We are TWC (not basic) but couldn't find it in our listings. We were so disappointed. We love DCL and really wanted to watch.

We watched last night, and we're sold!! DH and DS have never cruised, so we decided to start off with a short 2-Day CA coast cruise. The May sail date coincides with our 15 wedding anniversary, so I'm beyond excited! Would love to hear the experiences from other "cruisers to nowhere" : D

It seems like it is a great advertisement opportunity for them (several even in this thread mentioned booking or looking into booking after watching it). You'd think that Disney would make it more available for everyone to watch. I know I'd like a link.

I found an almost 50 min. documentary on youtube "Disney Cruise Line: Lightship Entertainment Documentary." Is this a different one perhaps? It was uploaded in March.

For DisneyDeb64: a two-night is a great opportunity to extend your vacation so a number of people will do that and that's what I did in NYC. That being said I found it to be a different crowd then usual. Lots of newbies who hadn't cruised before, maybe more partying then usual. Disney pulled out all the stops to show these people what it was like to cruise on DCL. I believe they had pirate night with fireworks. It is a good way to try cruising except it's much too short but if you can't get your partner to try anything else or you just want a tatse it will be great!

We did just this. DH nor myself had never cruised before so when DCL came to NYC and were offering two-night cruises we thought it was the perfect chance for us to give cruising a try. The third and final cruise-to-nowhere left on my birthday, August 10th, so I looked at it as a birthday present to myself. Prior to our two-night cruise, we had a cruise already booked on the Fantasy but knew we'd cancel if we didn't like the cruise. Well, we definitely didn't cancel as we fell in love with cruising and DCL. After only two nights I could see why so many people love to cruise Disney. Our cruise on the Fantasy is this November and it can't get here fast enough.

As for the cruise-to-nowhere, we had the opportunity to eat in all three dining rooms. We ate in Parrot Cay our first night, Lumiere's (I think that was the name) on the second night and Animator's Palate for breakfast on the morning of our departure. There was also Pirate Night on the first night. We saw Villians and I believe Dreams and thought they were great. We also had time to hang by the pool, play Bingo, explore the ship, see a movie and take in some nightlife. We loved it and I'm sure you will too!

Thanks for the replies - I'm happy to read good experiences with the 2-day cruises! I also agree it is probably too short, but a good way to get a somewhat nervous (thanks to Carnival) DH and DS "feet wet" before taking a longer excursion. My last cruise was on RCCL to the Bahamas many years ago, so in a lot of ways, this will be like a first time again for me as well!

We did the 2 day out of NYC too! Even though we're experienced DCL cruiser it was awesome!!!

The 2-night cruise to nowhere out of Los Angeles was our first cruise (although I already had our B2B on the Dream booked for me and the kids).
DH was anti-cruising but agreed to do the 2-night one because he knew he wouldn't have too long on the ship if he hated it.
That was all he needed to get hooked

So my word of warning...it is addicting... Our first cruise was in January 2011.
Next months cruise will be my 6th cruise, my DH's 4th and my kid's 5th
(DH and I even left the kids at home and did the Wonder Pacific Coast cruise last Sept, just the two of us). I would say he is definitely pro-DCL now

Was it a Carnival cruise you were on or just all the technical problems they keep breaking down as to them making you nervous? Thank goodness Disney has such a solid reputation. My Dad knew my Mom wouldn't set foot on a Carnival especially after the one my honey and I got off of got stuck 1.5 weeks later. So he booked our family's first DCL. It was a great choice as mom never once had any nerves at all. (And she is anxious!)

Although it was uploaded in March, it was actually done several years ago. You will notice that they don't include the Dream / Fantasy. I was able have Disney send a DVD to us in the mail, and that was pretty awesome. I am not sure i've seen the special the folk on here are referencing though.

I watched it several times as different family members were watching at different times. Somehow, I always ended up snuggled up on the couch when it was on

I have only ever had a balcony, but my little girls said they would prefer the "magic portholes" over the balcony. While we had heard of them, we had never seen them before the show.
