I just tried to price out BWI, but they said that it no longer fits 5, I thought it was built like BC/YC/CR/Poly/GF where the couch was also a daybed? It says now that the fifth bed is a trundle like that in POR...so my 6'3 son would no longer fit...have they ever had the sofa turn into a bed or am I completely mistaken?

There was a daybed in the standard BWI room DH and I were in in March. I played with pulling It out so I could see how it worked. The room had sleeping space for five -- 2 queen beds and the sofa/daybed.

I am so confused now, the website says the BWI rooms only accommodate 4, then the rep tonight said it put a warning on her page saying that the BWI only have trundle bed that pops up from under the bed? That it would only accommodate someone under 9? BWI was a bit cheaper than Beach Club but I worried the extra bed would be too short for my tall teenager?

That is old information about POFQ. No other resort had a trundle like that (and thy don't any longer). Sounds like some info that was on the BWI page by mistake.

I thought it was odd the new Disney pages only show 4 to a room at BWI, she said they put in all new couches that there were no day beds only a trundle now...the POFQ does not fit five but the POR does and has a shortened 'bed' that only fits 53"....that's why I was wondering if they were refitting BWIs..if you look in the pictures they are not daybeds like at BC/YC and others but a 3 sectioned sofa now?

Couldn't u still board these ADR buses to arrive at the parks for EMH tho?

If the bus driver is the one checking your name against the ADR list then no, you couldn't. I've never used an early ADR bus, but my assumption is that like at the IG, your name is checked against the ADR list when you enter the park and not by the bus driver. The early ADR buses must arrive prior to the AM EMH buses so you wouldn't board one for AM EMH

So excited here, we upgraded to BWI (standard view) yesterday from POR. We have never stayed at BWI, so I was wondering if there was anything special, important, etc. we should know.

Looks like I'll be staying at the BWI!! Didn't have to change resorts which is what I was afraid of ... Just modified our existing reservation, and saved $950!!! Let go of our resort pin code offer, and added the free dining! WooHoo!!

Looks like I'll be staying at the BWI indefinitely!! Didn't have to change resorts which is what I was afraid of ... Just modified our existing reservation, and saved $950!!! Let go of our resort pin code offer, and added the free dining! WooHoo!!

I would suggest that both of you read through the first several posts of this thread. WDWKOOK has done an amazing job of covering all of the highlights of the Boardwalk and anticipating questions/issues. Then, go ahead and ask specific questions. BWI is absolutely lovely and has a lot to offer.

I have been Just never made a change this close to a trip before. I usually have months to plan and and find out as much as I can about the resort we will be staying at. Kind of freaked that I only have a little over a month to get to know BWI a little better.

From what I did read in the beginning pages, a lot of standard views seem to be views of EPCOT?? I would love that!!! So when I did online check-in this morning I only checked "highest floor available" as my "request." They also offered water view but someone else had mentioned that could be loud from the boardwalk.

So when I did online check-in this morning I only checked "highest floor available" as my "request." They also offered water view but someone else had mentioned that could be loud from the boardwalk.

DH and I had a standard view on the 5th floor in March and it was wonderful. We could watch Illuminations from our balcony in the evening. I would love to have our exact same room when I go back in August with DD. The room was very quiet all day and night.

Planning is (almost) half the fun for me, so I totally understand how you've been thrown for a loop!

Welcome and congratulations on upgrading! The STD Views can be of a parking lot, canal, garden area, pool, Epcot/Illuminations (hope I haven't left out anything). Just have your preference added to your reservation.

OCI is fine to do, but will only have a pre-set number of choices. It's always best to have all your requests in your reservation by calling the WDTC. Doing OCI won't negate your requests, but you might not be able to request everything you'd like.

I'm not sure what OCI means by "Water View" when you've booked a STD View room. A BoardWalk View is what you're thinking of and that is a bookable view only, not a request, unless you're staying club level. I'm guessing that "Water View" in this case must mean pool or canal and a canal view wouldn't be noisy and a quiet pool view probably wouldn't be noisy either.

I stand corrected, I just went back and clicked edit for the online check-in and it says I may select up to 2 requests, floor being one and BoardWalk View being the other. We are booked in a standard room. Now I'm a bit confused

Thank you!! Yes, originally we had booked months ago with a room pin code of 35% off a deluxe resort. But, for us, we are saving $950 by letting that offer go, and take the free dining offer. It works for us. :-D

You will only get a BW view villa if you specifically book it with DVC points. The BW view is about 20% of the villas and is a booking category. Plus it is only available for points stays.

Did you book with points and book the Preferred view/BW view?
