Someone mentioned a sofeware program that was excellent in removing the noise from using high ISO settings.
What was this program again?
Old age and CRS kicking in again.
LR stands alone. They have a trial version you can sign up for online. If you decide to buy it and have a student in the home, find an educational software seller online for the best deals.
What Ver. is Lightroom at now, 4?
Also is the student ver the same as the full ver.

The versions are identical. And they are very lenient in terms of the education discount. A child in kindergarten qualifies.
Out of curiosity, I just downloaded the trial version of Topaz denoise. It's impressive... I'd say it's *slightly* better than Lightroom. Of course, Lightroom does far far more than just remove noise.
So does Topaz stand alone?
Which one would you choose if you could only purchase one of them?
Lightroom 4 is good removing noise but i have to tell you I am very impressed with Nik Define2. It has the ability to analyze the photo and add noise reduction to specific parts of the photo where it detects excessive noise. I have been using that since i purchased the complete collection a few weeks ago.
Well I'm sold on Lightroom.
Now which noise removing software plug-in works good with it?
