This RCer is about to make a bold move! I'm renting DVC points :faint:

I have a lead on a Kidani 1 bedroom at a great rate! Just waiting to hear back regarding payment details. :hyper:

Looks like we are going to be doing
Poly CL - 8/7-8/10
YC CL - 8/10-8/14
Kidani 1 BR - 8/14-8/17

I am sooper-dooper excited. I've always wanted to try AKL! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

babyberger - Stumbling back to YC after F&W sounds awesome! Start panning now. Never too soon! :yay:

Miss- Want to come plant at my house when you're done? I still haven't replaced a tree we had to take out in 2009 and the front garden looks naked. ::yes:: Once I get in veggie garden mode, I forget about all other landscaping and it shows. :upsidedow Happy shrubbing!

wookie - Hoping for a better week for DS  Yay for alone time and mindless TV! :thumbsup2

Mousemommy - Happy Easter! :goodvibes

Hello to all of you other lovely RC ladies and gents

I heart - yeah for AKL!! :-) too bad you're not there for the first part of your trip! (We leave on the 9th)

Marie so sorry you have so many things that have been dumped in your lap lately. Doesn't this woman know what happened to your husband?
And you weren't consulted about type of fence or cost, plus the fact you said no. I can't see how you'd be legally responsible. And not your problem they are having another baby, and short on money. Ugh. I wouldn't pay either, after you told her over a year ago you couldn't. :grouphug:

I agree to all of this!!

 Aloha!

Still no RC for this trip, but I do have another RA (Resort Addition)...

Added 3 more nights up front - Poly LV/CL. I know I've been on the fence about Poly for years now. We've stayed GV there twice - first time was great, second was not and we bailed after a few nights for CR. Fast forward to this weekend and DH thought it would be a "no risk" proposition to "get it out of our system" and add Poly up front instead of changing CR or WL - sounds perfect!

Hope this sticks so we actually experience the KKC once and for all. After booking, I read some Tripadvisor reviews that were, as usual for Poly, mixed. A recent guest said that they had bad ceiling leaks and bad mgt. and another guest reported that all of their belongings were stolen at the pool - bags, towels, KTTWC, everything and once again, mgt. was unhelpful, but the police did help. Whenever I read these sorts of reports about the Poly, I get cold Poly feet:worried:

Never have tried their CL so we've been curious about it. I've rationalized going sooner rather then later by telling myself that the room should be much fresher now with the rehab (but might not be next year:rolleyes2) and who knows if they'll even renew the military discount, so if I'm going to give it one last try, this summer is it. DH joked that we'll have to pretend we're British since we're staying 15 nights.

Cheerio and a happy week to all:)

Lol to the British comment. :-) too funny!

Hope you enjoy the Poly!! I loved it when we were there in 2010, and Witt the refurb, it should be even better!

The flight I bought this morning is now back up to $280 so I feel good about buying them :)

Hi friends! I have been reading but haven't had much time to post. I find myself getting several days behind (been travelling for work) and so it is hard to post and comment back to everyone!

I hope everyone is having a great start to their weeks. How many are calling to add Sept discounts? I know Wookie - anyone else? We are booked in October with a DVC discount but I am looking to add a second trip in October if FD comes out. I know its crazy to go twice in a month, right???? But we might do our adult trip (BWV) and then a family trip (Poly, maybe?) so we can hit the MNSSHP. We'll see. It depends on what we do for summer vacation and that that ends up costing.

Just a quick hello as I'm getting caught up over lunch! :-) DD's party was a success yesterday and she had SO much fun playing with her cousins and all. SO wound up though. Took her a bit to settle down and get to sleep last night and she was upset she couldn't get up and play with her dolls this morning. But, definitely a good time all around. :-)

85 more days!!

DH asked me the other day if we should tell the kids about the trip...I suggested maybe telling them the morning we leave. Or once we get down to Sea World tell them about Disney...not sure...but DS has been glued to the TV for Disney week. It's cute...I just want him to appreciate it more this time if possible. And just how much money and time goes into planning it, etc. thoughts/ideas?

