They started the day with breakfast at Epcot's...






"Our kids didn't care for the buffet much, as you can tell by their plates..

Hi Barb or Vicki!

Can one of you share the tentative dates for the December meet? We had planned on arriving on December 11th, but since we had to postpone our SWW trip, DH has said we can arrive a few days earlier than the 11th. I'm shooting for an arrival of December 7th.

Would the meet likely take place in Epcot?

I would love to meet you guys! I don't post often, but I read daily. This is one of my favorite threads on the DIS.

Paula's tuna melt looks really, really good. I've been back and forth on WCC since last summer, and this makes the decision even harder!

Then for lunch smsraven & family were at Downtown Disney and dined at...

They started with these appetizers...




Melalosaurus Mozzarella - Seared Mozzarella with creamy marinara and mozzarella fingers







Footprints Flatbread - Warm flatbread topped with cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan and goat cheese, rotisserie chicken and caramelized onions, drizzled with a balsamic glaze






Dexter's Dual Dip - Our phenomenal combination of shrimp and artichoke dip and spinach and pepper jack queso served with tortilla chips




Next are the entrees...




Mammoth Mushroom Ravioli - Walk on the "wild" side with our massive mushroom ravioli simmered in a rich lobster cream sauce with Roma tomatoes and fresh spinach







Cretaceous Chicken Fried Steak - Breaded sirloin steak, fried golden brown and served with country gravy and garlic mashed potatoes






Kids Mini Corn Dogs Meal with Waffle Fries




And one more entree...




Mega Mes-O-Bones - Tender, slow-roasted St.Louis Ribs, basted with BBQ sauce and served with waffle fries and cole slaw



"DS had to get the souvenir cup..."




Discovery Blast - a non-alcoholic frozen blend of fruit layers in a bone-chilling glass that's yours to keep




And for their dessert...




Chocolate Extinction - A gigantic portion of chocolate fudge cake served with ice cream, fresh whipped cream drizzled with fudge and caramel sauces and sprinkled with Butterfinger crumbs




"While at Downtown Disney we stopped at Goofy's Candy Co. and picked up a few snacks for later."





"Make your Own Rice Krispy dipped in milk chocolate, topped with almonds, and with a milk chocolate drizzle. I didn't eat this until after we were home. Everyone else did the sour powder candy. I can't remember the exact name right now."

She said, "Paula said, "My dinner tonight is not what I had planned but I wasn't hungry enough or in the mood so instead I boarded a boat from the Swan and got off at the very next stop. Where was I heading?!? A place where no reservations are needed!"













"I ordered a Bacardi Mojito which doesn't quite look like it should."









"But it tastes good so I guess that is what matters!"

Next Nicole said, "Our wedding was yesterday and it was amazing!!! The day was beautiful and our dinner was wonderful! We are so happy, it was such a wonderful two days with Ava's birthday and the wedding."

"We also had caprese skewers, which we all raved about! Also stuffed mushrooms and endive with walnuts, Gorgonzola and balsamic, fantastic!!!"

"For dinner we had a pasta course, penne in a tomato cream sauce, delicious! Choice of strip steak, chicken Marsala or fish! I know the steak and chicken were amazing, perfectly cooked and great portions! The roasted potatoes that came with them were great as well! I don't think anyone had the fish which was mahi mahi. Most of the kids had chicken fingers and fries, I tried Ava's and it was great!"

Wow, so many great updates...

Love Ava's AK dress (and was that a little purse I saw too?)

Paula, you certainly were SOAKED - but, I agree with ocalla - totally worth a soaking for that waffle And if you're reading along, I would love to see some bonus pictures of the Swan since we are staying there in November and I have never so much as set foot in the place. Crews Cup Lounge looks like a great place for an adult beverage and a snack.

And my DD would absolutely love that tuna melt at WCC, maybe a lunch option for us next spring?

Paula - how funny. That is exactly what me and my DH ordered when we were at Crew's Cup. I love, love, love that shrimp dish. And the French Fries. Oh, wow. Wish I were having that right now!

