Polynesian/monorail question

So the monorail from the TTC is the only way to get to Epcot from the Polynesian? You either walk to the TTC and get on the monorail or take the resort monorail all the way around the loop until it gets to the TTC and then switch to Epcot monorail? If you end up in one of the buildings that is not on the side of the TTC it looks like it would be a decent long walk to the TTC. I have never stayed there but just looking at pics and maps. So there is not a bus to Epcot option?

No bus to EPCOT from Poly. The walk to the TTC is 5-10 minutes, depending on your building at the Poly. It's really not a bad walk, and usually a tranquil one. I find that easier than switching at the TTC, which involves going down one ramp and back up another.

I loved this option (walking to the TTC) when I stayed at Poly. No other resort has this.

Like the PP said....it's really not that bad of a walk. We have 3 kids and we walked to and from TTC every time we went to EP, HS & AK (grabbed the bus for HS & AK). We stayed in Tokelau, so it was relatively close, but still.

So you grabbed buses at the TTC for HS & AK as well? Thanks to everyone for the quick replys...

We were also in Tokelau and it was perfectly in the middle of the resort, same distance from Tokelau to TTC as from Tokelau to GCH. The walk is very nice especially at dusk when they turn on the tiki torches. The Polynesian is still a relatively small resort compared to the values and most moderates, so even if you are over on the Grand Floridian side, it isn't really that long of a walk.

Plus, they just updated all the room decor and it is just gorgeous....go for it!

I assume there are more buses going to/from TTC to AK and DHS then from Poly??

I don't know about more buses but we've never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a bus to AK or DHS. The nice bit is you can take a bus from the parks to either the TTC or the Poly! Our room was in a wing that was VERY close to the TTC so we always used it as our jumping off point. The other nice thing about being so close to the TTC is using the ferry boats to the MK. Sometimes it's faster to take them rather than doing the Monorail.

Have a great trip!

I didn't even think about the bus situation. So do a lot of people walk to the TTC to catch buses to HS and AK? Why not use the ones at the Polynesian bus stop? Are the ones at the TTC direct and the ones that stop at the Polynesian share with Grand Flo, etc..?

When we stayed at the WL to bus to HS shared with the GF.

Yes, we walked over to TTC and grabbed a bus to HS & AK. :) It was quicker than waiting for a bus to pick up from the Poly bus stop. Only place TTC won't take you to is DTD.

I'm not sure but it was quicker to walk to TTC and grab a bus there than waiting for a bus to pick up from the Poly bus stop IMO. We went in September, so not huge crowds, but the bus stop always had a bunch of people waiting.

I have no idea about sharing, but yes the TTC ones are a direct route. TTC to AK or TTC to HS. No stops anywhere else. :)

So, from CR (staying at BLT) would it be quicker to take the monorail to TTC to go to AK? Since this is our first time staying at CR/BLT I am not familiar with the bus routes:) Thanks!

I think for me it boils down to what you're closer to. It seems we always get rooms near the TTC so it just makes sense for us to use it as our launching point to the parks.

Two stays at AOTEAROA. Loved the beauty and romance of our walks to and from the TTC. However, the distance seemed a breeze for us, but it may not seem so to others. Judge for yourself how fast you walk and the range you find within your comfort levels. Use the distance scale shown on Google Maps to get a distance number anywhere. Oh and wear good shoes and don't fault Disney for long distances when it might be those flip-flops and too little time moving those legs while at home.
