Coronado Springs Resort - New Unofficial FAQ Thread - November 2012

I got a free dining PIN e-mail on Thursday and booked CSR Friday. :goodvibes

We are going down Oct 30th - November 5th.

Now I am a deluxe girl for sure. I have done a value once and a moderate once on trips with my dance studio ... but for family trips we always go deluxe.

Not this time!!! ... I am taking the moderate plunge. I really like what I see from CSR threads and I did book business class because I love the fact that we can grab a quick/light breakfast in the AM and not use our snack credit.

I just couldn't get past the $1000 savings this time. LOL. Plus, I wanted to try something different.

My kids are all teenagers now so I plan on having some relaxing time while they go to Disney Quest and some other things. I can't wait to sit by the pool or in a hammock while sipping a frozen drink!

I have not stayed at CSR since they added the Business Class. So if yu are not staying Business Class or Preferred are you almost guaranteed Ranchos section?

Not necessarily true, my stay in January was not preferred or bus. class and we were in Casitas 4 :goodvibes

No, there is Casitas 4 & 5, Cabanas 8A, 8B, & 9A, as well as Ranchos 6 & 7. We had Casitas 4 last time and loved it.

Anyone still enjoy CSR with young kids? Our oldest will be 5 and youngest will be a week shy of 2.. We booked CBR because of the pool and pirate ship area, thought it looked better for us but I cant stop thinking about how beautiful the CSR rooms are. :(

The pool and surrounding area at CSR is great for kids as well. There is no Pirate Ship, but a large pool with a large play area for kids. I would say with the exception of the ship the pool area at CSR is a touch better for kids.

CSR is very centrally located and with the exception of DTD the bus rides are very short so I don't find standing that big of a deal.

Thank you! Like I said I don't mind crowded or standing, but I hate waiting for a second bus because the first one is full. I'm not hearing that is too much of an issue, so I think I'll go with business class.

My oldest has always loved CSR, ever since he was a little guy. He always loved the Dig Site pool and jaguar slide. The playground at CSR is great, too. I haven't seen pics of the CBR playground, but the one at CSR has swings (which a lot of the resort playgrounds do not, most just have climbers). We stayed at CSR when he was 1 and again when he was 5, 6 and 8. I don't remember him playing in the pool on our first visit there, but there is a small toddler area that's about ankle-deep on me. It's not a huge area like I think the pirate area at CBR is, though.

Truthfully, the kids will probably be happy wherever you are happy. They aren't likely to care too much about room decor or the scenery at the resort. They won't have any other resort to compare to, you know? The oldest will likely be happy to be at Disney World and have a pool to go to. At this point, my kids have stayed in a few different Disney resorts and even so, are generally happy wherever we stay, as long as we're at WDW.

No matter what you decide, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful vacation!

Thank you for the replies...
The only reason I am leaning more towards the CBR area is the kids both can actually play/splash and have fun without DH or me being right up on them... We can actually sit down and enjoy too.. But then again.. CSR is sooooo beautiful looking! LOL

Yeah, it isn't fenced off like CBR is. CBR is a beautiful resort as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there in 2008. We just like CSR a little bit more and have settled in on it being our regular resort.

Just booked my parents for June 6 - 12th. Their first stay at Coronado!!

I am so excited for them. I have not stayed at CSR, but the resort looks beautiful :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear what they think!!!

StitchandPooh'sMom,

I don't know if anyone has informed you of this yet or not, but there is a convention, Home Based Travel Agent Forum, to be held here October 28-30, 2013. Just thought I'd pass this on for your list!

Thanks very much! :goodvibes I have been busy planning a non-WDW trip and haven't been watching this thread very closely. I will add it to the list. :)

We just spent a week at CSR with our DDs, DD7 and DD9 and they loved it! They loved the playground, arcade, pyramid pool, and the Pepper Market. They have a small pool with fountains for little ones in the back patio of the pyramid pool.
