Deluxe Dining plan exlusions?

My apologies if this has been asked before - I've scoured the boards and have only found something from 2007 (or something like that), so if this has been asked and answered, I'd appreciate someone posting the link for me.

My BF and I are debating splurging for our next trip to WDW and getting (or upgrading to) the deluxe dining plan. So...I am trying to find out if there are any exclusions on the current dining plan.

Specifically, looking for menu items that are excluded. We are considering Narcoossee's for dinner and see that there is a "surf & turf" on the menu for $66 and a lobster tail for $65 - all other entrees are considerably less and wondering if those 2 are included or if there's an up-charge. Also, there are a lot of restaurants that have cheese boards but are not labeled "for two" and I wonder if those are included as single apps - stuff like that.

There are very, very few exclusions. These are the ones I remember.

Kitchen Sink sundae at Beaches & Cream
3 course prix fixe at Flying Fish
Additional charges - for ordering prix fixe multicourse menus at Marrakesh or Monseiur Paul

The lobster and surf & turf at Narcoosees are included.
Many places will allow you to get a cheese selection as your appetizer (if you're on the deluxe plan) or as your dessert.

We just returned from 7 nights on DxDP. We were able to get the surf and turf. I was able to do scallops with the NY strip and the guys had lobster tail with the NY strip.
Our waiter told us that we could do scallops or lobster tail, the scallops option was not listed on the menu.

But do keep in mind that Narcoosee's is a Signature Dining Experience and will cost you 2 table service credits on both the "regular" and deluxe DDP. Most of the restaurants that have the majority of their entrees in the above $30 range are the signature restaurants.

Thanks flamark - we are considering the DxDP specifically so we can try some of the signature restaurants. 3 sit-down meals a day is way too much food so we're mostly planning 2 sit-down meals a day with snacks or shared QS meals as the 3rd.

I get the cheese plate for my dessert at almost every signature on the deluxe plan because I do not have a big sweet tooth. But I love cheese

You can get 1 roll for an app and then 1 roll for an entree

At Tokyo Dining, the separate sushi menu is not included on DDP. You can get sushi as part of a platter on the main menu, but you can't order individual rolls off the sushi menu.

The sushi at Wolfgang Puck: The Dining Room is ALL considered an entree. There is one that was only $15 or so but it was still an entree.

Thanks so much! I'll check it out when I get home. We've put together our own spreadsheet (I'm totally Type A!!) and it looks like we would definitely get our money's worth but will be curious to see what we come up with using someone else's spreadsheet.

I am a budget queen and if we were paying OOP for meals, we would certainly be eating more QS, sharing meals and using the room fridge for breakfast items and that would probably be cheaper than the dining plan, but we like the freedom to try lots of different restaurants and the high-end places without having to worry about the prices.

That's good that you're thinking about it. Always plan to do what you want to do when calculating the various options. For example, if you were going to compare the DDP and OOP, don't tell yourself, "For the DDP, I won't get appetizers, and OOP, I'll get the appetizers, but never any dessert to save money." No. Do an apples-to-apples comparison and make it realistic.

Buying breakfast for everyone instead of sharing is a convenience. If that's what you want, do it.
