We are going to DL for the first time next month!:cool1: Our heart is with WDW. We plan on coming back to WDW in the Fall. We were thinking about the GF Sugar Loaf. I think my daughters would love the GF. I just don't know much about it. I understand there is also another Club in the Main Building. I would like to know honest opinions. If you have another resort to recommend (on the monorail) I will consider too. Thank you!

We stayed at GF but not CL. It was a beautiful resort but we were drawn to the Polynesian more. Our favorite monorail resort and CL is at the Polynesian. The location of the Hawaii building to the beach and pool can't be beat. The lounge is huge. It was remodeled this year. It is really a matter of what theme you prefer. Have fun in DL! Enjoy coming back to WDW!:goodvibes

We've stayed three times at Sugarloaf and once at the Royal Palm Club in the main building. Both are great, but RPC will cost more. They offer the same snacks, beverages, continental breakfast, hors d'oeuvres and warm appetizers. The service is the same at both---excellent. We have always enjoyed staying in Sugarloaf, eating breakfast and snacks there and working with the club concierge on getting ADRs, La Nouba tickets or printing out boarding passes. The concierge staff are very helpful. Sugar Loaf is very close to the courtyard pool. We always appreciated the ease of going back and forth between our room and the pool. As for the main building, the RPC is great. It has the same food offerings and service as Sugarloaf, but the big advantage is that the club lounge overlooks the lobby, so you can hear the pianist or the swing band as they play. The other obvious advantage is the RPC's proximity to the GF's dining and shopping and the monorail. However, the grounds of the GF are not that enormous, so walking from Sugarloaf to the main building/monorail is really no big deal. I can try to post some photos if you like.

That would be very nice. Thank you for your detailed description. Is the resort and club level lounges kid friendly? Is there food that children would enjoy as well as adults. We usually get the regular meal plan but hope to have something in the lounge for the children to enjoy in between meals.

I had not considered the Polynesian. You make it sound very appealing. I may look into as well.

That was what we had when we got there and we loved it. Honestly, we would have been happy either way. Here are some other misc shots:

We only stayed at Sugarloaf. Loved the quietness. We joined DVC but if we hadn't, I would stay there again in a heartbeat. It is a very short walk to the main building. Beautiful resort but we spend a good amount of time at the resorts. I don't think it would be worth the money if we were park commandos.

We stayed GF SL and it was nice, but didn't have the "wow" factor of the main building and the ambiance (and large size) of the lounge. The food, however, is the same in both, and the RPC rooms cost more. It's nice to be in the main building, but all the buildings at the GF are close together so it wasn't bad staying in an outer building. GF is a nice resort. I'm not sure I'd stay SL again... the food was nice but we've also stayed in a regular room and liked that as well.

We've also stayed CL at the Poly and enjoyed that as well. They are very different resorts, with different decor and theming... I suggest you choose whichever one has the "look" that appeals to you the most.

We've stayed both GF SL and RPC (Royal Palm Club - main building CL) and my choice would be RPC. SL was ok, but I don't like how the lounge is located right inside the SL building lobby and it is rather small (IMO) and doesn't have a lot of seating. The lounge always seemed very chaotic with no where to really go, whereas the RPC lounge is spacious with plenty of seating (as well as gorgeous views). As others have mentioned, the food offerings are the same in both CLs, but the atmosphere is much more appealing in the main building than in SL (again, just my opinion). SL is conveniently located to the courtyard pool for grabbing snacks and drinks if you are hanging out by that pool, but for me, I would stay GV if I wasn't able to go with RPC.

We love the Poly as it's our favorite resort, however, we have not tried CL there yet but are trying it for the first time in December. I've read some great reviews of it lately and from what others have reported, the view from the lounge is hard to beat :goodvibes.

Thanks for all of the responses. This is very helpful. Does anyone know if we were to stay in the RPC, do we have access to Sugar Loaf as well? This would be convenient if we were by the pool.

From what I understand, guests staying RPC do have access to the SL lounge, but SL guests cannot access RPC.