Whew I finally caught up.... I am definitely going to have to find a time Crew's Cup while we are at the Yacht Club in August those fries look delicious....

Still running a day behind (although hoping to get caught up today before our four new reporters arrive today and tomorrow and start reporting), so let's get started with yesterday's updates beginning with our First Update of the Day from Nicole (AvaMommy526).



She said, "Yesterday (Wed.) we had met Jeff's family at the Animal Kingdom Lodge to have breakfast at..."















"I am in love with the resort, so beautiful and the detail is just incredible!"

"Ava's plate had an M&M pancake, bacon, muffin, grapes and raisins, a waffle (not a Mickey one so she wasn't into it ) and she pointed to the French toast bread pudding with pecan sauce. She loved the sauce, the fruit and she ended up with a croissant too!"







"I tried the stewed tomatoes and onions, grilled asparagus, corned beef hash, turkey bobotie, the scrambled eggs with goat cheese and chives, bread pudding, and the African fruit salad. I loved everything I tried, I wanted to try the African selections and I am so glad I did, they were great!"






"Jungle juice! Very good!"






"My second plate, I got more of my favs, the bobotie, eggs and bread pudding and I had to have a croissant, they're my favorite!"







"Ava got a special treat for her birthday!! I'm not sure what it was, I was not at the table when they brought it out. But it's like a cookie shell with chocolate raspberry type filling?! It was really good and she loved it!! A nice change from a cupcake!"

Islands of Adventure


She said, "After breakfast our plans were to go with Jeff's family to Hollywood Studios, but there was a miscommunication and they wanted to go to Universal Studios so that's where we spent yesterday! We really did have a blast, we got the express pass so we could do both parks in one day, funny though the only 2 times this vacation that I have actually been tired were the times I left Disney property, guess I'm a Disney girl."


"We got into IOA and looked in some shops, I snapped some cookie pics and other treats!"

"And then off we went to find my beloved Harry Potter! My sister in law is a huge HP fan and has never been since they added it so that's most of the reason we went and the Forbidden journey does not disappoint, everyone loved it!"


"We got my favorite, Butterbeer!! Jeff didn't get one, he got coffee and when he tried mine he said "geez if I knew it tasted like that, I would have gotten one" hehe I like it frozen, so good!!"










"After some rides my one sister in law, MIL and I were getting hungry so we went and ate while everyone else went on more rides. We ate at the little...

MIL and I had the smoked turkey croissant sandwich with fruit and potato salad. I thought it was really good, just what I needed. She didn't realize it was smoked turkey and I guess she doesn't care for that so she only ate a little. My SIL had the roast beef one with pasta salad and she thought it was great!"

Next was Nicole's dinner update from Wednesday night at Universal City Walk's...






"After a long but really fun and accomplished day at both IOA and US (I do love that express pass! ) we headed to Bubba Gumps! We all love it here! I was pretty excited to be back, Forrest Gump is my favorite movie of all time."

"I had the Fleur d'Lis and SIL had the Hurricane. Jeff had the Lava Flow and other SIL had a pomegranate margarita! They were all amazing and exactly what we needed after a long day!"












"For dinner I had the Shrimp New Orleans, shrimp in a spicy sauce with jasmine rice and Jeff had Mamas fried chicken, which was boneless with corn on the cob and mashed potatoes. Ava shared a little of everybody's!"





"As you can see the Princess was tired."




"Oh man, this was a great meal!!!! Really it was all delicious, everyone was so happy with what they got!! I love it here and will definitely be back!!"

If they had a separate ticket that ONLY let you into Harry Potter (and was cheaper, obviously), then I would go on EVERY. SINGLE. VISIT. I love it that much.

Definitely go to Sunshine Seasons. Although we have never eaten at Electric Umbrella, it often gets horrible reviews here on the Dis!

And Sunshine Seasons will have more variety ... something for everyone!
