October 2013 Code Watch?!

I was told June 17th by a CM (in managment) after a not so "Magical" phone call.....is when the next "offer" would be published (which is a Monday) - Visa???

This is kind of exciting!!:thumbsup2 Like I said earlier in a post, the CM I talked to this morning said she thought they would know about Oct discounts either this month or next (June). I have never had a CM tell me that in all the many calls I have made. Usually they go the complete opposite with they don't know of anything in the future.

I think I am just trying to grasp on to any kind of hope for a discount!:goodvibes:goodvibes

If I can't be one of the lucky ones to receive one of those awesome pins then I would at least like to know something before July or August!:)

I had a CM tell me a couple of weeks ago, June would be when October promotions come out. I luckily received a PIN for FD last weekend. But my fingers, toes and eyes are crossed for everyone else who's going in October to get FD! :)

For anyone who is booked around Oct 6-13:

Have you guys noticed many of the deluxe resort categories are booked, and some of them are booked altogether? I guess for the Gartner symposium?

I think this a really bad sign for us to get a room discount. Why discount resorts that are already booked? :(

Sad when I played with booking a mid-September room at Beach Club or even the Poly with 30% off, and it's around the same price as I'm paying for POR on my dates. :sad1:

I really can't change my dates.

Just had to vent somewhere.

Many YC/BC rooms are also booked for mid- to late Oct too. :sad1: We were contemplating a split stay, but will probably just stick with POR or maybe a AKL split instead. Not sure if it might be because of F&W too?

You know, I know it's just a crazy rumor, but at this point I'll take it. Anything to keep my promotion hope alive. Also, it would be way more convenient to hear if there is a promo before I book the airline tickets.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of us!!!!

We're booked the 8-14 at POFQ. Do you have AAA? That is the only discount I was able to get for that time. While it's not a huge discount, every little bit helps.

Just received 3 emails from Disney Destinations (3 different email accounts), and there was no mention of FD. :headache: I got my hopes up there for a moment after hearing the FD chatter...

Me, too. I am trying to look on the bright side and think that at least I know I'm on the mailing list. Maybe we'll get lucky if they send a second round.

Ha ha, I was thinking that too! :lmao: That and DH didn't even get an email, and his email is on the reservation/My Disney Experience. There's still time... :goodvibes

I noticed that on some previous posts that there seems to be a logic behind the PIN Email. In our case my wife booked our last Disney Vacation under her account and email and all that she received was a room discount that was, if I remember, only 20% for moderate and it expired on May 15.

I booked our trip three years ago under my account and I got the free dining PIN. It seems that if Disney feels that you have not been there in a while (through your booking account) then they are giving the incentives to those people. A suggestion to some people is to create a different account and book using these different accounts so that you have a ability to play the odds. It does not help for this year but maybe in the future it will work.

Actually, this would make sense. They usually give a discount a few days after the current promotion ends. The summer RO deal must be booked by June 14th.
My question is wil they just give us a new RO deal or will they extend the FD deal with added dates? Historically, can any one give an educated guess?

My check-in is not part of the current dates on the free dining pin...really hoping for something for the general public that we can use on our honeymoon Oct 6-15!

We haven't been since 2010, my parents since 2007 and my cousin since 1996 and none of us got a pin at all. So I really think there is no rhyme or reason. They are just random.

I thought they were random too until .....

In late 2009 I booked a trip for October 2010 and paid the deposit. A couple of months later we decided not to do the trip so I called and cancelled it. Well, less than a month after cancelling I got my 1st (and so far only) pin code e-mail. It was a 30% off RO discount. We couldn't pass that up so we took the October 2010 trip.

i just had the worst experience...
i called for my lunch break to see if there was a pin attached to my name, the gentleman was very nice. he asked what type of discount i was looking for i said if free dining would be available i would love that. he then stated he could give me free dining but i would have to arrive a day earlier(Oct 2). I couldnt do that but my boss said it was okay to move the dates back. He then offered me Oct 18. I said i would take it. He went to apply the free dining but then said that the room i had reserved didnt qualify and asked if i would like for him to try the Coronado Springs and i said sure. He then placed me on hold.... Guess what phone disconnects. When i call back i am told that because there was no pin under my name... they couldnt help me. She was more then ready to cancel my reservation when i threatened to do so...... so then i asked to speak to someone to complain. They connected me to someone in Guest Services. He took my information down and stated that he wanted to look into what happened and see what he could do to help me out.... He then asked if i would like to stay in the room i already have booked, i said it didnt matter i was just interested in the free dining i was offered.... He asked for a number to call me back. He then stated he would get back with me by that time tommorrow..... What do you think will come of this? Do you think they will honor the offer?

Ugh, I am so sorry. I hope that you get your free dining. I think that I would cry if that happened to me. I can not stop thinking about that stupid pin!

My husband and I were talking about this earlier. I'd cry and my husband said he'd stroke. Just because you get so excited that you have FD and than it gets taken away. I was ecstatic when I got FD....

I would have thought the original booking guy would have phoned you back after being disconnected? I thought one or two of the CMs have said that in the past, asking for my number in case we were disconnected. When they introduce themselves I always get their name written down, just in case......I would be so upset if I had FDing and then that happened :(
