I was wondering why there no posts after 9:36am. No wonder!
But I'm here. Hi Andre and Venom!

Woohoo. I will be there in one week and one very long travel day. Since the 5 kids don't know my husband I text each other from the same room when talking about it and my dad, brother and I have a final planning meeting tomorrow. Next thing to do is fax requests which are easy because we have two RR and 1 king. I know we won't be in the same building but oh well I'll be at Disney.

Three sleeps til we drive to Disney and POR!!! And the kids still don't know :) Thanks for all the info that's been on here... I feel very prepared for our stay. Got our fax request in earlier this week, just confirmed that we'll do the bus to MK when trying to get to RD (and maybe drive another time to get the ferry/monorail experience), and just have to pack without the kids watching me! See you soon POR!

We have 14 more days and I can't wait. I'm driving everyone crazy talking about Disney and POR. This will be our 2nd time staying here. We loved it the first time and I'm ready to enjoy this trip. I'm faxing my request next week, but truly I can be in any bldg and be happy bc I will be at Disney!!!!!

3 weeks from today we head to the world for our first stay at POR, have stayed at the WL every year for the last 10 years, except for one trip we stayed at AKL, so while I'm a bit apprehensive, we are really looking forward to POR :cool1:

Can I ask how long the 'Murphy beds' in the alligator bayou are? Can I five foot child sleep and not hang off them?

83 days till we get to stay at POR for the first time, YAY

5 days until we leave on vacation, 8 days til we check into POR for the first time!!! So excited! I'm getting my fax ready to send off on Tuesday!!

Question: we have paid for a garden view, but I really don't want the hassle of a Murphy bed in the room (we have an 8yo and an 18month old), is this something I can put in my fax or is it something I should call Disney and ask to have noted?

Thanks!
Kathy

I see on the layouts that there are hair dryers in the rooms. Are there clothes irons as well?

The only thing you can do is request to be in the mansions. All the Alligator Bayou rooms have the Murphy beds and it's not like they can be removed.

I'm not sure I understand what the hassle would be, though. They take up just a little more floor space when they're open.

Yes, there are ironing boards and an iron in each room. :thumbsup2

I'm doing the last minute packing and I'm soooo excited I can hardly stand it. Can't wait for our 3rd stay at Riverside. ;)
Staying at the airport tomorrow night for our early Monday morning flight!!!

I read that the hair dryers are not good so it's best to bring your own. Did you find this to be the case?
