Both from Mara. top is from the bakery section, next to the wine. bottom is from the fridge section. The butterfly one was beautiful. My daughter had that. I had the zebra domes here and 2 visits to boma in one trip :rotfl2:

....*sigh*....looks like.....know where there are other AMAZING desserts? Staring Rolls....OMG!!!!!

In a few weeks we're doing a split stay at AKL and BWV. Told my DH I was only eating bakery stuff. Ha Ha.

I love yummy baked goods! My family thinks I'm crazy, I always have a 2 page scrapbook spread for yummy stuff every trip.

Loved the mickey raspberry thing, zebra domes and strawberry tart (not pictured).

I was hoping they had good cupcakes at the Mara when we were there last week, but the ones they had looked really plain. Just vanilla and chocolate, and without the extra decoration, they looked nothing like that picture at all! We didn't try them, though, so they could have been better than they looked.

Speaking of Starring Rolls, I finally tried the Butterfinger cupcake. Now you're talking! The cake was fresh, and the fudge and cream inside were super yummy.

Those chocolate chip muffins were laced with crack or something. Or maybe it was just that they had about 15 chocolate chips in a muffin the size of a quarter and an inch high. :). The oatmeal was excellent as well.

Also agree with the evening appetizers. Some were tasty, others were too spicy for our wuss tastes as well!

glad to know i'm not the only spice wimp out there! ;) did you happen to eat at sanaa? a lot of people complain it's not spicy enough, but i found pretty much everything there too spicy for me. the chef ended up making me a plain steak, which was fine, but nothing to write home about. i was pretty bummed, as i loved the decor and we had great service.

crack would definitely explain those muffins! at home i get up around 11 (i usually work afternoons and evenings), and i found myself getting up at 9:30 at AKL just to get breakfast!

The croissants had crack in them also!!! Love them!

oh yeah, crack in the croissants too, for sure. darn, now i'm thinking about them!

I know very little about the Animal Kingdom Lodge and suddenly find myself considering staying there! I'm confused about the pools though. Is there one feature pool for the regular rooms and one feature pool for the DVC villas? We would be staying in a standard, pool view room. Also, do you need to bring your room card with you each time you go to the pool?
