WISH Away The Pounds ~ Marvelous May ~ All are WELCOME!

Happy Saturday fellow DISers.

Well, great start to the weekend for me.....I was at the gym for opening (8am) and walked/jogged my first ever 5K :cool1: OK, so it took me 48:05 (average 9:37 min/km) not brilliant, but we all have to start somewhere!!

Made good food choices so far today too, so feeling good about myself today!

Hope you're all having a great weekend....the sun has finally put in an appearance here, but the temp is still only 16 degrees (61 to you guys). OH will be settling down to watch the sport on TV shortly, so I'm going to brave some self-tan on my legs!!!

Catch you all later
:)

Good Sunday morning everyone.

Question of the Day

What was the first Disney movie do you remember seeing?

I remember seeing Mary Poppins in the drive in. I also remember seeing Bedknobs and Broomsticks on a large screen in Radio City Music Hall

Off to my niece's graduation party.

Have a happy and healthy day.

Don't really remember my first Disney film (althought it probably was Mary Poppins!), what I remember was watching the Wonderful World of Disney on a Saturday teatime, with mum and dad in front of the TV, eating cheese on toast!

Been out on my bike this morning - 7.88km in 28 minutes, so pleased with that. Loving the exercise at the moment. I seem to be sleeping better too. Weather is better here today, up to a positively tropical 20 degrees!!. Made some chipotle chilli burgers with a BabyBel cheese in the middle for tea tonight....dragged the BBQ out of the garage for it's first outing this year...just hope there's enough gas left in the cylinder!

First Disney movie. Toss up between Song of the South and Cinderella. I remember looking at the posters for Song of the South in the lobby of the theater and singing the song with my Mom when it was over. I remember going to Cinderella with some relatives, I think it was cousins on my Dad's side. I also remember looking at the Cinderella book a lot when I was little, I really liked the ballroom picture with all the dresses. I also had a big crush on the animated Robinhood about this time. :confused3

Sitting here trying to decide whether to go work out or go goodwill shopping. I'm not really in the mood for goodwill but it's tag color change day and I'm never off on a Sunday to go. Also the ab machine is down at the gym and it's ab/leg muscle day for me, always the longer work out and I have to work at 4.
Think Goodwill wins. I'll go to 3 and end up close to where I work then go to work from there. Rode my bike yesterday-- it was woderful going then got rained on back :-(

Lisa and Pam, thanks for the encouragement regarding WW! I signed up for the online program now and hopefully this will get me back on track. Today has been a horrible day though, as it is miserably cold (45 °F) and rained all day. I could have eaten all day!

But the lousy day made me stay in and work on my trip report. If anyone of you is interested in reading about my vacation which included the cruise on the Disney Wonder and 10 days at WDW you can read all about it here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3117206

QOTD:
My first Disney film also was the very first film I ever saw at the movies, so it is easy to remember. It was Alice in Wonderland, so I am very partial to this film until today! I also have very fond memories of The Sword in the Stone. I am still sad that they ended that little show they used to have at the MK...

Hi everyone Happy Tuesday! We had a pretty soggy weekend here in Maine both Sat and Sun but the sun came out yesterday and we finally got some yard work done.. Hubs mowed and I raked (1/2) and planted our tomatoes outside.. I have a raging blister on my hand (between my thumb and pointer from the rake) so it might be the weekend when I finish up my work.. but it's ok.. I am down about a half.. I guess that is good, i've been noticing I eat more things I shouldn't as I am not at goal yet or even near it really.. but I do feel much much better then I did before so I am not beating up myself too much.. I do however want to be sure to fit wonderfully in the dress I got for my Bday (10/10) so I must be careful to not gain what i've lost..

I'm back....well, almost! I'm here at the Airport in Orlando on our way home. Wonderful trip :woohoo: spectacular weather :thumbsup2...big crowds:scared1: and of course, too much food!:rolleyes1. I'll tell you more about it later and share pictures when I get home!

I am leading my first real WW meeting tomorrow as one of the final parts of my training, so prayers and PD appreciated!

We will be boarding soon, so I'll say goodbye for now! TTY soon..........P

Hope you had fun at your niece's party, Dona, and thank you for hostessing this month! :flower3:

The first Disney movie I remember seeing is Mary Poppins. We saw it at the drive-in and it was so exciting because my Dad was driving a Barracuda so we got to put the seats down and lie in the back on our pillows and blankets to watch the movie. :3dglasses I'm sure my parents were hoping we would fall asleep. ;)

I totally loved Cinderella, too, Susan. We didn't have too many Princess choices when I was growing up and Cinderella had the best clothes even though Aurora had her own castle. princess:

Congrats on the WW! They have a lot of good online tools and for your phone. :cool2:

Sounds like a busy week-end with all that yardwork. :goodvibes Sometimes I find I have a hard time staying on track when I am tired -- the siren's call of the food is hard to resist. Being aware of that might help you but you are losing slowly and steadily so I say go with it -- it's never going to be as fast as we want it to be. ::yes::

Good Thursday morning everyone.

My computer here and at school have been working poorly so I am sorry that I have not been able to post the QOTD

Question of the Day

We are at the end of the challenge. What have you learned about yourself this month?

Have a happy and healthy day.

QOTD:
I have learned that getting back into healthy eating after a vacation is more difficult than I thought even with the best intentions. But I also learned that it can be done!

