2013 Dis Exclusive BackstageMagic Adventure 6/9 - 6/14/13

I just saw the Disney Parks Blog posting about the new show coming to Disneyland, Mickey and the Magical Map. Has anyone else seen anything about it? I'm really looking forward to seeing it. It debuts on May 25th.

Yep. I did a blog about it last week and we talk about it on this week's Disneyland Podcast.

Tom - any chance we are going to get to meet you or any of the other Disneyland podcasters out on the trip? I haven't been listening to your show as much this year because I just haven't had the time. (I'm way behind on the WDW podcast too and have had to pick and choose the ones I listen to.) But I was lstening every week for close to a year leading up to our trip last summer and really enjoyed the show you, Nancy, Tony and Wayne put together each week.

I will be down there the weekend before for the Coasting for Kids event at Knott's and the weekend after...not sure about during your actual adventure.

OK, I apologize in advance if this posting annoys people, but I am excited that park hours are up for DL/DCA! I swear I was going to turn my uber-planner off for this trip, but I just wanted to know the hours and figured as I was spreadsheeting it I would share it with everyone.

Of note the parks opening to GP at 8 AM you can bet this just confirms that we will be having SUPER EARLY starts for this tour if we are doing things in the parks before they open!

Also, "early entry" at DLR applies to resort hotel guests only, with really the only day we could use it is on Friday @ DCA. (At least for those not staying at DGC beyond the 14th.)

The only refurb listed on the website for both parks is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Looks like everything else is expected to be up and running. (Honestly for those that haven't ridden it at DLR, you are not missing that much versus the WDW version.)

Finally for those interested in checking out the Mad T Party it is only being staged on Friday night. I only imported the times for the major shows/parades. Other times like the Aladdin musical are available on the DLR website.

So if I followed everything right with the group Steakhouse 55 dinner we are getting World of Color fast passes right? Are those good for either showing?

I'm asking because I wished upon a star and my wish came true.... Mad T Party will happen on Friday!!!!! Thanks Pete for the info on that! When I was looking at what was posted it was on Saturday nights and I was so bummed that I might not be able to see it. Last year for my birthday I was given Glow with the Show ears and I wanted to utilize them as much as possible and Mad T Party looks awesome as it is.

So I'm wondering if I could party for a few hours after dinner then see WOC again at 10:15?

I guess Kevin's guess of our start times as "zero dark thirty" was right on target. :rotfl2: Yikes! Good thing most of us are starting out on east coast time.

I'm getting soooooo excited!!!:banana::banana::banana:

Out Steakhouse 55 dinner will NOT include WoC fastpasses. When we were originally doing Carthay Circle, it would have. Only the inside DCA dining gets you FPs. You will probably have to get the regular GP fastpasses for the WoC show. If you are lucky, the guides might be able to get them for you, but that is the last day of our trip, so I don't know how likely that is. Getting regular FP for the show isn't that hard, though, especially for the second show.

From our experience last year, the 9:00 pm WoC goes until about 9:30 pm, and there was already a crowd of thousands waiting to enter for the 10:15 pm show.

We will definitely be checking out the Mad T Party after Steakhouse 55! I am not sure of Ulana's opinion, but for me one showing of WoC will be enough.

I'm a big one for video taping and I would like to watch it once with out the video camera too.

I can't stand the excitement! I think I'm gonna just burst!

And a bit of fore warning... I might be more of a crier than Teresa so don't worry if I'm walking around sobbing I'm just happy!

Ha. I get emotional too at some Disney stuff, but not usually big tears, but I get it.

We videotaped WoC last year, so I plan on this year being the "just watch it" visit. Besides, I can't come home with a lot of DL video or DD will flip out. :crazy2:

Kim.......I am a big crier too! We might need to carry a big box of Kleenex with us.

I've got to tell you, it's awfully nice to have someone else doing my research for me; I've been rather obsessively checking for park hours to be released for the last few weeks or so. Also, apparently Space Mountain has finally reopened, so hopefully that refurb list you mentioned is accurate.

I guess Kevin's guess of our start times as "zero dark thirty" was right on target. :rotfl2: Yikes! Good thing most of us are starting out on east coast time.

I'm in the central time zone, so I don't gain quite as much time as those of you on the east coast, but I've been just mentally adding two hours onto any time that sounds early, so "opening at 8:00 AM" becomes "opening at 10:00 AM" in my mind. Of course, the flip side of that is that I'm sure we'll be staying up awfully late at night.

And a bit of fore warning... I might be more of a crier than Teresa so don't worry if I'm walking around sobbing I'm just happy!

I'm not a crier by nature, but the MK welcome show gets me every time, so who knows what will happen to me with some of the things we'll be seeing on this trip. I may need to borrow your Kleenex. :goodvibes

It's my guess that the guides will not secure fastpasses for anything after the farewell breakfast.

Once breakfast has finished, the Adventure is over.

Unfortunately even though we re from the east coast Matt will have me going until park closing. So much for sleeping.

It's no big deal.. I'll deal with whatever. I just can't wait to get there!!

Since it's been so long since my last visit to DL, I'm not remembering the layout well. I wonder what time Fantasmic we are scheduled for and if we will be able to see the fireworks from Fantasmic??

And Kim, I'll be crying with you, those tissues will come in handy.

I'm thinking loads of sleep will not be in the cards during this trip but we can take advantage of long bus rides stuck in LA traffic for naps as long as no one starts singing The Wheels on the Bus or 100 Bottles of Beer on the wall. LOL :dance3:

I was thinking more of I'm Henry the 8th I Am or 10 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed.... :)

Generally seems like no-ones too upset with me for posting, so that's good.

Yeah, I think the early hours will be easier than staying up late. However, I expect we'll be doing both! I was thinking we should have shirts made up: "Sleep is for wimps! DIS ABD BSM '13" :rotfl2:

Since it's been so long since my last visit to DL, I'm not remembering the layout well. I wonder what time Fantasmic we are scheduled for and if we will be able to see the fireworks from Fantasmic??

My guess is they will have us at the 9 PM Fantasmic on Tuesday. I would say that will rap up about 9:25 PM. We did not go out to see Fantasmic when we were out there, but if the fireworks start at 9:30 PM, I am not sure you can really get to see them well in time. The F! area is extremely crowded, and from what I hear it is not a great view of the fireworks. Much like "our" fireworks, the best view is from the hub.

I'm sort of figuring our best night to see the fireworks will be on Wednesday, since there is no ABD stuff scheduled in the evening. I wonder if they will get us exclusive viewing for that. (And Kevin - I don't want to know the answer! Prefer just to speculate!)

Ugh, I hope not! I am totally expecting that ride from LA to Anaheim on Tuesday to involve a nap, even if it's only an hour ride.

Actually in general, I feel like I would rather stop mid-day for a nap than miss out on late-night in the parks. We so rarely get to spend time at night in the parks with our daughter in tow!

I was thinking more of I'm Henry the 8th I Am or 10 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed.... :)

Double UGH! Next thing you'll have us in a round of "Row, Row your boat".

I would much prefer us to sing Disney songs if that is the case:
"We pillage and plunder and rifle and loot,
drink up me hearties yo ho!
We kidnap and ransom and don't give a hoot
drink up me hearties yo ho!
We're rascals, scoundrels, villians and knaves
drink up me hearties yo ho!
We're devils and black sheep and really bad eggs,
drink up me hearties yo ho!"

(And yes sadly I typed that from memory.) :joker:

Thanks for posting the info Pete. I really wanted to check on the Mad T party so I'm really glad we will get to do that on Friday night after dinner!
