Anyone doing the "almost" B2B on Magic in Jan'14?

Trying to convince dh that instead of doing a 7 night on the Fantasy to ports we've already been to, that we should instead do the 3 night out of Miami on Jan 2, drive up the coast and stay w/family overnight and hop back on the Magic in Pt Canaveral on Jan 6 for four more nights... Anyone else doing this?

Any clue if they will let us leave our luggage on board? or get the same stateroom/servers?

I love that it's all new ports for us, two stops in Nassau which means we can stay onboard for one and enjoy all the new amenities crowd-free... and the pricing is pretty awesome! (approx. $1,000/person in an inside cabin)

I was looking at this one as well. I don't have answers to your questions, but would also like to know!

How long of a drive would it be between the two ports?

I'm going to hazard a guess that you won't be able to leave your bags onboard. They are separate cruises, not truly B2B. As to the same servers, you could place a request on your second reservation requesting the same servers while the first cruise is happening, if you wish to keep them. If you are able to book the same stateroom when making the reservations, then, yes you can have the same room.

3 to 3.5 hours... longer if you go to WDW for the day/overnight... there are lots of great beach resorts along the way... we would likely stop in West Palm Beach and stay w/family (get the requisite holiday time visit out of the way! LOL!)

I'm guessing a one way car rental would not be too costly for two days...

I cannot think of a better Christmas present for the family... and am willing to forego our summer vacation (which was only four days on St John) in order to make this work! LOL!

We are doing almost the same thing but with two ships. Magic 4 night followed by Fantasy 7 night with a day in between. We are driving back to WDW and will go see Wishes that night. :)

What a fun plan! Sounds perfect :goodvibes

2 stops in Nassau? Doesn't excite me.

For us, the upside of that is we can stay onboard on a port day and enjoy the ship w/lower crowds... we did this on our Costa Maya day and had the Aquaduck to ourselves all afternoon! WOOP!

As mentioned this would be considered two separate cruises and I highly doubt they would let you leave your luggage onboard (especially since it is two different ports for embarkation).

Sounds fun though!!!

Earlier this year we did a 4 night Wonder cruise, followed by 3 days driving around southern Florida (Keys, Everglades, coast), then headed up to Port Canaveral for a 3 nighter on the Dream. Was a very good trip!! Since I live on the West Coast, going to Florida for a 3 OR 4 night cruise is so NOT worth it - to much time in an airplane. But 7 nights along with our land portion made for a Wonderful trip.