I am going to post the June thread either late tonight or early tomorrow morning, so I hope you all stay with us during June and come over there!

So far, Lisa and Helen have volunteered as coaches for the first two weeks, if anyone of you wants to give a coaching a try in June you are very welcome! I can only encourage it! I found it really helps me staying focussed on eating healthy - and the added bonus is that with the question of the day you can even get people discuss topics which you find important. I have gotten some great inspiration from these answers!

So don't be shy! Sign up for a week of coaching (or even a few days if you cannot commit to a full week)!!

Also, can someone of the previous hosts email the spreadsheet for keeping track of the goals? Please let me know and I will PM you my email address!

Bigsis!!!!

BEAUTIFUL!!!

Look at the transformation!! That is incredible!! You look further than just halfway to goal!! Your clothes look amazing on you and love the smile!! Wonderful way to get us inspired to stay healthy!! :)

Tomorrow is weigh day, I might just see 180s!! But, Memorial Day weekend was 2 pieces of birthday cake, bbq, cheeseburgers/french fries...I had TWO cheat days...so if I do see it, it will be a huge blessing!! I did manage to do my 5k training, ran for 1/4th of it on the real road instead of the treadmill since I was out of town, and oh did my thighs and front shins HURT!! I did not do my 5k training yesterday to give them more time to stop swelling..do NOT want muscle swelling for my weigh in!! :) I have continued daily Ripped workouts...and will get in a 2-3 mile walk in later today.

My first Disney movie I remember seeing was probably Mary Poppins, I think that or 101 Dalmations rerelease in the 1970s...Song of the South as well...fun times! :)

Happy Thursday morning everyone!

I had started to type up some replies last night, but got pulled away from the computer and didn't make it back... and of course the page got closed and I lost what I had typed.... so I am starting fresh here!

Thanks for ALL of the well wishes and thought sent my way during my Disney trip. It was SO MUCH FUN and so exhausting!! We did have a few tense moments between DD and myself due to our sheer exhaustion... and the crowds and heat were more intense than I had anticipated, so it definitely changed up our usual park touring style. But it was still an amazing trip and it is so much fun to say that we were THERE during the Monstrous Summer 24 hour event!

I'll share a few photos after they are all uploaded. We want to sit together over the weekend and upload them and "relive" our trip together!

Due to be HOT here over the next few days, after a rainy cool holiday weekend, so hopefully I can get outside during the cooler morning hours to get some yard work done. When it gets too hot I'll pop inside and do housework with the fans blowing! The pool is open and sparkling and ready for swimming, thanks to DH's work on it over the past many weeks... so maybe we will even enjoy a swim this weekend.

I'll be honest and tell you all that my WW presentation yesterday was less than spectacular. I think my nerves and being very overtired got the better of me and.... well, it was just a HOT MESS.:rolleyes2 Frustrating because I know I am capable of better. That being said, I did get an overall assessment of competent and I did tell her I felt that I would be able to present to my territory manager tomorrow. So today I will probably find a local meeting to attend and do some reading, reviewing, and practicing.

I am finding it harder than usual to get back in the wagon, food-wise, since returning. Not any big disaster, but I was lax in journaling my food yesterday and I probably ended the day a bit over my Points.... but of course, I don't know for sure because I didn't JOURNAL anything! :confused3 Part of this is probably being tired and yesterday was so crazy with my WW presentation, etc. Started my day with a serving of veggies today so I am hoping to improve things today.

I did NOT hit the scale yesterday morning, as I normally would right after a vacation. I was afraid that whatever the number was, it would put me in the wrong mindset for my WW presentation. I needed to be happy and cool and confident and seeing that I was over my maintenance range (a real possibility) would not have made me feel that way! I will weigh in at my "regular" weigh in time tomorrow, face the music, and move forward.

I'll say bye for now and go check that WW schedule and get my load of clothes on the line in the sunshine! I'll pop on again later to chat...........P

Wow... really quiet here today! And I noticed it was really quiet over the weekend as well. Looks like we are all really busy right now.

Well, two suitcases and two tote bags emptied and ready for the attic. Most of the vacation laundry is either on the clothes line or in the washer or dryer. I have a small pile of bathroom supplies to put away and I can call my unpacking officially done.

Lunch today was a bit of a hodgepodge of the ends of some veggies... trying to use up the veggie I didn't finish before I left (I should have KNOWN the men wouldn't be making spinach salads while I was gone! :rotfl:)... and one last chicken sausage and some eggplant spread on low carb bread. Sadly, I neglected to plan dinners for when I returned, but I did manage to pull out some "emergency" supplies from the freezer plus the men did NOT eat all of the meals I left for them, so last night we had meatloaf and Alexia potato wedges with roasted cauliflower. Tonight is a small sliced ham with some mashed potatoes (for DS and DD), steamed broccoli and mashed carrots and parsnips. After that I MUST hit the store and do some meal planning for the weekend and week ahead.

Off to finish my lunch, put the suitcases in the attic, and make my bed!.......P

Hi everyone.......been super busy this week as I'm away at conference all next week, had loads of things to finish up at work. Intend to get weighed in the morning so will hopefully post before I leave for my train....not looking forward to the 7.5 hr train journey!!

Sorry I've not been around much - looking forward to focussing a bit more in June. I have done another 5K since I last posted, now down to 46:05....slight improvement!! Have packed my gym gear and running shoes!!
