What is your not so normal item to pack, which is helpful while at WDW ?

Might be strange
I bring boxed wine.
I like to relax with a little vino sometimes after a day in the parks. To save money I packed boxed wine in my checked bag. Whatever we don't drink will get left behind but since it is cheaper than buying there I do not mind too much.

:snail:

I'm sorry. Can you please clarify? I'm not sure what you mean by leftover wine... It always seems to disappear here...

It's improbable but still possible... If we are too tired every night we might not finish. MIGHT being the important rule.

Wow..that is an awesome site. We've used the coca-cola and NEVR dull with success. I never heard of ketchup!

Ketchup is the BEST while in the parks if you need to clean a dirty penny. Let's face it, you can get ketchup almost anywhere! I just soak it in a glob for a few minutes and then polish it with a napkin.

Plastic grocery bags. I bring plenty of clean ones and always have one or two with me in the Parks. They can be folded VERY small. You can use them for so many things:

Protect purses/hair/camera/etc from rain

Carry extra Purchases.

Sit on them while watching parades, etc.

Protect feet on Splash Mountain

Pill bottles and m&m's containers are great for stashing grocery bags.

I am a huge fan of ziplocks, too. 1 big one for stashing wet ponchos. 1 sandwich size bag for stashing my tradable pins, 1 for stashing the pins I trade for each day (the ones that go on my lanyard I lock into place at night). One for stashing the electronics if it rains, or we are on a water ride. A couple extras if we have left over non-messy snacks from meals.

I have some reusable totes from Disneystore.com. They fold flat in my suitcase, but they are great for stashing kids goodies each night. 1 bag per kid, at the end of the night, all souvenirs go into their bag. They can get them out and play with them, take items with us, whatever, but it's a good way to keep the room more organized at the end of the night.

Small collapsible laundry hamper from the dollar store- great for dirty clothing, and keeping it off the floor. And, it has straps, so if I need to do a load of laundry, I just haul it down.

Small collapsible bins for the bathroom. Keep the area organized by keeping it sorted. Hair stuff in 1 bin. Makeup in another. Toothpaste and brushes in another, etc. keeps the counter space clear, and you know where stuff is.

Love this! We drive to WDW & I stuff plastic bags in everry nook & cranny in the van before we leave because we always seem to need them on the road for something. It never occurred to me that they could be used & disposed of in the parks for something like parade seating or Splash. I learn something new every time I get on this site! THANK YOU! :thumbsup2

Space Saver Coat Bag

Here's what you do pack complete outfits. I hang them on flat hangers. Holds

about 10 compete outfits. Unpacking is breeze just open suitcase and hang up

it up. I put all dirty clothes in garbage bag in suit case.

I agree about bringing the plastic grocery bags!! We bring a ton for what you've mentioned, and since I didn't buy the suitcase packing blocks or whatever they're called, what I did was fold clothes into plastic bags so there wasn't a lot of wiggle room in the suitcase and placed clothes in bags snugly and that prevented them from getting all wrinkled like they normally do. Also use bags for dirty socks and underwear.

I must say the most unusual thing to pike is pinkxav or bordeauxs butt paste. Chaffing is a huge issue with all the walking

There is a product called Body Glide available on Amazon I bought for us. It looks like a deodorant stick and goes on easily. I tested it this weekend and it worked wonders. Can't wait for the parks.

I have seen the Body Glide at Dick's Sporting goods too ...back in the shoe dept. - I guess marathon runners and tri-athletes use it a lot. They have several similar products so you can probably find one that will work for you.

I tried a few to see which one would work best for me. Us ladies have chaffing issues in some sensitive areas and I have sensitive skin anyway. I found a product that Monistat makes called "Soothing Care" at Walmart. (They keep it with the other Monistat products even though they have nothing in common but the manufacturer.) It goes on like a powder-gel and dries to a really soft almost silky feeling. It isn't greasy and doesn't stain your clothing like some of the products used by athletes. And I haven’t had to reapply it like some of the others. It even keeps damp bra bands from chaffing under the girls. Oh…and it’s fragrance-free…a must for me.

That stuff is AMAZING! I always throw a tube in my bag for the parks, after a few hot & sweaty days SOMETHING starts getting rubbed the wrong way, lol. The bra strap is a great idea, I've also used it for irritating buttons or zipper areas & in between my toes midway through the day.

DH used it on his feet last time out of desperation because ne made that rookie mistake of not breaking his new pair of sneakers in before the trip. By day #3 of 6 he was aching & the blisters he'd developed were getting more & more irritated. So I told him I had "something" that would help without explaining what the product was....I knew he'd balk at it being a "feminine" product..... by the 3rd time he used it (the next afternoon) he finally read the package & got this look of horror that I will never forget. Still, he couldn't deny how much it helped his achy blisters! :lmao:

I'm not sure if I've posted it before but I pack a binder cover in my bag. I know it sounds weird but it's worked well for me.

I like to buy the photos packages offered at restaurants like CRT and Tusker House (especially now that they're included in PP+). I want to keep them safe while enjoying the parks so I invented my photo protector!

I cut the cover off of a used binder (the kind with the clear plastic covering). I throw it it my park bag and store my photos in the front plastic cover). It's sturdy enough to keep them from being bent and the cover keeps them dry.

These are probably mentioned, but a few of my favorite not-so-normal things...

1. Pop up hamper - this is super easy to pack and it really helps keep the room tidy - with 5 of us, it's important. It makes carrying the dirty to the laundry (only on longer trips) easy too. To go with this Purex laundry sheets, roll of quarters.

2. Snack suitcase - I bring a box of wine, fits great in frig. I bake several loaves of banana bread for breakfast - bake, slice, butter, freeze, pack before we leave, still cold when we get there! It's nice to have a little taste of home for breakfast! I pack a smaller suitcase with the breakfast bars, Monster trail mix from Target, candy, gum, bananas, apples, Minute Maid juice boxes for the kids, crackers, pringles, cheese (again, freeze, pack morning of, works great) and diet cokes. Then we have an empty suitcase for souvenirs for the flight home - this is always necessary! Saves money on breakfast and afternoon, evening snacks.

but I haven't seen anyone else with one. :rotfl:

But my favorite thing to take is my "cooldana". It is a neckwrap filled with water absorbing beads. I put it in the sink the day I arrive, let it soak up water for a couple of hours, then put it in the fridge overnight. Take it to the park in my cooler, and by noon-thirty when I'm feeling hot and tired, I tie it on like an ascot. That coolness really helps perk me up for the next several hours.

I'm making my own before we go. Got fabric on clearance and sewing it up with the polymer beads that expand. Spent $12-$15 to make 5.

I love this idea. I have started saving the crystal light style containers. So far I have 3 or 4 stuffed in there and still have room. I figure I can easily get 4 or 5 before our trip (sept) and that way we have the plastic bags contained and I can throw a container in my camera bag I tote in the park. Great idea!! Plus we have the containers to store extra fast passes, the "not-a-FP", and any other little item!
