Did I miss the memo? In 2013 you can not convert left over dinning credits into 3 snack credits? Please say it isn't so!

Last time we got half price dxddp we ended up with 12 dinning credits left over.

12 dinning credits was turned into 36 snack credits so we went to store at resort and got tons of candy and mickey rice crispy treats..

Assuming you could do it, how did you do it?

The only place it would work is at the resorts, and only CS to snacks. I last tried it on our trip 2 years ago and was able to do it.

I have also heard that it was stopping but as you can see from the few responses it can be variable. I would say don't count on it, but if it is allowed consider it pixie dust! pixiedust:

Agreed. On the dining plan it does specifically say that it can no longer be done, but whether it is allowed or not seems to vary with CMs. When successful, it has been mainly at the resort food court and usually at the end of the trip. I would ask the cashier if it's allowed and then go back to that same cashier to check out.

TS credits can now be used for a CS meal. No converting needed for that. This went into effect Jan. 1, 2012. The CS to snack conversion was supposedly discontinued at that time. There have been a few reports fro those who have been successful, but they would not let us do it in October at POP. They said they were no longer allowed to do it. I have not seen any reports of anyone having success since early last year, with the exception of the one above.

I was inquiring online about the DDP because we leave at 4:00 AM on our last day so I was trying to figure out if it was worth it because according to Disney we would still get all the dining credits. The CM told me just go to the shops and grab a bunch of snacks and candy for the plane ride.

I always find that you get a different answer no matter who you speak to at Disney lol

Just this January I saw a guy flip out at Captain Cook's because he was told he couldn't trade his CS credits for snacks. He was standing there screaming that Disney always changes things and doesn't give notice. He's right, of course.

you are figuring per night - not per day - so if you use all of your credits on the first day then you won't have any on the last one

We did it at AoA in November. 1cs for 1 snack. The cashier had to get a manager to help but it was no problem at that time.

They used to give 3 snacks for a CS credit, but that is no longer allowed. 1 snack for a CS credit is basically just getting the dessert portion of your CS meal, so that is not much of an issue.

1 CS for 1 snack is a heckuva downgrade in the value of the credit and is probably useful only to the effect that it's better than not using the credit at all. Although those who are getting the DDP free aren't likely to see it that way.

Can we use unused TS credits as QS credits? And if so, can it be done anywhere that does the DP?

If CS credits can be used as snack credits (1 for 1), can that be done anywhere or only at resorts?

(no flames please, I know it's a "waste" of credits....)

Yes to the first set of questions, but CS credits cannot be used for snacks unless the snack you want is part of a CS meal. There is more leeway at resorts because there are many more qualifying items. You may have to get all of the meal components in order to get the "snack" item, though.

I'm not questioning that you can use TS credits for a CS meal but I'm curious where you read that. I've read in other places (ex. MouseSavers) that in 2013 you can't. I'm interested in knowing because I would do the full dining plan if I could. We'll be at CR for 6 nights in Aug and only have ADR's for three character meals (that's all we want; DS12 and DD8 don't like doing to many TS meals as they take so long).

It was in the early rendition of the plan brochure for 2012, but was later replaced by a different dining plan tip. It went into effect Jan. 1, 2012, and to my knowledge, nothing has changed since then. It was also verified via email last year. I think a poster named geckodani posted a copy. You can probably search for her posts. I am on my phone at the moment, but when I get home from the pool I will track it down and post it here.

Thanks for the quick reply! I misspoke on what I read on MouseSavers (apologies to Mary). It states that they can't be used for snacks, not CS meals.

I actually found a post on the WDW Mom's panel that says TS credits can be used for CS meals (should have just dug longer!)

Anyway, I appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Here's a link to the Mom's panel quote about using TS credits for CS meals if anyone is interested:
