just saw on the allearsnet newletter: changes at the pop food court.

amongst other changes: they are eliminating 2 of my favorites!!!!! the very popular and tasty Shrimp Lo Mein, and the equally yummy Mom's night out Fried Chicken! :sad1::confused3:sad::furious: why would they do that??

while staying at AOA this last trip we walked over to pop's food court for these great choices!!

Oh dead that's a pity, quite fancies the Fried Chicken as well on our visit.

Nooooo. I drive over to POP from OKW on Fried Chicken nights. Disney is one of the few places I can eat fried chicken because I have reactions to the cayenne pepper so many places use in the chicken.

I see they now have a rotisserie chicken. does EVERYTHING have to be "healthy"?? sheesh.. walk across the bridge to AOA for that! ;)
next they'll be changing the chicken at hoop de doo revue, Trail's End, and Prime Time! leave us our fried chicken!!!!!

I liked the old Pop menu, and I like the new menu a lot too. Just got back and had the make-your-own burrito for lunch and the pepperoni pizza bread for dinner. Both were excellent.

Have to agree with you - you can eat healthy at home - vacation is a time for indulgences.

My DH is upset that they don't have the chicken penne alfredo anymore. Well let me correct myself, they do but based on a pic we seen of the new one it looks nasty. As OP stated do they have to make everything healthy, jeesh. At least they still have the POP waffles for breakfast as well as the burritos. I had one of the burritos in Oct (pulled pork) and it wasn't to bad.

yes, I did post this on the Pop century official thread. and I did hear back from Lindsy at Guest communications. she is letting the "powers that be" know about my disapointment in the menu changes.

disney makes changes all the time. some good, some not so much.. they realy want to know about their guests opinons. please everyone, please let them know if you are unhappy about these changes.

let's keep the fried chickn, the shrimp lo mein, the chicken penne alfredo! (or whichever your favorites are)

I'm so disappointed to hear this, and I'll finally be back there in september! The penne and fried chicken were two of my favourite things. Pop seemed to have one of the best food courts in terms of assortment of food... I sent an email off expressing my disappointment, maybe if enough people do they will change it back... I can hope right?

My family each had a different favorite meal at Pop. Each one is now gone. But I am also concerned with breakfast. DH will not eat any turkey bacon nor chicken sausage. If that's all that comes with his breakfast platters, he will forego breakfast. Why can't it be a choice? At my work they have both and you get what you ask for. Surely there's enough breakfast traffic to be able to sustain both - I've been in that food court for many busy breakfasts! And just not going to go down the sadness road about the breakfast pizza ... :(

:sad2: That's sad. The fried chicken was awesome! Every time I go I feel like my free will is slowly slipping away. Shouldn't I get to choose if I want to eat un-healthy? Definitely should have healthy options but don't take away the few moment of happiness I get from eating deep fried food!!!

I don't see on the menu online that pork bacon has gotten the ax. Still showing regular bacon.

You are right, Chimilady, it's only on the kids platter that it's turkey bacon...

Still won't bode well with my family. Family won't eat chicken or turkey sausage, I've tried. Spiced them, chopped them, hidden them, doesn't really matter. Family takes a bite and asks me what I did to dinner...

We just came back from POP last night and yes the food court was very disappointing. Not only was the food not that great, the staff seemed to have trouble dealing with it. I stayed there last October so I only have that to compare it to, but the food and service were both much better in October. It wouldn't stop us from going back to POP (since we rarely eat in the food court anyway), but it was pretty sad to see it decline so much. I'll be writing and telling them what I think.

This isnt the first time i've heard this re: the changes at pop food court. I hope they get their act together soon! I too loved the food court!
