One thing I forgot to mention about the hotel was something somewhat strange and creepy about the hotel elevator...
Okay well it wasn't that elevator but every time we went on it there was an eerie howling sound, the first time we went up I said I think there is a banshee in the elevator shaft! I won't lie it was a little creepy when I went down to get ice late and I was all by myself. The next morning we heard it too going down to breakfast but we made it through our short stay alive... I don't think any ghosts followed us
The kids and myself went down for our complementary breakfast at the hotel while Cathleen got up and ready. This was pretty much the routine most of the days as Cathleen is the least of the least morning people you will ever meet. The food was good but the coffee was putrid! Worse than the Nescrappy stuff they serve at Disney They had a variety of items, eggs, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, etc. but my kids picked cereal, yogurt and fruit, and Hannah had a bagel. I also took Cathleen up a bagel and a cup of "coffee" it was a cup of about half coffee and the other half cream and sugar and that made it a little better.
Well once we finished up breakfast and Cathleen was ready and it was time to check out and when I say check-out I mean the kid behind the counter did a full neck bend and checked-out Cathleen as she walked by Well I found that a little humorous and flattering cause oh yeah, my girl's got it! I told her after we got in the car and we both had a laugh. Now it was off to Port Canaveral!.......
On our way we past a reminder of home. I didn't even know they had Buffalo Wild Wings in Florida. Here is a side note, Buffalo Wild Wings stinks! (in my opinion) if you are ever in Buffalo the best wings are from Duffs and I am very excited they are opening a Duffs in Niagara Falls soon! But either way it was kind of cool to pass by at the start of our vacation symbolizing our vacation was officially starting and home was behind us.
It was a little less than an hour drive, I may have been slightly heavy on the gas pedal excited to get there. We made one quick pit stop before we got to the terminal, we stopped at the DIS Welcome Center which apparently is where my full Disney-nerd came out, Cathleen said she couldn't believe how happy I looked. I was also very excited I got to meet Teresa from the DIS Unplugged podcast, I was hoping Pete might be there but it was awesome to meet Teresa. She gave the kids autograph books and disposable cameras. They were really excited about their gifts. I was also excited to get some real coffee there it was very good Before we left I got my picture taken with Teresa and she told us not to miss the sail away deck party which I'm glad she told us!
Now it was off to our final destination! Well almost, first we had to go park at the off site lot with the rental car and catch a shuttle to the port. We saved a pretty penny not parking at the terminal. NOW we arrived!
Okay, sorry to cut the day short but I'm going to have to make this a to be continued. But stay tuned I have some risque business to share and not pole dancing Sam! See you soon for Day 2, part 2: Sail Away and Cover Your Eyes Kids!
