Hi My name is Megan I am 21 years old an I have been accepted into the Disney College Program for the Fall.
I am so excited and can't wait for me to be on the plane to Florida.
Just a few things to share.
I live in Oklahoma and will be arriving at Disney World on September 9th for check in at Vista Way.
I am going to be in attractions and I will be there until January 4.
I know this is a weak first post but don't worry I am going to be posting more as it gets closer and I will also post more when I actually get there.

Welcome Megan
My Daughter Did the college program in the fall of last year. She was a Lifeguard at first, then they closed one of the Waterparks for refurb and she transferred to Childrens activities. She really loved that playing with kids pool side and/ or just watching Disney Movies at some of the resorts at the viewing areas. Then they would do trivia and stuff.

You will pick up on it quick. One thing that was a bit alarming and I think I should let you know about. Maybe it was just working at childrens activites, but my daughter said this was happening to alot of the College kids. She got sick a few times. You have to be careful. Please realize that you are coming into contact with thousands of people each day working with attractions. Especially if it is with little kids, (which it most likely will be). I would think the bigger rides would be worked on by veterans with steady jobs, but I may be wrong. Wash your hands alot. Keep some antibacterial purell with you in your purse or whatever and use it occasionally when you deel the need.

I am by no means a germ-a-phobe, but when she was really sick one time she actually had to go to the hospital because her primary doctor ofcourse is nowhere near there. That was big money, even with my health insurance. I eventually called my insurance provider and explained the situation and they simply said to pick a doctor that is close and in the Cigna program, and we were eligible to use that doctor as her primary temporarily and therefore she only had to pay the $20 co-pay each time she saw him. She actually (after the first hospital trip) went to see this guy 2 times. 2 more hospital visits would have cost her another $200 each because she was basically using the emergency room.

So if you feel you need to and if you have decent insurance coverage with a co-pay, look a few doctors up right away when you get settled, contact your insurance with the situation, and either make an appointent just to get aquainted, or at least contact the doctor, give them your name maybe and explain to them that you will be livivng in the area and may use this doctor if such needed. It will save you cash and allow you to get better prescriptions if you need them. Emergency rooms usually will give you a script for a few days and tell you to see your primary, but if you explain to them you might get better results. Especially if you need pain meds or something more personal.

Sorry I dont want to seem do negetive. Trust me my daughter loved it and had the greatest time of her life(big disney fan like me) She made alot of friends and infact still have friends living there. One of them actually used her cast memeber discount to get us 40% off of our room this August for our trip this year.

My daughter basically wants to go out every evening with one of her many friends (guys and girls) she will be 21 by the time we go and wants to go to a few clubs.

So wrapping up, congratulations, welcome to the Dis Boards, please post your experience occasionally. Think about the doctor situation(to save money) and most of all have fun!!! Make peoples stay there as Magical as you can. Nothing better than a cast member that goes the extra mile, and Disney loves that!!!!!

If I think of anything else relevant I will post back again!!
