These are NOT the rooms that I paid for! 3 Resorts in 10 days - Trivia Answers 9/3

Wow - just checked the trip report section for the first time in ages, only to see that you've been reporting all this time!

I clearly have a lot to catch up on, but the carrot cake cookie picture on this page is already a positive sign. Since finals are done now (and my summer internship doesn't start for 2 more weeks), I'm hoping to read every last update. :thumbsup2

We love Universe of Energy. As you said, Ellen is perfect for that attraction.

Sorry about the rain, but glad you had the rain ponchos. It's always tough going in a restaurant wet with as high as they usually have the air conditioning on. We really enjoyed our meal at Teppan Edo last December (minus the screaming child we had).

Beautiful pictures around your resort.

Wait! You don't like the Emporium? I suppose you are going to say that World of Disney is too large?? :rotfl:

You're going to laugh more when I tell you why I am slightly, and I do mean slightly, down on the Emporium ;) I can never find my family members once we split up in there! I mean, the store is practically the length of Main Street with so many exit/entry points. During our last trip, DFIL was waiting and looking for us at the Barbershop end while I was over on the bakery end! :rotfl:

Fun update! I'm interested to see the new Test Track. The pictures look interesting and it sounds fun to build your own.
DH comes out of Test Track and "decides" to buy a Camaro or something every time we come out of there! The fact that we don't act on his impulses is the only thing Chev is missing out on! :lmao:
I love those second floor balcony pics, just gorgeous!

Hi Wendy! Ha! Your DH is under the Disney spell! ;)

Mr. DDW!! I'm so excited to see you drop by!! :yay: I know life is crazy for your right now but I'm glad you stopped in. Glad to see finals behind you and that you have a little bit of a break for the next couple of weeks!

Hi Kathy! Yes, that AC when you are soaking wet is definitely no bueno! Been there with that one.

Oh yeah.... screaming kids at the same table don't make for a fun meal. And it's rather hard to be reseated when they are making your food right in front of you...;)

Ok, I totally get that. And no, I didn't even laugh! Ok, I may have giggled but I swear I didn't snort or anything unlady-like!

And now folks I must retire for the evening as Disney launches the room discounts in like 6 hours to the GP and I need to compete with all the folks racing for those discounts.

Sorry I have been MIA! I really HATE it when life interferes with the DIS!!!

But thanks to your handy-dandy chapter links (with extremely cute titles), I am all caught up! Had to skip the chatter, which makes me sad :( but the updates were fantastic.

Hope you were able to get in on the GP discount this morning. OK, maybe I didn't skip all of the comments...

Thanks so much for sharing all of those awesome pictures of the Yacht Club- your room, the spectacular view, the lobby and the grounds/outside:lovestruc

Back to HS- what a great suggestion to order the kids portion of fried chicken. The size looks perfect.

The picture of Em kicking Bo! :lmao::rotfl2:

The food at the Yachtsman looks super good! I'll link your review to the BC/YC board. I love the relationships you have formed with some of the waitstaff a various restaurants. What a great story about Ricardo! Your bloody Mary looks really good!

You may be one of the only people I know who has been on a mission to ride Maelstrom! GREAT picture of the troll in the water or wood spirit or whatever it is.

I think I have a warning in one of my trip reports about the price of the "Fill your own bag of candy" The prices are given per quarter pound, so it doesn't look so bad when see $3.25. But when you are paying the same price per pound as you would for a really good steak, or twice the price per pound than for a Maine Lobster- there is something wrong! But what else can you do when you have a craving for gummy sharks??? :confused3

Sounds like you had some fun in EPCOT despite of the rain.

Can't wait to check out Test Track. It was closed during our class trip in June, so it wil be fun to ride again.

I love the Universe of Energy. Heck, I even enjoyed it before Disney added the really great Ellen/Jeopardy/Bill Nye parts.

Teppen Edo used to be a go-to place when Mark and I visited Disney as a couple. We went once with the boys and friends of our back in 2004, but we haven't been able to fit it in on subsequent trips.

Keep the great updates coming!!!

Soooo, how did it go? Did you get what you wanted? And when is your trip going to be?

Hi Dee! No worries... you keep pretty busy on the YC/BC thread!

Wow - you put the candy price into perspective! Lobster please! :teeth:

It must have been a snooze-fest before they added Ellen the Energey Universe show... unless they had the Dinosaurs snatch up people randomly to include in the attraction - that would be worth watching!

My dates are changing slightly for our YC stay so I need to mosey over to the BC/YC thread and chime in.

Have a great day!

Soooo, how did it go? Did you get what you wanted? And when is your trip going to be?

Good morning! Well... I don't suppose being on hold for over an hour to save $240 is bad but I'm sure sleepy! Unfortunately Disney doesn't release great discounts for some of the room types that I prefer... BLT only has studios available under the room only discount so I kept my existing reservation that was rack rate. (I really should rent DVC points...) I got a discount for our AKL and YC reservations so that's good. We are going during the "value" season which translates to incredibly hot, humid, and bring your rain poncho time of the year....mid-late August. :rotfl:

So I don't mosey by the trip report section for AGES and this is what I miss!?!? I am absolutely stunned by your pixie dust at the Beach Club! What an amazing, wonderful, unforgettable experience. I am in awe pixiedust:.

Now to read the rest of your wonderful report :goodvibes.

