Next we have a couple of updates from 1coolnini & 1coolpapa.


She said, "We headed to MK this morning so we could at least say were there on the 24 hour celebration.
We hadn't had our obligatory Dole Whip, so we took care of that."














"I had a Dole Whip and 1coolpapa has a Pineapple Float with vanilla ice cream. Both were good. We have had these many times at Disneyland so this wasn't new for us, but they taste a bit better in the Florida heat."




And then they had lunch at a place which is open seasonally...



"Check out 1coolpapa's shirt. It is a special shirt for the 24 hr. event. They were flying off the shelves."







"We were excited by the menu. Disneyland has a place that serves Mexican food and it is pretty decent, so we thought we would give it a try."




"I had the Taco Salad...




Taco Salad - Crisp Flour Tortilla with Seasoned Beef




"1coolpapa had a Beef Burrito...




Beef Burrito filled with Cilantro Rice and Black Beans






"The items are served to you plain and then you can top them with lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and salsa."



"For dessert, we both had the cookies and cream gelato (no pic sent). Let me assure you this food looks better than it tastes." I made a big mistake here and broke my number one rule of dining..."Never eat Mexican food outside of Southern California"! Although San Angel Inn was an exception. The gelato was the best part of our meal. If this happens to be open when you are visiting, my recommendation is to just walk on by."

Our next update is sadly the last (I believe) from Jen (jenifferf00) but she went out with a bang, scoring 10 points for our first update from lunch at the Wilderness Lodge's...

Jen said, "We started with some yummy cornbread."







"And then moved on to the skillet."










"I thought the skillet was alright. Wasn't really a fan of their BBQ sauce, and the ribs were tough. But the atmosphere was great, the kids really enjoyed the pony races."

Note from jabead: Whispering Canyon Cafe Lunch will remain on the list of 10 point locations for the June/July game. Hopefully we can get some more updates from WCC with pics of some of their other lunch menu items other than the All-you-Can Eat Platter.

Next a quick travel update from Paula (smile4stamps), who is now on her way to Disney World. Earlier she sent this lunch update from the San Jose Airport.






Paula said, "I ordered a medium-rare bacon cheeseburger. The place downtown makes them awesome...Here is good but not the perfect burger."






"And a short layover means no food till Orlando so I stopped to get a Jamba Juice. Went with the Orange C booster, as I'll take all the immunities I can get!"

Nicole said, "Today when we got to DHS we stopped at Starring Rolls for lunch! We both got the turkey and mozzarella on the focaccia bread...






"Jeff got a side of chips, I got a banana which he ate! The sandwich was good sized and fresh and really good!"




"Ava got the pb&j again with applesauce and carrots (which I ate!)."







"And then we all shared the beloved Red Velvet cupcake! Red velvet is my favorite and this was soooooo delicious!!!"














It looks like Ava enjoyed it!

She said "It was hot today and a little crowded! Thankfully it's cooled down a little, but we still needed some adult refreshments while Ava napped in her stroller!! Jeff had a Bud light and I had a margarita!"






"They were both exactly what we needed, we also shared a Mickey pretzel, yummy!"





"I'm also sending a pic of the special drinks for Star Wars weekends! The Force and the Dark Side!"





"My parents just flew in and came right to meet us at DHS. They needed a drink so they went with the Dark Side...

"The mussel appetizer was so good. The sauce was light and not too overpowering."






"The French Onion Soup was good, not great, but satisfying."



"For my entree, I had the Chicken Provencale...





"It is new and not on the menu yet. The chicken was juicy. The sauce was a light tomato with olives. I loved it!"






Grilled Strip Steak with garlic-herb butter and pommes frites


"DH's steak was cooked exactly as ordered. He said it was excellent!"




The dessert cart...





"We each ordered one of the cupcakes and shared (lemon meringue, strawberry, and chocolate). They were the best part!"




"The service was excellent and DD got to dance with the Beast!"

"We started with the Appetizer plate for 2...




Appetizer Combination for Two - Beef Brewat Rolls, Chicken Bastilla, and Jasmina Salad


"The salad was great. I would've loved a plate all to myself. The other items were chicken and beef and flaky dough with sugar and cinnamon. Very interesting. I preferred the chicken to the beef."





"We both enjoyed their mint ice tea...








"I had the Chicken Kebabs with fruit couscous...







"1coolpapa had the Shish Kebab (grilled tenderloin of beef)...







"Here's my dessert...




Bastilla - crispy leaves of pastry topped with vanilla cream and sprinkled with toasted almonds


"It was hard to eat and too sweet for me."




"This is 1coolpapa's dessert...




Marrakesh Delight - fresh fruit salad topped with mint ice cream, toasted almonds and orange blossom water

"It actually tastes better than it looks."




"Marakesh was a nice restaurant with friendly staff and fun music with a belly dancer. We enjoyed our meals but they use some unusual spices in some of the foods. I didn't care for the dessert selection ( I think I am still in love with my dessert from Flying Fish) . We really enjoyed our entrees and the Jasmine salad was good. We would eat here again."



Also as a bonus, 1coolnini sent this non-food update...





She said, "Before we went to dinner tonight we went over to Guest Relations and converted our WDW 10 day park hoppers to a Disney Premier pass [these can be used for entrance to any of the Disney World Resort parks and water parks plus the Disneyland Resort parks too]. Our current Disneyland premium pass expires on Sunday and we found out that with the credit of our park hoppers we can upgrade to the premier and save $. How cool is that?"

She said, "There aren't that many good counter service options at HS but we do like this one."

"It is nice to see a salad option other than Caesar salad. It was a very nice CS meal."

"I was so excited to go back to this restaurant!"

They started with the...




Calamari Fritti - corn-crusted rings served with spicy tomato sauce


"This was so good! It was nice and crisp, but not greasy at all. And the tomato sauce was delicious!"







"We got the family style house salad. It was very tasty. Lots of nice vegetables in it."






"We couldn't go to Via Napoli without getting the Margherita Pizza. Honestly it was some of the best pizza I have had."





"Both mom and got the eggplant parmigiana served with roasted potatoes...









"We both loved it!! Eggplant parmigiana is one of our favorites but whenever we get it at a restaurant we are always disappointed. Not at Via Napoli! It was delicious!"




"Dad got the veal parmigiana...



"He thought it was great! The veal was a good quality."




"Alex got the spaghetti and meatballs...



"He loved this and said that the sauce was amazing!"



"We all loved our meal here. It was a great value and has become a must do!"

"The fish was little greasy but the fries weren't."

"This was my first Dole Whip and it was heavenly! I can't believe I haven't had it before this trip! If you have never had it it is a definite must."