Does everyone already know that Jeanette made a change today? I'll give you a hint - she changed to a famous sandwich!

Kook I like your split, I hope you keep it!!! :flower3:

I have booked and "un-booked" Poly CL so many times that I just have to keep this. I really have no excuse for canceling this time since DH suggested adding on 3 days to try it rather than shortening CR or WL (which we KNOW we love.)

Yipee! I got our flights booked for November! Jetblue going down Nov 13 and Southwest coming home on Nov 23! Good times, arriving 11 am in Orlando, and early afternoon Buffalo on the way home. Prices I can live with , but still at least $1000 less than flying from Toronto!:thumbsup2
Sounds great:thumbsup2

Final resort change! After 8 changes, Free Dining has confirmed that we will be at CR..$800 less than BC...they only allow FD on laguna view or higher there, snagged a standard view at CR! So excited to go! Good luck everyone!
Yippee! I think this will be your last change:)

I hope it sticks too.. The lagoon side of Hawaii is so beautiful! If you don't mind first floor, the LV rooms right off the concierge area (1501-1504) have views that are just as good as the TPV rooms. ::yes::
Thanks for that information. I requested a 3rd floor room without a connecting door. Then I looked at Tikiman's Poly room number chart and saw that there's only one 3rd floor LV room - all the others are TPV. It happens to be at the very end (furthest from the lounge) which probably means it doesn't have a connecting door, which would be perfect. But, not sure what our chances are of getting that one room. We'd prefer 3rd floor since they have a balcony and we prefer not having guests above us.

Does anyone recall if the end room in Hawaii, furthest from the lounge is the one with the palm tree in front of it? I seem to recall walking past last summer wondering why some of the Hawaii TPV room views were obstructed by a palm... Off to find photos.

Maybe I can be a Brit too since we are 14 nights  congrats on Poly, and you'll get to see the new rooms. Theyve done a total refurb so no worries about leaks.
I've read reports of bags being stollen at WL too, remember the one with the iPhone in the bag, and the guy was able to track it to being on the boat to MK, and security was able to get the thief?
Also at other resorts. Sad, so now I only bring sunscreen and a book down to the pool, and wear one of those waterproof boxes around my neck with my kttw card in it and some cash for snacks.
Yes, you're in! Let's start practicing: Do you prefer the Bangers and Mash or the Bubble and Squeak from R&C?

Thanks so much for mentioning WL. I hadn't heard about that, but you're right, this can happen anywhere and does. We don't bring anything to the pool or if we do, we stay with our belongings, but reading about the robbery right after booking just settled badly with me so thanks for putting it all in perspective:)

KOOK Love the addition of the Poly!:cloud9:
Glad you approve.

Kook: Sweet add! :cheer2: Lapu Lapus here you come. (Admittedly, I kinda preferred our GV room over the GV-CL one -- it was much quieter. Mind you, that was well before the reno. :confused3 )
Uh oh, was CL/GV noisier because you were near the "Quiet" pool? Do tell - I like it quiet:ssst:

Welcome back!

Does everyone already know that Jeanette made a change today? I'll give you a hint - she changed to a famous sandwich!

Port Orleans French (Quarter) Dip?
Dolphin-free Tuna Salad Sandwich?
Beach Club with no mayo? Or is that Yacht Club with extra bacon?

Both times (each in Sept. / GV and CL-GV) we were on the top floor and had connecting doors; the rooms were both roughly in the middle of the hallway. I'm not sure if it was at capacity the time we staying CL but it was very noisy compared to the non-CL room. (Not just neighbor noise, just constant commotion in the hallways sort of thing.) My guess is you'll be just fine if you nabbed a no connecting door at the far end of the hallway. I think we'd be happy staying again, just not CL. Now, if only they could plunk down SAB at the Poly, I'd be set to switch back to Poly permanently. :scratchin Darn that SAB. :upsidedow

Welcome back!