Note: Do you recognize a style there?
No I don’t. What are you talking about? :rotfl2:

Those soaps and shampoos would have been in my luggage already. LOL
The beach and Yacht club area is so pretty.
Loved seeing the OZ section.
I don’t think I could do the orange side. I am so afraid of the spinning and my vertigo.
Your pics came out really good in Ellen.
Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain. LOL. That is a lot of water coming down.
Nice they gave you towels at the restaurant.
You did not miss anything riding single rider on TT. I do not like that queue at all. LOL
All caught up again. Can’t wait for more.

That's great that you saved $240!! :thumbsup2 Being on hold with Disney is a little easier - you get to listen to Disney music from the parks.

I love how you go resort hopping! I had suggested it once to DW for our 7 night trip last year but got shot down. She likes to settle into one hotel for the whole stay.

Hi there Mrs. Roma! I'm glad you mosied over! Welcome!! We were very fortunate. :)

No I dont. What are you talking about? :rotfl2:

My apologies, I had a serious case of monkey see - monkey do! ::yes:

They could have given me a blow-dryer as well at TE but I took the towel.

You have officially influenced me, no stand-by line for TT, single rider or FP for us. And just for spite, I'm definitely NOT buying a Chevy when I exit the ride!

Top Ten Disboards threads for April 2013 by freestwo, on Flickr

Hi Brenda,

This is a partial list of the top ten threads for April 2013. Good job!!

Neal

Wow! I didn't know... But I do have one thing to say... I WAS ROBBED - only 9th place? What does Frump girl Jess have on me other than being adorable, works at WDW, and has more FB friends and Twitter followers that is in the population of my county! :lmao::rotfl2: Honestly, I've never tuned into the Podcast so I'm not familiar!

Thanks for sharing Neal!

Ha Dave! Actually, I heard Its A Small World Twice, the Soarin' soundtrack, and the MK railroad announcement a couple times... it was rather a snooze-fest or that could have been because I was on hold at 5am with WDW reservations for over an hour. :)

You are a wise man if you listen to your DW! The reality is that I simply can't make up my mind so I split our stays.

Tuesday February 26, 2013: Day 4, Part 5

Our dinner reservation wasnt until 8pm so we decided to check out the CL appetizer offerings since it was 5pm and well, to be honest, I was a little nosey and wanted to see what everyone else was eating upstairs! The selections looked very familiar to the last time that we stayed CL with a variety of cheeses, crackers, veggies, dip, a couple hot appetizers, and some kid friendly items.

Despite not being particularly hungry I filled my plate with everything that looked delicious. Yeah& couldnt control myself. I paired my cheese, crackers, olives, bries & raspberry en croute, apple slices and ever so yummy PB&J on a roll with a glass of Merlot. We took the food back to the room since the lounge was rather crowded. Heck, to be honest, we wanted to spend as much time in that glorious room as possible so appetizers in the sunroom were in order!

My plate:

Note: I hadn't had PB&J in years and it was so worth the wait! This was awesome!

Em paired her hors d'oeuvers with a nice full-bodied apple juice!!

Since Mousekeeping had not replenished our supply of shampoo and conditioner we were in danger of not having soft luxurious hair as a result. No fear, they delivered a baggie filled with shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, and a shower cap more than enough to get us through to our next resort. I wasnt surprised to see that they delivered the standard products and not the Spa H2O luxury version of the products that were originally in the room. I suppose they adhere to a 1 per person mantra!

Ok, so we did have a destination....we had dinner reservations (or so we thought) at Raglan Road at 8pm.

Yum! The CL offerings look really good, just the thing to hold you over until dinner. And I don't blame you for taking it back to the room! I would have to!
What's this (or so we thought) business? LOL Hope it's not bad news!

Ok, so we did have a destination&we had dinner reservations (or so we thought) at Raglan Road at 8pm.

Uh oh......

I don't blame you for eating in your room, it was so gorgeous!! I still can't get over that upgrade! PBJ is one of my favorites, especially on toast.....:)

I would love to do concierge again. We did it once and Wilderness Lodge and it was just OK. Some of the other places look like they provide better tasting options than we had there.

I wouldn't want to leave that room either !!

I'm the same with you when it comes to food at club lounges: Vacation + "Free" Food and Drinks = Every Hour Is Meal Time! :rotfl: Especially when you have your own personal sunroom!

And not that it was a competition, but I liked your plate selection better than Em's (hers looked a little olive-heavy). ;)

Ooh, I love Brie en Croute. I've never tried it with raspberries. I make a version with brown sugar and walnuts that's so good! Someday when I can eat fat again, I'll have to make it. Is Raglan Road new for you? I loved it when DH and I went for our anniversary a few years back.

Oh wow, it must have been so cool to take your concierge lounge food back to enjoy in the sunroom :)

I swear I would have found it soooo hard to ever leave that room!

Yeah, I think I would have taken the food back to that glorious room too, even if it wasn't busy. :thumbsup2

Oh and look at all the SWAG in the baggie. Nice!! :cool1:

My that's an ominous tease for the next update... Uh Oh.

And since this is my first post here since the big 9th place most viewed reveal, my most sincere congratulations. :worship:
I know we've talked about it elsewhere, but this is a really big deal and you are most deserving of this honor.
In Trip Reports you are second only to Jess, and well, that thread is a beast that shows no signs of slowing down.
That is just so much awesomeness I can't even stand it! :goodvibes
