Coming to you Live from Disney World!-Take 2 AUG/SEPT WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Next in were a couple more updates from StuffedwFluff.

The first was a snack update from...

"We had the cheesecake brownie and the peanut butter and chocolate cake bar. Both were amazing! I give a slight nod to the cheesecake brownie though."

I hadn't planned on taking a trip to the Boardwalk, but with all the pics and reviews of the Bakery, I think it's now a must do.

Last update for tonight is StuffedwFluff's dinner update from Downtown Disney's...

"We ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap...

Buffalo Chicken Wrap - grilled chicken, cheddar, romaine, tomato, buffalo sauce and ranch dressing

"The wrap surprised me when it was served cold. It was falling apart and messy, but it was good (and spicy!!)."

"The mess that was the wrap."

"The Original...

The Original 1762 - fresh roasted beef, cheddar and creamy horseradish sauce

"The Original was my favorite. What a great combo for a hot sandwich. The bread was amazing in both sandwiches."

"and the Earl's Club."

The Earl's Club - roast turkey, smoked bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce and roma tomato and sandwich sauce

"The club was a close second for me. I usually stay from bacon, pig is not my favorite meat, but this was so good."

Still loving all the updates that are coming in! (especially now that I have time to read them )

I agree with Ellen on Beach Club Marketplace's yogurt parfaits. They used to be so good when they were made to order (and you could add in fun mix-ins like chocolate chips). In fact, the Marketplace has lost some of its greatest assets over the years, such as its unique gelato section (which was replaced by generic pastries :sad2:).

And the Boardwalk Bakery updates continue to impress. The cheesecake brownie looks more appealing to me than before - maybe I'll add it to the ever-growing list. :thumbsup2

OK, so how do we start a campaign to ensure that they don't take away the La Vie En Rose Slushie after F&G ends :scratchin

Seriously people we can not let this happen

Who do I write to? ..... Robert Iger?

I HAVE TO HAVE IT :rotfl:

I love how busy this thread has been the last few days! :cool1:I just did online check-in for our trip (59 days!) I can't wait to be a part of it, even if my DH is like "OMG, you are seriously going to be taking pictures of food?" I'm pretty sure he thinks I have lost my mind. LOL!

No campaign necessary - you just have to come to WDW with me and Sian next March :thumbsup2

See DDW, now the cheesecake brownie looks LESS appealing to me than before (although I think it might be because it looks smaller) :rotfl2:

Hi DDW! Glad to hear that your schedule is a little more relaxed now, so we might be hearing from you more again here on the DIS. :thumbsup2

Oh, and Brenda reminded me that you had a birthday recently, a very important one, so on the behalf of all of us here on the Live Thread...

:jumping1: :cool1: :cheer2::tigger: :dancer: HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY !!! :mickeyjum:dogdance::banana: :woohoo:party:

Can you tell that we are all very excited for you??? ;)

Ok, I will come clean here and admit that I had the opportunity to have the La Vie en Rose slushie and never got around to it during my March trip. And an even bigger embarrassment is that I have been to the Boardwalk Bakery more times than I can possibly count but have never had the cheesecake brownie. :sad2:

I know, I know... I should be drawn and quartered. :worried:

I know, I know... I should be drawn and quartered. :worried:

Whoa, I just looked up the meaning of this expression.

Drawn = Disembowelment

Quartered = Body divided into 4 parts, then beheaded (Wait, then wouldn't that make 5??? :confused3)

So anyway, may I suggest that you just "temporarily" revoke my DIS membership card? :p :rotfl:

Ok, how about some updates now, starting with a couple of delicious leftovers from last night.

The first one is from StuffedwFluff, who while she had dinner at Earl of Sandwich last night, her in-laws dined at..

Artist Point

But at least they took a couple of pictures for us... ;)

Slow-cooked Crispy Chicken with loaded potatoes and caramelized broccoli

"My mother-in-law loved this. They slow cook it until the very last minute, then add batter and fry it."

Cedar-planked Salmon

"My father-in-law said the fish was good, but the sauce made it great."

Then our last update sent yesterday was from Krista (aladdinsgirl).

She said, "Tonight we had dinner at...

Be Our Guest

"The restaurant was gorgeous! But the service left a little to be desired. Our server was nice enough, but s-l-o-w. Our ADR was at 7:05 and we didn't walk out until 8:50. I'm not sure if we'll be back, at least for dinner, our food was okay, but Carter is so picky, he wouldn't try even a bite. Anyway, on to the good stuff!"

First some menu pics...

"The menu pics are pretty bad! It was so dark in there I was aiming my phone in the general direction and clicking the button." ;)

"This might be hard to see, but we had a table in the ballroom next to the windows where it was snowing."

Rose napkin...

Bread...

"Trio Salad. I didn't try this. Stephen said it was just okay. He didn't finish it though and he finishes everything."

Seasonal Salad Trio
Three Individual Bowls of:
Roasted Beet, Gold Raisin and Orange Salad
Green Been, Tomato and Roasted Shallot Salad
Watermelon, Radish, and Mint salad

"Kids Fruit Cup. I ate this, it was okay a lot of melons."

"Kids Macaroni with Marinara. Carter wouldn't touch it. The server did offer to bring him something else, but we declined."

"Grilled Strip Steak. Again, Stephen said it was just okay."

Grilled Strip Steak with garlic-herb butter and pommes frites

"Salmon. This was pretty good, but a very strong onion/leek taste, so if you don't like onions, you wouldn't like it. I only ate 2 or 3 bites, I'm not feeling so great today and wasn't hungry."

Pan-seared Salmon on Leek Fondue served with creamy saffron-crushed potatoes

"We did not order dessert, they looked good, but Stephen was full and I didn't want anything. One last pic on the way out:"

"I think we'll try lunch on the next trip!!" ;)

That's all I have time for this morning, but check back later for updates from Kouzzina (breakfast), Yak & Yeti, Sleepy Hollow, Afternoon Tea at the Garden View, and Via Napoli. And that's just what we've gotten so far this morning! :thumbsup2

Ok, this made me spit my soda! :lmao: You are too funny, Barb! So many updates today! Love, Love, LOVE this thread!

And alas, I did not try the La Vie En Rose slushie either. I don't even think I noticed it. Too focused on the grey goose one!

Our First Update of the Day was sent to us this morning by Gabrielle (gabzee).

Yesterday she and her mom had breakfast at...

"Mom got the Greek Yogurt with house made granola and berries. She loved this! This was right up her alley and she said everything was very fresh."

"I got the blueberry granola pancakes with a side of fruit instead of breakfast meat. The pancakes were nice and fluffy."

5 April Game Points Earned + 3 Bonus Points for sign and menu pics, First Update of the Day

And Gabrielle also sent us an update from their lunch yesterday at...

"We ordered the lettuce cups for an appetizer...

Lettuce Cups for Two - minced chicken breast, chopped vegetables, Saigon Hoison sauce, crisp lettuce cups

"This was a very big appetizer but it was good. We liked that we were able to add carrots and bean sprouts."

"I got the Miso Glazed Salmon...

Seared Miso Salmon - Miso-glazed Atlantic salmon, coconut-ginger rice, baby bok choy and shiitake mushroom stir-fry

"The salmon was delicious! The glaze complemented the salmon perfectly. I don't know what it is about the rice but it is so good!" :thumbsup2

"Mom got the Mandarin Chicken Salad...

Mandarin Chicken Salad - chilled chicken, romaine and iceburg lettuce, Mandarin oranges, almonds, sesame seeds, rice noodles and plum dressing

"She enjoyed this. It was a nice size salad."

Next we received some update from Jill (jedijill).

The first was a snack update from Magic Kingdom's...

Sleepy Hollow

Jill said, "Today started out with rope drop at MK. After riding a few rides and a game of Sorcerers of the MK, I stopped for a mid-morning snack of a Nutella Waffle from Sleepy Hollow."

"They make the waffles fresh with each order and they are delicious! I feel better about eating the snack with all the fruit they pile on!"

Then Jill sent an update from Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian Resort's...

Garden View Lounge

First some menu pics...

"I chose the Buckingham Tea. I had the Jade Leaf green tea which was very good."

Assortment of Tea Sandwiches

"You usually get a salmon sandwich, cucumber and watercress, pear and Gorgonzola, egg salad, and curried chicken sandwich but I asked for the salmon and cucumber sandwiches to be swapped with another chicken and pear sandwich. I love these sandwiches...the curried chicken is my favorite. The onion tart is sweet and yummy!"

"Next up is the scone with Devonshire cream and your choice of strawberry jam or lemon curd. I always get the lemon curd. Apparently, its the pastry chef's Austrian grandmother's recipe! The scone also comes with a strawberry jam tart. Yummy!"

"The final course is a choice of 2 pastries or strawberries and cream. I went with the beautiful and tasty strawberries and cream."
