 2012 Wine & Dine half.

glss1/2fll - you crack me up! But I was wandering around the office today wondering where I could sneak off and do a workout during the day where no one would see me.... :rotfl:

Thank you - I am an OSU grad who was raised in Alabama. I will always be an Alabama fan, but I am also an OSU fan (for obvious reasons). Please don't let them ever face one another for the national championship.

I'm here for June! Thanks Fig for hosting May and thanks to Rose for hosting June.

I'm setting a goal of 1000 minutes. I'm not sure how much exercise I'll get at the beach for a week (new area and unfamiliar with the roads so I may have to just stick with running on the beach). But, I am going to shoot for 1000 and hope I can do it!

Let's get the party started :yay:

You are making me laugh now! Sorry yoga is so boring. I had to stop going to the place I was at - 90% of their classes were the exact same progression of poses. I need some variety! I'm looking at taking some fun fitness classes this summer - swimming, aerial yoga, trampoline...

My goal for June is 1200.

Thanks for hosting!

Thanks Figs for hosting May and Rose&Mike for hosting this month.

I'm in again this month and will up it to 1800.

I have to figure that stupid bike out since we are doing a dualathon the end of July. So I will be adding more time on a road bike instead of the one at the gym. :rotfl2:

Gardening can be hard work! Welcome! :)

We are big, big, big SEC fans at our house--our son just graduated from USC (the real USC, in South Carolina :thumbsup2) and is staying for grad school. Glad to have you here!

I'm here for June! Thanks Fig for hosting May and thanks to Rose for hosting June.

Ooh, the beach! That is exciting! Just be careful if the slope is too great--don't want to trigger any itband problems. :)

I looked up aerial yoga--I would so love that. They have a machine at the Y for reverse sit ups and I love to just hang upside down on it. It makes my back feel so good! I know yoga is good for me. And I have been really working on the breathing, but goodness! I miss my cardio endorphins!

Thanks Figs for hosting May and Rose&Mike for hosting this month.

That's exciting! Mike got a bonus gift card and we used it for a bike carrier for our Jeep. It has been awesome. We took our bikes to FL with us last week and rode around Lake Louisa and the West Orange trail near Lake Apopka. Can't see myself ever racing, but I do love to explore!:goodvibes

I am going to try for 2013 minutes. I'll be at the most Magical Place on Earth from the 5th to the 11th so we'll see if I can still make my usual goal. I'll have to work-off all those extra calories from all the Mickey Bars, Dole Whips, etc. :rotfl:
