***** New September 2013 Thread *****

136 more days!!! :cool1: The number is big, but I know the time is going to fly by - my fiance and I are buying our first house together next month! Lots of exciting things happening soon, and WDW is right at the top! Booked for FD at POP from 9/25-10/5...was planning on going in December but I just can't wait that long! :rotfl2:

It's coming though! I've been counting down since like 200 days when we started talking about planning & first booked a room.

So 136-- almost halfway there!

Big congrats on the house!

So my husband and I decided on our vacation dates today and booked!!!!! Sept 14-21 :cool1: I am super excited! It will be my husband, Daughter (6), son (5), and myself. This will be our second trip, the kids were too young to remember the first. We are going to surprise the kids (that is if I can keep it from them that long:upsidedow)! I have started planning but have one question. How do you all decide on what parks to go to and which days? I know extra park hours have some influence but what else? We will be driving down to help save on money! Thank you for your help in advance!

We are only doing 4 days of parks, so I based which park on what days on PM EMHs. There is no way my family is going to get up early enough on vacation to make a RD for an AM EMH. Once I saw what parks had PM EMHs during our stay, I only had two park days left. Since we're going to the MK on our last night (for MNSSHP) I put that as the park for our 2nd day and the AK for our 4th park day.

We do the same.

First we look at specific events (lke MNSSHP).

Then we plan around EMH. I'll usually go for evening EMH.

Usually try to give ourselves a break a day during the week-- 2/3 park days, a day of nothing, another 2 park days... it's less strenuous that way. It is a vacation after all :rotfl:

I use the crowd calendar on easywdw.com as a starting point but then base it on dining and other things we may do.

Anyone else going in September 2013?

Have you booked, and are you celebrating anything special? :-)

September 2013 WDW! :-)

We are going 9/21-9/29. We just booked last week. We are staying at All Star Music. We are celebrating our rainbow baby's (DS) first birthday!!

How wonderful! I had to turn to urban dictionary for the term "rainbow baby" and now I know how special this is for you. Have a wonderful celebration together in the most magical place on earth!

Just doing a little happy dance! Wife and I got married on 9-10-11 and have yet to go to WDW as husband and wife. Couldn't afford it until they released FD, which happened to be during our anniversary!!! Wow - it was meant to be :dance3:

:jumping1::jumping1::jumping1::jumping1::jumping1:

I'm having an impatient day.

I can practically feel myself on Splash Mountain right now...

I am trying to do some work, something a bit tedious and not very mental, so I'm sitting her doing it with Disney movies on all day... started with Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping beauty...

Some days I just want to go nuts. This is one of the biggest most exciting trips we've ever planned, and I haven't been there in a year. I'm getting crazy waiting :hourglass

We went last year in September with our (then)5 year old. We felt like we missed out on a lot.. He was super cranky the entire 8 days. Definitely had a case of sensory overload. :crazy2:

I'm not sure how it happened, but we agreed we need to come back without our son, during September (we were so spoiled at how empty the parks were!), and thought this year would be perfect. :cool1: I'm playing around with dates now, trying to figure out when the best time would be. Either September 7-14, or 17-24. It all depends on how much disruption and confusion I want to cause. :lmao:

Good luck! Besides being a little older, you both have a better idea of what to expect. Make some happy memories this time!

We are joining the fun from Sept. 25-Oct. 4! Staying at Pop w/ Free Dining!!! My almost 4 year old is psyched because he is finally tall enough to go on Star Tours!
But man, there is no availability at Be Our Guest AT ALL during the time we are there. Anyone holding onto an extra dinner ressie during that time and want to coordinate when you call and cancel? Would make my day!!!!

It took me about 2-3 weeks checking online several times a day and eventually we hit a cancellation at just the right time. Good luck! We are excited to try out this restaurant when we go in September. :-)

For those who are unable to acquire that elusive BOG adr, do make a point of lunching there! It is a wonderfully themed restaurant and the casual lunch arrangement allows you to take a good look around at all three rooms. Lunch delivery under the glass trollies is a treat and using the magic rose hockey puck is fun too! Don't be deterred by the line. Our wait from the end of the bridge was 25 minutes in Feb.

thanks for this - I was definitely put off seeing the queues for lunch - but may add it to our schedule if I can persuade DH to wait that long :)

We definitely plan on doing lunch there... hopefully on a Monday in September the lines shouldn't be too bad.

I am probably over thinking this :scratchin but can not decide between two sets of dates. September 7-14 or September 14-21?!? Either time frame will work for us. Just wondering about if one is better for Disney, as far as crowds/weather/events? Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance! :thumbsup2

Last year we were there for the earlier week and had amazing low crowds, so we booked it for this year too. Last year the week after was a little more crowded, but for this year you never know.

Most of the variables will be the same for either week, and there will be Halloween party events at MK both weeks. Either way enjoy your trip, it is a great time to be at WDW.
