Epcot's morning opening music?

You know how there is an opening countdown every morning at Epcot before they open completely and let you into the rest of the park? I never really paid close attention to the music playing during and directly after the countdown until a few years ago. I actually listened and tried to hear the music that was playing during the countdown. To my surprise, I thought i heard the score "Flying" from the 2003 Peter Pan movie. This movie is my favorite and "Flying" is the theme song of it, so I know what it sounds like. I kind of doubted that they really played that song because that Peter Pan movie wasn't a Disney movie. So I went back again later during that year and heard it again. I'm pretty sure that it is "Flying". I was just curious if anyone else has heard it before or if anyone could validate that it really is that song that is playing. Thanks!

Not familiar with that, as there is no longer any "inside the park" Rope Drop Ceremony at Epcot.

(Maybe you mean OUTSIDE the park gates.)

Regardless, Disney most definitely HAS used that music in the past.
It was the music used on their national TV commercial campaign for the year, a couple of years ago.
HERE is a Disney spot with that music track.
(There are many others.)

And, yes, it is not from a Disney film.
They paid for the rights to use it in spite of that fact.

I'd not be surprised if they are still using it in some capacity at the parks.

Yes, that was one of my favorite parts of Epcot rope drop! It was definitely the Peter Pan music. I will forever associate it with the speed walk to Soarin, as well as Year of a Million Dreams

It's a pretty common practice to pay for the rights to use music from other sources. If you listen closely, you'll notice that a lot of movie previews use the soundtrack from "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves." Ostensibly, because it is a heroic theme, but generic sounding enough that people don't readily identity it with the movie it originally came from.

Thank you so much for answering my question! It was just a random thought that was bugging me. Also, when I went to the opening of Epcot for the day, it was a in-park rope drop. The last time I went that early in the morning to Epcot was last year, so they may have stopped the in-park rope drop. Thanks again!
