BOG question

We are going on a last minute trip and wonder if there are any chances of getting to eat at BOG. There are 2 of us going 6/12-6/14 and of course the online system shows no availability. Has anyone had any luck with finding something at the last minute? Do they save anything for walk ups?

Since I assume we will be shut out, does anyone have recommendations for other dining in the MK? I don't really want character dining but would like to eat in the park.

Thanks

BOG has a credit card secured reservation. If you do not show you get charged. This reason alone will cause some people to cancel reservations at least 24 hrs ahead of their scheduled ADR. I doubt that you will get a walk up. Keep trying until you leave and then every day check with the front desk at your resort....also stopping at guest services at the park the day you want to eat there.

As for other places at the Magic Kingdom, we love Tony's. Remember there are great spot just a short mono rail or boat ride away. We also enjoy O'hana, Kona Cafe, and The Grand Floridian Cafe.

You can also do BOG for lunch.

A month ago, we asked at the gate what the deal was for walk ups.

The very nice CM told us that on most days, they were indeed taking walk ups. The day we asked was hard, because it had been raining earlier so a lot of people were showing up late to their reservations and they were honoring reservations even if it was late.

She said by 4pm they already know who is canceling and if you show up then, you may have a chance to get in for one of the cancelled spots.

Ultimately what it means is, if you're in the park by 4 and you can go in and ask to give it a try, then you have nothing to lose!

Agree. While you can certainly gamble and try for a walkup (you would want to do this as soon as they open for dinner), why not just go at lunch time instead. Although the line looks really long, it moves surprisingly fast. The menu is different, but the dining rooms are the same.

When we went over Easter break, we saw a couple of families get walk ups when they first opened for dinner, around 4:30

Thanks for the replies. I'll keep checking but will try for lunch if I don't have any luck. Eating lunch there does bring up the question of where then to go for dinner. I just can't get excited about any of the other restaurants in the MK. We feel like we are too old for character dining.

Any opinions on the best CS places in the MK? I could always leave the park and dine at a resort but I am rehabbing from a total knee replacement so I hope to reduce the distances walked.
