Well it looks like will be resort changing after all. Since the BC GV rooms are not including in the FD discount, the DH says we have to change. Out of the options I gave JM, the one he is happiest about is the AKL. I just hope they have some PV BB rooms available with the FD discount when I call and add FD to it. With that move, our trip has come full circle. It started out as a June trip at the AKL in a Arusha View Room. I'll just wait to change my ticker to an AKL one once I actually make the change.

I did talk to the person over bus driver complaints and he was almost as unhappy with what she said as I am. Hopefully, I will get a call back before I leave for school.

Do't be so sure about BC. Inventory changes all the time and just because someone else was unable to get BC GV doesn't mean you won't.

Iheart-Crazy Disney and their room designations. That would be rather annoying to find you had booked and paid for a palm view!

Oh, I was still thrilled as it was an upgrade from the GV we had booked A few years ago, they made the change to have LV and TPV in Hawaii probably to avoid people getting mad about the palm view. Of course I'm sure it didn't hurt that they could pad the bottom line by charging even more for an unobstructed TPV.

I said that we had heard about the free dining for Disney Visa cardholders and I needed to check and see if our resort/ room category was on the offer before we decide whether or not to add it to our reservation. When the CM checked, he said it wasn't. I thank him and said I would have to discuss with my DH whether the discount or what we had was more important.

Yeah, I'm sad about the BC, but I am excited about the possibility of staying at the AKL. I still have to actually make the change, so I don't want to get too excited about it. I was honest with the DH about the CSR being cheaper, and for a moment he looked like he was leaning that way. However, I know how to convince him and it isn't always through his wallet, but sometimes it's through his feet. I showed him where the PV rooms were on a resort map of the AKL and then I showed him a resort map of the CSR. I showed him the CSR map first, and he was like "nope, that's not going to work. I don't like it, it's too spread out." He was happier with the AKL layout and the location of the PV rooms. Then I told him we could split the money we will get back from Disney, but I'll probably just keep it. Half will go into the Disney pig and the other half will go for things we will need for the trip.

I always book GV at the Poly because the only time I get to enjoy a view is from the lounge. In the room I'm tending to my hellions lol or showering, straightening up, you know.... Mom things lol.

Wookie by the time the GP offer comes out on Thursday with all the room shifting done by DV peeps your room catagory may be available for FD.

I love AKL and would stay there again in a heartbeat if only it was not all bus transportation, now that I have to use an ECV the bus is a pain I still want to stay there and will someday just not visit the parks or perhaps just Epcot.

Good Luck with whatever resort you decide on.

Today was my ADR day and I worried about it for nothing. I could not get the old site to work at 6am I was in a real panic but the new site worked beautifully. I got everything I wanted!

I LOVE "seeing" familiar faces from the GF thread! The Epcot side has a different feel than MK...still awesome! LOVE AKL too!! We stayed at BCV quite some time ago. It was Feb. and too cold for SAB, my family would pick Kidani or SSR over BCV..but we no longer own DVC of course. For that savings it is a great deal! BC is beautiful, but when we went we didn't like the décor of the villas (2005ish).

Make a decision....read a review...change your decision...commit to another resort...a deal comes out and you switch...but, just maybe your first choice really was the best option....so you switch back, and you are DONE! (And may even pinky swear on it)...but are you done??? As a resort changer, you just never really know where you'll end up.

We took the kids to see The Croods finally today. As the Disney previews come on, DH looks at me and says "you really love Disney, you are going to make me go there after the kids are grown aren't you" LMAO!! I said, just for food and wine so we can eat and drink and stumble back to YC...he said "okay, fine....but we need to go on rides too".

I'm having a dilemma with my back neighbour now -

Marie, that is NUTS!!! Hope it gets straightened out...has she NO idea your DH was shot what the ????? Sorry you have this on your already overflowing plate.

Still no RC for this trip, but I do have another RA (Resort Addition)...

Added 3 more nights up front - Poly LV/CL. I know I've been on the fence about Poly for years now. We've stayed GV there twice - first time was great, second was not and we bailed after a few nights for CR. Fast forward to this weekend and DH thought it would be a "no risk" proposition to "get it out of our system" and add Poly up front instead of changing CR or WL - sounds perfect!

Hope this sticks so we actually experience the KKC once and for all. After booking, I read some Tripadvisor reviews that were, as usual for Poly, mixed. A recent guest said that they had bad ceiling leaks and bad mgt. and another guest reported that all of their belongings were stolen at the pool - bags, towels, KTTWC, everything and once again, mgt. was unhelpful, but the police did help. Whenever I read these sorts of reports about the Poly, I get cold Poly feet

Never have tried their CL so we've been curious about it. I've rationalized going sooner rather then later by telling myself that the room should be much fresher now with the rehab (but might not be next year) and who knows if they'll even renew the military discount, so if I'm going to give it one last try, this summer is it. DH joked that we'll have to pretend we're British since we're staying 15 nights.

STOP READING TA AND EXPERIENCE KKC!!! this said by someone who spend the last 2 hours changing my beach hotel based on TA....gotta change SOMETHING right??

Yipee! I got our flights booked for November! Jetblue going down Nov 13 and Southwest coming home on Nov 23! Good times, arriving 11 am in Orlando, and early afternoon Buffalo on the way home. Prices I can live with , but still at least $1000 less than flying from Toronto!

Final resort change! After 8 changes, Free Dining has confirmed that we will be at CR..$800 less than BC...they only allow FD on laguna view or higher there, snagged a standard view at CR! So excited to go! Good luck everyone!

Ahhhhhh, I have such fond memories of DH and my trips before kids...We had 3 trips together (including our Honeymoon) before they came along....since they are 9 and 6, we've got awhile before we can reclaim it for ourselves again

Hi friends! I have been reading but haven't had much time to post. I find myself getting several days behind (been travelling for work) and so it is hard to post and comment back to everyone!

I hope everyone is having a great start to their weeks. How many are calling to add Sept discounts? I know Wookie - anyone else? We are booked in October with a DVC discount but I am looking to add a second trip in October if FD comes out. I know its crazy to go twice in a month, right???? But we might do our adult trip (BWV) and then a family trip (Poly, maybe?) so we can hit the MNSSHP. We'll see. It depends on what we do for summer vacation and that that ends up costing.

Nice...can't wait to see the plans!

Just a quick hello as I'm getting caught up over lunch! DD's party was a success yesterday and she had SO much fun playing with her cousins and all. SO wound up though. Took her a bit to settle down and get to sleep last night and she was upset she couldn't get up and play with her dolls this morning. But, definitely a good time all around.

Does anyone recall if the end room in Hawaii, furthest from the lounge is the one with the palm tree in front of it? I seem to recall walking past last summer wondering why some of the Hawaii TPV room views were obstructed by a palm... Off to find photos.

SO the girls and I were in a 1st floor GV room in November...even with the sliding doors TOTALLY quiet...we were on the opposite end from the lounge. Kidani had more hallway noise than our Poly stays...just sayin...

I told my Disney lovin' coworkers about BLT last night...they were both in agreement SV is perfect. What a fluke that I got 35% AP discount!!! Fri/Sat nite is rack rate... When I called CRO to change...no availability with or without a discount. She said...book it online NOW and she cancelled my Poly reservation. Meant to be.....

Honestly, I was pricing a split stay with Portofino, and BLT popped up. I saw the price and checked if it was available all 6 nights....I WAS and CHEAPER than Poly CL.....IT'S ON BABY

First stay (not first booking......) The washer..the separate bedroom for DH and I....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...just having a living room is SO awesome. Even 2 rooms get tight for the Pas~lets

During a stay at BLT my grandson had the sleeper chair .... view was TPV .... he folded out the chair and my gosh it was facing the wrong way!!! He could not see the castle ... being a smart kid ... after all he is related to me ... he turned the chair around so the last thing he saw at night and the first thing in the morning was the CASTLE!!!

Hi from sunny south Florida I'm lurking when I can. All this "home" school stuff is taking up so much time. he seems to be getting over his cold and today was career day at school so no work for the brief hour and a half he was there. So we are getting through all his work nice and peacefully. One day at a time right now!

Jeanette - you have to keep BLT so you can let me know of I should keep it for Feb!!!! Steven already told Sarah she gets the pull out chair since she is smaller than him and I am very much looking forward to a private bedroom and hot tub!!!! YOU CANNOT CHANGE THIS!!!!

Okay back to school stuff!! I'll catch up with everyone else soon!!!

Thank you. I am going to double check on the BC GV, but I'm not holding my breath. I've tried booking a BC GV room for our time period and anything below LV at the BC is sold out. Even if we don't get BC maybe we'll get some pixie dust and get a free upgrade to Savanna view. Although my DH calls pixie dust, Donald feathers because Donald is his favorite.

THIS GIRL RIGHT HERE!!!!

My BFF (the one who just came with us on this trip) and I just booked 3 nights/4 days at All Star Movies (preferred room) with AAA discount, so we can partake in Food and Wine and MNSSHP!!!!

We booked airfare and purchased our party tickets and everything!!! Done, done, done!!! Airfare was only $185 RT!!!

Miss - we will definitely be spending some time at the AKL pool. Maybe walk over to Kidani's pool on our resort day so the kids can play in the water play area?

Pas - jealous of BLT! I think the next time we go it's going to have to be a 1BR villa or perhaps a BB room at AKL if we really like it there.

Anyone know how the sushi works at Kona on the DxDP? Heard they tweaked their menu a bit. Was thinking of possibly changing one of our dinner ADRs. Really wish they did sushi at lunch!!
