I just read tikiman s page but it isn't showing dates. Will construction be going on February 2014? Really want to stay here again but not if it is during construction.

Until construction actually starts anything concerning a schedule is just speculation. Disney doesn't publish construction schedules and even Tikiman doesn't know where they would start with the construction. I think it is highly unlikely that Disney would spend the money to refurbish Tahiti and Rapa Nui if one was schedule for conversion and the other scheduled to be torn down any time in the near future. So even if construction starts in 2014 it would most likely be over toward the GF and not noticeable to the vast majority of the people staying at the Poly. Since the Poly has a very high occupancy rate I don't think Disney is going to want to take very many of the rooms out of service at once.

I don't know what the current DVC inventory is but I don't think they are going to want to adding more if there is a significant number of DVC units unsold at the existing DVC resorts (including the GF DVC units).

So I would recommend that you not make plans based on the assumption that construction is going to start around any specific dates until there is more definitive information released. You can always modify your plans if it does turn out that there would be significant construction that would interfere with your plans.

Don't forget that some people changed their reservations based on scheduled maintenance of the Volcano pool that didn't happen. ;)

The only reference I've seen to a one-king-bed room is the honeymoon suite. Is it possible to request that at the Poly?

The honeymoon suite is in the Tonga longhouse and it is not a room request, you have to book that specific room. I think it pretty much stays booked so you might have to try to book it as far in advance as possible. It also helps to have a pretty substantial bank account: ;)

thanks so much! We were there this year when talk of the volcano pool construction was happening. Am sooooo happy we didnt switch as we LovEd the poly!!!!

Ok, I'm finally going to try and upload resort specific clothing/ some merch. from Boutiki last week. First time adding pics, so I'm just going to try one first and see how it goes!

Thanks for posting the pictures, I want it All! :)

Yay it worked! But it's HUGE :rotfl: Oh well, here are the others...

These are so cute!! Has anyone ever seen any merchandise with the little Tiki guy from the signs that are all around the Poly (and on the garbage cans :))? My middle son just loves this guy - we took his picture with him whenever we saw that "logo" last year. He would just die if I could get him a t-shirt with the "tiki guy", but I've never seen anything - even asked CMs in the stores, but they didn't know :confused3

Enjoying all your photos, Jalaine - thanks!

Hi KOOK . Congrats on booking Poly CL. I can't wait to hear what you think of it. We are definitely staying there for 2 nights after our cruise in December and after reading all of the great reviews of CL lately, I am very excited about it :goodvibes. I just hope the DVC construction doesn't start before then as I really want to get 1 more Poly stay in before all of the construction mess begins :rolleyes1.
I'd be happy to post a little Poly/CL TR here in just about 2.5 months:)

Hi, I was wondering if anyone who has been this month happens to have a copy of the recreation/movie list. We just decided to add 2 nights at the end of our trip. Staying club level for the first time (TPV), and so excited!! I'm just trying to figure out which night would be better to plan to watch the movie on the beach, and also wanted to check the pool games schedule since there are a couple games that my girls really enjoy. Thanks so much!!
The monthly Poly activity calendar PDF is posted by The Mouse for Less HERE. Also, here is the GF CALENDAR.

Back from our 1st POLY stay. Poly is really nice. We had a lagoon view in Tahiti 1st floor as I had requested. Beautiful view of all those magical Disney icons, the Castle, the Monorail and the ferry boat. Food at this resort is great. Ohana's was good both breakfast & dinner. Kona was really enjoyable and Capt Cooks had some tasty food too. Love those pork nacho's !
Unfortunately our trip in general was not my fave. In fact, after spending close to $9000. on this trip DH is soooo disgusted it's doubtful we'll ever go back to DW. Maybe he just needs to calm down a bit but it really wasn't a good trip, esp considering the cost $$$$ ! He feels our money would have been better spent elsewhere Parks were a disaster ! IMO anyway...
Otherwise I do have to say, the POLY is now tied for my favorite resort, actually has a bit of a lead b/c of the transportation options. :thumbsup2 Just too bad it's about to change.
Construction was in full steam ahead mode on Tokelau. working even late at night doing painting. Too bad they are adding DVC to this resort and even the GF. Taking something away from it. But, it's all about the MONEY right?! Oh well, nothing we can do to change it :confused3 Disney is going to ruin a good thing IMO. There's so much undeveloped ground there...why ruin the resorts as they are. DVC is not going to make things better at these resorts that's for sure. Build elsewhere ! Say goodbye to quiet peacefulness of the POLY. I'm so glad I got to experience it before they ruin it. ;)
