We have stayed at the BC several times, but never at the YC. My question is about the room and views of the CL. I think the only CL room view available is Standard view...description says view of Rooftop or Parking Area...do any of you have experience with one of these rooms? I don't know what to request as far as area or is Standard Level not really all that great...
Any advice will be appreciated.

Hi the view is not that great from the room we stayed in.

I agree -- the standard view isn't great. I think the GV rooms are the best, but there are very few CL rooms like that and they fill up quickly. We chose LV last time since GV was all filled... very nice view, but SV CL is a better deal.

I am leaning toward the Lagoon View and just ditching the Club Level...unless I get some REALLY great response:rotfl: but at this point I havent read much about a good view with Standard CL

This probably doesn't help because the chances aren't great, but we had booked a YC SV CL last month and ended up being upgraded to Lagoon View. :goodvibes

So obviously I can't comment on the standard view. :upsidedow

To be honest although the Lagoon View is pretty, it has downsides too. If you are close to the pool it gets noisy, even at night and there are a LOT more lights if you are easily bothered by light pollution that could also be an issue. We have never stayed SV at the YC, but the CL basically has the SV and its not that bad. Although the LV is nice, I would rather have the CL than the view.

I've had standard, garden, and lagoon view rooms at YC CL. Lagoon view was a free, completely unexpected upgrade and that was very nice, but I wouldn't pay extra for it. The garden view room I had last year overlooked the wedding gazebo so it was quiet, but after thinking about it, I decided not to pay extra for it again. I use my balcony for morning coffee and afternoon reading, but I think I've come to terms with being OK with standard view.

Keep checking for a GV. I was stuck with the SV CL for awhile before a GV CL finally opened up.

How many people (over age 3) in your traveling party? If you have 5 or more, then I think that SV or WV are the only rooms you can book at YC club level.

I have started a Room View thread for the Yacht Club and the Beach Club. I only have one posting for SV (CL) so far- here is the link to the links:

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!! natebenma~I have read your thread but I will go back and look with that link!
I have 5 in my family, but I think my oldest ds who is going to be a Sr in high school is not going this trip....so that's okay...
I know once we went to the BC and had Standard and it was a rooftop with vents! it was really ugly! LOL..we tried to decide if we could live with it and just couldn't so we went back down and switched rooms...the kids were little then and we spent some time out there so it was important for us that trip....not sure how much room time we will have this trip, but we are tossing around the need for CL or not this weekend...want to book tomorrow! Thanks for all the suggestions.

We stayed Standard View Club Level a year ago and are doing so again in a couple of months. We didn't really notice the view as being unpleasant. Frankly, we don't recall what it was. But, for us, the CL experience was top notch (and we have experices at GF RPC, WL CL, AKL CL, BC CL, BWI CL to compare it with). If I were you, I would stay with CL and not be too concerned about the view.

Thank you! I am going back & forth....take it for what it is,,or just skip CL and go for the water view...I dont think we are doing the DDP so its gonna come in handy with CL.

I may have misspoken about the YC situation. I just went back to my notes- for YC CL GV, there are 5 rooms. Two of these rooms have king beds and two have daybeds- not sure if these are separate rooms... BUT i also have quotes from two guests who had 2 Queens and a daybed in the room, and gave me different room numbers. So it sounds like there are configurations that would work for you, and in fact the odds are pretty good (2 out of 3 since you wouldn't be given a King Bed room presumably)

If you don't happen to get a room with a daybed, remember that you can request a rollaway, free of charge, for your stay.

Now at the BC, there are 9 GV CL rooms. Although one of these rooms does have a daybed, they are no longer booking this category for families of 5.

Sorry about any confusion or panic I caused. I am much more familiar with the situation at the BC.

+1 to this. I have stayed at YC CL more than a dozen times (with other CL stays at GF, BC, BWI, BC and WL). Sometimes I have stayed in a lagoon view room and other times in a standard view room. While I certainly prefer the lagoon view room, I have never been put off by the views from the standard view rooms.

If I had to choose between the view and staying club level, I would definitely choos staying club level.

Dee, thank you for all of your investigating on our behalf:flower3: I was just curious, no panic here :cool1: I'll just put daybed preferred as my request and see what happens....and it certainly won't bother me if they have to share a bed :crowded:

Well, I called today and switched us from Standard View, Club Level, to a NOT Club Level Garden View...with request to have Gazebo view...hopefully, it was the right move! I feel much better about the whole "garden view"..don't care if we don't actually see the gazebo,...our last year at the BC we actually had a view of a tree that was outside an eating area somewhere...not even sure where it was...behind the solarium maybe? Anyway...it was probably not chosen as the best view, but it was quiet, lots of grass & a big beautiful tree! so, I know any Garden view will be okay! thanks for all the comments & suggestions!
