Nothing new aside from what I posted earlier. I have a feeling this will be a quiet one that just shows up. They have dropped both free dining and room discounts on the same day, so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary. Plus when folks called for August dates, the cm would have something to offer. I suppose we will see....

I don't have any special insider knowledge, and I know I've read that sometimes you can't trust what you hear from the CMs on the phone, but I literally 5 minutes ago hung up with a CM who said "possibly as soon as next week, but definitely sometime in the next 3 weeks" (how's that for certainty?) there would be room only discounts offered for the late August/early September period.

I actually called because I read on Mousesavers that I could get a 10% discount with AAA, so I wanted to add that. Mousesavers failed to mention that does not apply to LM AoA rooms.

The CM I spoke with very clearly told me there would be no discount offered for my current rooms, but very nicely told me there will soon be a discount and suggested I should upgrade to Port of Orleans Riverside Royal Guest rooms with a discount when it becomes available. Which I'm pretty sure would cost me a heck of a lot more!

I definitely haven't heard anything concrete and haven't really heard any "Buzz" about room discounts for the last 2 weeks in August either. My take on this is because room only discounts are almost always going on at Disney. Other than some specific holiday and peak weeks you can pretty much always get a room discount at Disney. I track travel trends and discounts for lots of different travel companies and discount travel sites and Free Dining is almost always on the buzz sheet even though its only announced two or three times per year - people want and need that deep discount. The big hot topics this week around the travel blogosphere are WDW free dining, Groupon's getaway page that has a 10 day tour of China with airfare and meals from $999 person, Southwest airfare sale, Carnival and will they lower prices again and recover from the bad PR from the last year, etc. I think most people in the travel industry believe that WDW will release some room only discounts for the last 2 weeks of August because if not, they would have to have an unusually high occupancy rate, something comparable to a holiday or peak week, not to. Anything is possible and it could be some kind of fluke and they don't release anything for those dates, but I would think they will be released with the FD offer on the 9th or around June 14, when the current room only offer ends. So, hopefully not too much longer

Those LM rooms have been blacked out of virtually every discount out there since they opened, so I'm anxious to see if anyone will be able to get a FD discount on this upcoming FD offer.

I have a package booked at the Poly during the free dining dates, but I already paid the deposit with a non-Disney Visa (I just received our cards today). Can I call and add free dining to our package when the Visa date happens, or do I have to wait until the regular announcement?

I thought I had read about someone who upgraded during the Visa dates, but had to have the CM cancel their original payment and then pay again with their Visa. And if I have to do that, will that affect my dining reservations?

You can call with your dv. You probably have to switch your deposit to your dv. It will not affect your dining reservations in any way.

In order to take advantage of the DV offer, you will just have to make a $200 payment towards your existing package with your DV. The balance can be paid on any card you wish by the 45 day mark.

All you will have to do is put down another $200 payment with the DV on your reservation. It doesn't affect your reservation and you don't have to cancel anything. Also, your dining Reservations don't have anything to do with your resort reservation. Even if you completely cancelled your WDW resort reservation and stayed off site, you would still have your dining reservations.

does anyone remember how long after the free dining is announced they generally add more dates?
I think last year they ended up going into Dec?? with some blackout dates...but I can't remember at what time they announced it...we are going november 9th-23rd and hoping for some pixie dust free dining....

Oct-Dec deals are released in July/early Aug.

But then where would the CMs go to get their information? Haha just kidding.