Many of the LV rooms have views blocked with large palms. I think that's why they get the LV designation instead of the TPV :confused3. We had LV 2503 once and there was a HUGE palm smack dab in the way. Still a great view of the castle, but you had to crane your neck to see the fireworks. Sorry, I don't remember too much about the rooms down on the other end of Hawaii.

We've never had a problem with noise in Hawaii. Then again, maybe we were the noisy ones so we just didn't notice. :lmao: :scared:

^^^^This. Eleventy!

Well it looks like will be resort changing after all. Since the BC GV rooms are not including in the FD discount, the DH says we have to change. Out of the options I gave JM, the one he is happiest about is the AKL. I just hope they have some PV BB rooms available with the FD discount when I call and add FD to it. With that move, our trip has come full circle. It started out as a June trip at the AKL in a Arusha View Room. I'll just wait to change my ticker to an AKL one once I actually make the change.

I did talk to the person over bus driver complaints and he was almost as unhappy with what she said as I am. Hopefully, I will get a call back before I leave for school.

Hello RCers,

Marie-You all continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Please know Your neighbor is totally out of line. I am so sorry you are having to deal with this. Sending hugs your way.

Kook-15 days? Congratulations! You are now an Honorary British Holidaymaker!!! Who knows? Maybe IPO will send some PG tips and Jaffa cakes up to your room to make you feel right at home. Carry on. :rotfl:

Jenny-Hooray for a good deal on flights.:yay:

Imhall2000-Great change, congrats!!:thumbsup2

Lacey-I hope Oct free dining is added for you.:cool1:

Koh-Glad the party went well. :goodvibes

Missout-Your resort specific sandwich selections are hilarious!:rotfl2:

Iheart-Crazy Disney and their room designations. That would be rather annoying to find you had booked and paid for a palm view!:crazy2:

Wookie-Will stay tuned for your AKL ticker change. :cool1:

Pas-Is BLT in your future?????:scratchin

Gotta get back to work, always fun to stop by and say hi to the friends!

Jeanette changed to BLT :faint:

Wookie so sorry you might have to Change resorts :worried:

Miss - love the sandwich choices. Lol.

Pas - BLT? What brought that on? :-) Even though we changed from CR to AKL, BLT is definitely on my resort bucket list!!

Wookie - sorry you had to change for the FD, but maybe you'll enjoy AKL? :-) I will try to post pics of our room and the resort while we're there! (We booked PV)

Hello to everyone else!! :-)

Those sandwiches are brilliant:lmao:

UGH about hallway noise, but thank you for the explanation. Being at the very end in the one and only LV 3rd floor room would be better, but no guarantee on getting that one room.

One reason we love CR/BLT and WL so much is that our Bay Lake view is always unobstructed and I've never heard much from neighbors or hallways and all rooms have a balcony. It can really be a crapshoot with Poly, so we favor CR and WL in part because it mitigates our bad room location fears. You pay such a premium for that LV/CL room that I would be disappointed with a palm tree obstruction, but it's only 3 nights and I can always change to CR earlier - maybe.

So you're the ONES:rotfl:. They really need to offer a PTV (Palm Tree View).

:rotfl2:
That got copied and pasted to DH:thumbsup2. I got confused though at first when I read PG tips, without the capital T and thought it was some UK WDW park planning site and not tea:coffee:

Well, you're in the right place for changing and we'll be waiting to hear what you decide.

Well, I'm trying to figure out if I should be honest and let the DH know how much of a price difference the CSR would be. Since Mods get the Basic DDP, we wouldn't have to upgrade to it. We would get about $1,000 back for staying at the CSR and only just under $200 for the AKL. I know JM was excited about the bunk beds and not having to share a bed with his brother. Maybe, I'll leave it to the fates. If the PV BB room is available when I call first thing Thursday morning, I will book AKL. If it isn't then I will book CSR. I'm just so confused right now.

Hi Peeps !!

