New Flickr Layout

What is the deal? Every time I get used to something they change it....

I know we will get used to it, however, right now, its very confusing. I hope they fixed the uploader. I have had problems for the past two weeks, reverting to the old uploader, which is very cumbersome. I know the "pro" subscription is not a major expense, but if I can't upload then what am I paying for. I will try a little later to see if its working. I will have plenty to upload since I'm processing about 2500 images from three events that I covered this weekend!

Does anyone know how to reduce the size of the "thumbnails" so more images are on the screen at one time. Right now I am only able to look at six at a time. Unfortunately, I did not "tag" each image specifically but went for a more generalized naming of my images preferring to just scan through a set to find what I was looking for. Therefore a "search" is fairly useless for my organization. I don't have time to go back and "re-tag" my images, because I would rather be out taking pictures than going back and re-doing everything!

The new look is nothing short of beautiful. Glad they emphasized photos and favorites and de-emphasized comments and everything else. Also love the mosaic layout.

Here's hoping this all isn't too late...

Visually some of the changes are nice. There are definitely some layout issues and plenty of bugs that should have been squashed prior to launch. The new pricing scheme is retarded, but it seems Pro users are grandfathered in, so as long as that's indefinite I won't complain. The new Android app is lightyears ahead of the previous app though. Sooo, overall pretty happy, but I hope they will listen to feedback as well as quickly squash the bugs.

I will get used to the new layout (I think I like it right now), but the free TB of space is amazing!!

I love the new look of the site. Definitely reminds me of the beauty of the 500px layout. Don't know if I'll continue with a Pro account or not though; especially since I heard they got rid of the "200 images" displayed limit for the free users. So to just get rid of ads, and maybe see stats(???), I don't feel it's worth it.

I agree the pics look great on the site but it will take a few days to get use to the new layout. The free 1tb is awesome.

Does anyone know where to find the EXIF data now? They recently added it to the main photo page, and it was under the Actions menu. But I can't find it in either place now.

click on the 3 dots icon on the bottom right on the image. It's in that menu and also if you click "show more" on the additional info.

Thanks! I guess I just don't speak the new Flickr language......

hate it myself. There's plenty of other photo sharing websites out there with that style of layout. Flickr was easy to navigate and to comment on images without having everything forced the width of your screen.

Might as well be on SmugMug and/or 500px.

Haven't been able to fix my PhotoStream layout. Uploaded photos #100 thru #144 but #144 shows up as the first picture and #100 is the last. Total reverse of the upload file. Fixed it in "Sets" by arranging by "alphabet", I think it was, but can't find a way to do the same in "PhotoStream". Did email help and all they would say was to change the date of upload?????

I'll probably just stay with SmugMug anyway. Just wanted to try it out. Tried to upload some more today but kept getting an error message, no clue why, so I just gave up. Site as it is now is just not all that easy to navigate, IMHO.

I don't like change, so I'm not liking the new flickr much at all. I hate not being able to find things.

I think I'm going to give up my Pro account. I'm constantly looking at stats now, but can live without it. Ads won't bother me. The problem is, I can't find a link to view/change my account options.

Is there somewhere I can look to see how much space I currently have used?

Just sent the link to my "Sets" to my wife to see on her iPad. Had set my "Sets" to be seen only by family and friends but when my wife wanted to view, it was requiring her to create either a Yahoo ID or if she signed in with Google, it wanted her to create a Flickr screen name. All this just to view the pics. Cancelled out of that right away and will be deleting by pictures and account. To intrusive for me.

Don't worry. If you think you need more space, you can get the "Doublr" plan for up to 2TB and a low price of $500. :lmao:
I wonder if that's better than the old "Pro" plan with unlimited for $25. :confused3
