Would love to hear about club level on the Dream! How does club level compare land vs Sea.

Basically the same. There are dedicated concierges to help you with....well, everything! They have meal presentations throughout the day. There is a full bar set up for two cocktail hours in the evening. It's not out all night like the wine and cordials on club level, but like on club, if you ask them for a glass of wine at say 2pm they get one for you. There is a private sundeck with sunblock and Evian spray set out for your use. And you get 100 minutes of free wifi.
Also, like club, you have your own separate check in. Can't think of anything else.

Sorry if I highjack this post, but do I understand correctly? Even if it's not the posted cocktail hour, my DH can go to the lounge for a beer, say in the middle of the day if he wishes and get one?

Not really. Never heard that one before. Some people can be a bit pushy and the concierge staff basically tries to never say "no". So, I guess you can ask at non happy hours and probably get something, but I would say it is not really appropriate.

I hope you weren't implying that I was "pushy" and I don't see how it is inappropriate. There have been a couple of times I have been in either the concierge lounge on the Dream or in a club lounge and have asked the concierge if I could possibly get a glass of wine and it has taken them about a minute. There have been others on this board who have posted that, after a really rough day, asked for a drink of some sort and the concierge was happy to get them one. I have never seen anyone jump up and down shouting 'Bring me a beer!!"
So I'm sure if your DH were to wander in and nicely ask if it were possible to get a beer, there would not be a problem.

They probably wouldn't say no if he asked one time, but they probably wouldn't do it for him all the time (or would be supper annoyed to do it all the time). They have cocktail hour from 5-5:45 and 7:30 to 8:15 each night, plus on the Fantasy we had two sun deck parties where drinks were served.

I saw them serve a lady one time when she asked for a drink around 7:15..she thought it was cocktail hour and just didn't realize that she was asking for something special. They also got my husband and I a glass of wine at 8:30 one night because we were asking if we could order wine from room service (our son was sleeping so we couldn't leave the room). We were not trying to get a free drink...they just offered.

Anyway, I would probably just buy your own drinks at 2:00 in the afternoon :)

Drinks are free during the two "happy hours" prior to the dinner seatings.
Other times they are happy to sell you a drink. :)

The best thing to do is simply ask the concierge staff if complimentary alcoholic drinks are available throughout the day. Then, you should have a clear understanding of what should be considered an acceptable request. Otherwise, yes, I do think one is being a little pushy to believe that at 2 in the afternoon you should ask the concierge staff for a glass of wine when there is no indication whatsoever anywhere in the lounge or associated paperwork that is an option. There have been more than a few posts on this board about people demanding all types of drinks from the concierge staff (i.e. "bring us a bottle of wine to our room, we are not paying for it, and I do not want to hear "no"). Asking for a single glass of wine at 2 pm is not that excessive, however, it is on the same pathway as more inappropriate requests. The concierge staff want a good tip and are not likely to say "no", however, you cannot say that you are not putting them in a bad position if you do not ask about the acceptability of the request beforehand. We are headed to port in a few days and can ask the staff if you would like.

Didn't intend to start a thread about inappropriate requests, I was told that club level on the cruise holds more value, from a pleasure/convenience point then the same at the Poly. I understand we would board first, have priority seating? Meals? Shows? First off for CAC? Ports? As a cruise novice I have no idea, the only cruises I have taken, and they are many were on my yacht and I was the captain! So advice is very appreciated.

We did concierge level last summer on the Fantasy and it was amazing. I loved all three of the people who worked in the concierge lounge (unfortunately I can't remember their names). In fact one of them used to work at Palo's on the Magic. They were always welcoming and available to help with anything. One of the Mixology classes we wanted to take was full so they worked with the class and got us added above the total number allowed. They gave us a lot of magical moments from a huge lithograph of Mickey and Minnie on the Fantasy to a bottle of champagne for our anniversary. They gave my DD a gaming card for the arcade. They were also the staff that worked the cabanas on CC so we got great service there as well. We really enjoyed talking to them about the cruise, their home countries and a bunch of other things. The only down side that I saw was getting signed up for the different programs on the ship as you came on board (Beer Tasting, Wine Tasting, Mixology, ...). It was first come first serve on getting welcomed into the concierge level, there are only 3 of them so you had to wait for one to become available. By the time they got to us some of the ones we wanted to sign up for were full (that is how they squeezed us into the Mixology class). I would recommend that you get on the ship early and just go to guest services to sign up. The lounge was nice and the food was good. I always stopped by for water to take with us as they had water bottles. We would stop by before dinner and have a few drinks and sometime after dinner depending on the evening. We didn't really use the sundeck much and every time we went up there, there was no one else there either. I did notice that we seemed to get the nice tables at dinner. For the Enchanted Garden we sat in the booths as you walk in. It may be that we just got lucky or that they save those for the more pricey rooms. Not sure. Another neat thing about the concierge level was that we could sit on our balcony and watch the fireworks. Now you have to be on the correct side of the ship but it was so neat to just sit on our balcony and watch the fireworks, it was really something special.

It is expensive but it really made the trip special. Would I do it again? Maybe, if it was a special trip or if we could upgrade easily.

You would be able to book excursions at 180 days out. Also make Palo and Remy reservations, spa appointments. Cabana rentals.
There is no priority seating for shows or for disembarking.

We are booked on the Dream Starboard side Family Suite 12508, 12510 & 12518. Hopefully the Starboard side is the fireworks side!