Seriously behind with the thread, life has a way of interrupting DIS time! :)
DD had her freshman dance, my DS was home for a visit and went to see my Mom over the weekend...

Belated Birthday Greetings to the RC DD's -- Candace, Jen and koh! :cutie: :cutie: :cutie: :cake:

Big hugs for our RC kiddos and their moms.... Melissa, Jen, Pas, Wookie, :grouphug:

Marie, keeping you in my prayers for DH and your extended family in England. As far as the neighbor, you have no legal responsibility to pay her anything. She is not being neighborly at all, she must know about your DH and has no consideration and is just trying to play on your feelings to get the money. You told her no 19 months ago. Period.

Iheart, Love, your vow renewal pix (oh and the suite pix were pretty good too. :)) Congrats again on your fabulous upgrade!! ! Im so happy that you got major pixie dust on your special trip!! :cool1:

Pas, love your newest RC :thumbsup2 Yay for Brandon getting the play part!! and congrats Miss 4.0  So proud of all you! Great news for HRH ... and will be thinking of our Bree on Wed.

Jenny/Sheila/Piglets Mommy - :yay: for booking your flights... guess I have to get cracking at it too. :goodvibes

Kook, nice addition to your already impressive split. Will add the POLY to the list. :thumbsup2 Can you give me the new dates? btw... absolutly love the monorail kids meal. :thumbsup2 Making sure we get one of these in the summer.

Miss, Your tasty resort sandwiches are smashing!! Disney could use your writing talents. :goodvibes Oh I missed the 40% yesterday... could be cause I was driving for 5 hours back from Rochester...

Wookie, sorry about the BC, but AKL is mightly fine! :woohoo: (hope that JM has a better week.) edit: don't stress over it, just wait until thursday...it will all work out and you will have a great time....at AKL or CSR! Can you get a rollaway at CSR if the boys don't want to share a bed?

Lacey, I'm right behind you in being behind :flower3:

Magic, got the Kona ressie :thumbsup2

GG, so thankful you and the family are safe from the fires...btw always nice chatting with you...make the drive so much nicer!

Ginny, been thinking of you and hope you doing well. :flower:

Welcome to all the newest members!! Apologies to all the posts and RCers I've missed....:goodvibes Will plan to catch up later! (after our Y workout that is :) )

Wookie, sorry about the BC, but AKL is mightly fine! :woohoo: (hope that JM has a better week.)

Thank you, me too. He won't go back to school until Wednesday. I still haven't heard back from the guy at the bus company. That may be because I told him that I was in class starting at 5. If I don't hear back from him by noon tomorrow, they will be getting another call from me.

Wookie, Happy the school is working with you on this matter. :goodvibes hope JM would be with that idiot bus driver come Wedneday. Yep, call first thing in the morning.

Could you imagine? How cool would that be? :faint: (Well, then they'd have to plunk down HS within walking distance. That's not asking too much, is it?)

This is a mighty cool RC, I must admit. I'm gonna stay there one of these days, I will, I will. Looking forward to both yours and Koh's reviews.

Let us know what you hear about the bus driver.

Hello RCers,
Kook-15 days? Congratulations! You are now an Honorary British Holidaymaker!!! Who knows? Maybe IPO will send some PG tips and Jaffa cakes up to your room to make you feel right at home. Carry on. :rotfl:

Hiya Ginny! :wave2: As long as they don't send Marmite. :crazy2:

The more we go, the more I have to remind myself to take all of these reviews with a grain of salt. I was really scared from reading tons of reviews before our little POR stint but I'm so glad we tried it. Ya never know! It might not be "getting it out of your system", you might just be adding another layer of complexity to your RC repertoire. :thumbsup2 The way you're doing it sounds just the ticket, too.

It ate my last quote. Going to have to do it the old-fashioned way...

Janet: How was the girl's weekend? Did you have that lovely dinner waiting for you when you got back? :worship: Hope the drive was uneventful. Have fun at your tort... WORKOUT! :rolleyes1
