Any DVC resort with a food court?

I'm looking to make a reservation for a 2 bedroom villa, for my family and my sister's family. We need something that is very kid-friendly, for a November trip.

We really like the food court area at Pop Century and Port Orleans.

Our home resort is OKW and the only quick service there is the little area by the water.

Thanks so much!

Deluxe resorts don't really have food courts. All have some type of food either in the resort or close by but nothing like a food court.

No true food courts, per se, but I think the 2 best quick service restaurants for DVC would be Artist's Palette at SSR or Contempo Cafe at the CR near BLT. And of those 2, I think Artist's Pallette has a bit more variety.

OKW has Good's Food to Go, standard counter service fare, and Turtle Shack at Turtle Krawl pool (more limited menu, but still has sandwiches, hot dogs, nachos, etc.).

When we've stayed at various resorts we've enjoyed:
AKV - Mara
BLT - Contempo Cafe
OKW - Good's Food to Go
SSR - Artist's Palette

BWV - Bakery in the morning, but I hear the expanded menu is better there now after the remodel.

I second this - with Mara being my favorite, but I ate breakfast every morning at OKW with no issues. The worst place was probably BWV (and of course that has to be my favorite resort...)

Exactly. When you upgrade to DVC or Deluxe, you have to give up the idea of frequent food court usage.

At a value, I'd eat at the food court multiple times per trip. Now, I only plan to eat 1 time at a resort's counter service. (I might change plans and eat 2x if I like the DVC option first time)

Instead of leaving a park, then go to your food court..eat at the park, then go back to the resort.

I do agree with Mara offering the best variety (for my plain taste family) plus enough different options for me, and Zebra Domes!:cool1:

AP at SSR has a nice breakfast menu, but its a useless option when you are stuck in a 45 minute line just to place an order pirate: (the wait is bad enough to have a mention on the resort TV telling you to avoid those times) and my plain family hates the rosemary roasted chicken aroma during lunch / dinner.

My family really likes WL for quick dining (no true food court but many dining options).

We spend more time at our resort with DVC so take advantage of food in our room dining more so than when we spent trips at moderate resorts with food courts.

If you stay at one of the Boardwalk resorts you'll have a lot of dining options, again no food court, but lots of choices and take out pizza.

BWV is very limiting in food selection if you are using DDP QS credits (although its slightly better than it used to be since you can pool a few QS credits on a pizza, but its still a bad Disney Pizza)
If you are paying cash, then the vendor carts give many more quick options.

Its hard to fault BWV since nearby EPCOT has the best QS selection on property ;)

I agree the Mara is probably the closest to a food court style. We really like the Contempo and Roaring Fork as well. BWV is probably the weakest for QS options.

No deluxe resort has a food court and the DVC villas are considered deluxe.

I think you made a good choice. We have a by young child and sometimes getting somewhere else to eat is not that easy! We found that okw and beach club had very limited counter service options. We really enjoy the counter service at ssr and then you can boat or walk to Dtd too!

SSR also has easy access to Downtown Disney for dining choices ... Earl of Sandwhich, anyone?

Yes, being that close to DTD helped make the decision. Now I need to start a new thread about "date night" restaurants. Since my sister and brother in law are going, we are going to take turns baby sitting each other's kids so we can each have a date night.

Too many great choices!!!

I would have agreed with you on this except now I think the BWV has surpassed OKW since the Bakery has been renovated. Goods to Go at OKW is the weakest now, IMHO.

We love OKW, but not big fans of Goods to Go. So we drive over to the food court at POR a lot when we stay at OKW. Besides the custom made salad, we love that they have Caffeine-Free Diet Coke. That's why we get the refillable mug when we stay at OKW-to use at POR! Oh, and DH says to add that POR food court has great sundaes!

Thanks for that tip! OKW is our home resort, so that is useful. We usually don't have a car, but when we do, we will drive over to POR :cool2:
