We need a little “Magic”, right this very moment! – Completed

oh that food looks delish. I am so hungry right now...

Love, LOVE that picture of you two together.

hmmm, now where are the tasting tickets at????

Alison - That is a gorgeous picture of you! You should wear your hair down more often!

Love the picture of you and Fran. You look really happy to be on the Magic.

And that food porn. WOW!!! WOW!! WOW!

I wonder what that note that didn't make sense said and where your chocolate tasting tix got to? Hmmm.

And I hope your FE gifts worked out for this trip. :thumbsup2

Thanks, that's the same way I normally wear my hair in pictures, I think I just put it in front instead of down my back.

I wish I knew what happened to the note, it said something like. "For the chocolate tasting you can come the day and have your choice." The thing was since there weren't tickets guaranteeing our seats, I was concerned.

Yum!
Palo is the best!!!!!

Looks like you guys enjoyed yourselves. I love the tables by the window.

I read your trip report when you sailed concierge. It looked awesome. NOW THATS A ROOM!!!!!!!
But any room on a Disney cruise is amazing really. Concierge is sailing like a Queen I would imagine. I keep asking my hubby, he says someday. In the meantime I will keep dreaming about it.

Did you guys get to see OZ? I'm looking forward to it.

We seem to always get that table. I have no complaints! We had all the plans of seeing OZ. :rolleyes1

It's dangerous to see pictures of Palo Brunch first thing in the morning. ;) Looks fantastic and you two look great!

Jill in CO

I know! what I would give for that brunch today!

Yummy!!!!! I like seeing all the differences from the Fantasy. I guess it depends on the chefs working.

Don't worry, I totally understand the butter picture :)

I can't wait to hear about the spa treatments.

Uh oh on that chocolate tasting.

Yeah, I was comparing our brunches and they were similar but just a little different. Sort of like walking into the MK when I'm used to DL! :)

Haven't had time to read the update but wanted to wish you a:

Thank you very much! :thumbsup2

I'm all caught up and OMG Palo looks amazing and I must get there. Maybe I'll pay a kid to be Joshua's friend so I can do brunch. :rotfl2:

Thank you for posting the Navigators. I'm looking through any I can find to sort of wrap my head around what's going on on the ship. Seems there's a lot to do at any given moment.

Glad the adjustment to non concierge was painless. :goodvibes

Did room service charge for the milk and cereal as they are in containers? I'm not sure what's extra and what isn't but thought I read that anything that comes in an individual container costs.

The Salon Taster looks great. I won't ask which Fran chose and I'd be jumping the gun. :lmao: I'd love to do something that like. I'd choose the scalp massage, the next massage, and I'd live the facial but knowing we'll be in the sun a lot, I'd most likely get the foot massage too. The collagen eye to looks tempting too but again, with the sun, I don't want my face messed with.

That is a really good photo of you. The big smile is my favorite.

After through all of the food porn and wiping the drool from my chin, the pancakes looks phenomenal. It all looks incredible especially the crab, shrimp, butter, and the chocolate blob dessert (near the tart with the strawberries and blueberry) but out of all of it the pancakes look heavenly with the layers of butter in between. :cloud9: Tell me they tasted as good as they look.

I really hope that you get to go to Palo. Maybe you can sign Josh up for some really cool kids thing and get in for Brunch.

There is so much going on at one time on the ship, you'll never get to do everything you want. I had to skip a lot of things this trip, but got to do a lot of things this trip.

They didn't charge for anything on the room service menu. I should have taken a picture of the options that you could check off. I did give the guy a $3 tip every day that we ordered this breakfast. I have a picture of the room service menu that I'll post at some point.

I wrote in there the services Fran picked. Her feet hurt too much to have anyone touch them so she went with the scalp, neck and hand massage.

I'm glad you like that photo.

Those pancakes had whipped cream in between them! They were really really really sweet. I had a bite, but too sweet for me. Fran loved them!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm contemplating a Disney cruise for the first time in September and find you're posts wonderfully informative. Love that you've taken photos of everything - especially the Navigator. I can't believe how many activities there are on the ship, my kids are going to love it! As for the food porn, you can keep that coming! Fingers crossed you got to the chocolate tasting.

I've got a lot more coming! You and your kids will love a Disney cruise! There is just so much going on!

oh that food looks delish. I am so hungry right now...

Thanks! Tasting tickets are in progress....

Great to see the thread....we were on the same sailing as you and your partner, glad you both had a wonderful time, we did as well :)

Glad you could make it over here! Were you in on the FEE? I'm so glad you had a good time too! Did you save all your Navigators? I am missing one page which will be coming up soon....

I can't wait to hear about the duck boat your as I have it booked for our cruise leaving in 23 days. It was one of the few that had no age requirements, and we loved the Ducks in Wisconsin Dells.

You both look like you had a great time on this cruise and you're right it's not too tough to sail without concierge service. I love ordering a few breakfast items in the morning and enjoying them out on the verandah.

I can't wait for our Nov cruise so we can do Palo for brunch and dinner.

Just got caught up. Where should I start...

How long was the shuttle ride to the port? I would not mind taking a cruise out of Galveston one day.

Sorry about your confiscated iron. Hopefully you were able to make use of the laundry room iron or not even needing an iron. Personally, I hate ironing! In fact, I don't own anything that has to be ironed. If DH wants his dress shirts ironed, I make him do it. :lmao:

Chocolate tasting?! :hyper: Wow, so stinking jealous. I feel like you've been doing better tastings than what I had on the Wonder and the Dream! I hope you get whatever happened on that note figured out.

Palo. Seriously. Ridiculous. No pizza on this visit? :confused3

I'll try to get to that day in the next week so that you can see what it was like. We really enjoyed it, not to much exertion, but still we got to see a lot a learned a lot. I'm sure if we were up to snorkeling, zip lining or any of that we would have been all over it, but this was just fine. We got a nice city tour and some great water pictures too!

I wouldn't have wanted to go out on the verandah this cruise, after we left Galveston, I've only reported on the first day, but I can tell from there on out it was HOT and HUMID! Beyond git out! I poked my head out to see what it was like and on the mornings when I had frozen our cabin out the night before, I only had to open the door for about five minutes and Fran was warm enough to crawl out of the covers and get dressed. Then she was begging me to close the door and letthe A/C kick back in!

From where we were, the shuttle was only like 15-20 minutes tops. As long as you allow for travel time to Galveston, there was some interesting stuff to do there, but a PITA to get there! Either that or a lot of money!

I ended up taking your tip, send the shirts out for pressing, and you know what? The iron cost $17 and the pressing was only $6!!!!!

I decided after doing the wine tastings on the Wonder that I didn't like other people picking my wine since I know enough about wine, but I'll totally go for the spirits, what the heck do I have to lose and on this cruise that was the good bet! Our tastings were Iree! That will make sense later!

We had a little less than an hour before we had to leave the room again, I changed into something a little more comfortable, Fran napped, and soon we were off. This Martini tasting took place in Sessions which was all the way forward and if you remember our cabin was all the way Aft. So we headed out on our trek, and arrived at Guest Services which was midship on the way to Sessions where the Tasting would take place.

When we arrived at Guest Services they didn’t understand the cryptic note either, so they did some further research. It turns out that while tastings were being booked in Rockin’ Bar D, they were selling like hotcakes at Guest Services. They sold out the tasting with only one seat left. The bartender Claudette gave us approval that we could still attend the tasting, but we would need to pay for the second tasting at the time. I snatched up the last ticket figuring that if it was sold out there was no way that they were going mess with us if we both showed up and I had a ticket, especially since we had now gotten so many managers involved, someone had to know about it on the day of that we would be OK.

And so then we headed off to Sessions for our tasting. For whatever reason there was some “Accupuncture session” going on in there, they weren’t doing it, just explaining about it’s benefits and stuff. The problem was the servers for the Martini tasting couldn’t get everything all set up because folks were in the chairs listening to the talk. As soon as the speaker finished our hostess said that if you weren’t there for the Martini tasting, you had to leave because we were starting. She turned out to be quite a character and we enjoyed every session that we had with her.

Here are some shots of the bar.

And of course us in our relaxed state

Soon the tasting began. Claudette was from Jamaica, and the first thing she said was that she was here to get us drunk!

We started off with a traditional martini, this one was served dry. One thing that she pointed out was that there was no such thing as a Martini that wasn’t strong. By definition, the only things that go into a Martini are alcohols and garnishes. If you put some sort of juice, it is just a splash for color. Most of the time the Martinis are flavored with a liqueur not a juice.

They came around a little later to offer us to make the Martini “Dirty”. I know that this means add the juice from the olives. Since I don’t like olives, I declined, but Fran was all over that.

The next Martini was an Appletini, this was Vodka and Apple Schnapps.

Then we moved on to some untraditional Martinis, this is a Pomegranite Passion Fruit Martini. I know it had some pomegranate liqueur, muddle passion fruit and vodka. This one was really good!

They finished us off with a chocolate Martini, my favorite!

Somewhere in there, we got a few extra drinks for answering trivia questions correctly, but in the end no one ended up getting drunk! :rotfl:

After class we headed up to the Art Gallery, there was a silent auction going on and Fran had placed a bid on this one.

No one else bid, so she got the picture. She also purchased this one from the Gallery.

As we were waiting to pay for our purchases, Stitch walked by.

Fran was a little bit hungry so we stopped by the Cove café to see what they had to offer. You have to pay for drinks in here, but the snacks are complimentary.

She got one each of these, and said that they were both very good.

Then we were off to the spa.

I saved all my navigators, I pick up one extra copy for each day do I was such o have a "clean" copy lol but I did end p missing the outer sleeve from the very first day, but have one more place to look.

Great update.

As I'm a one-pot screamer, I'm sithing shere go-hing *hic*.....just by looking at your pictures. :rotfl2:

What a great Martini experience. :thumbsup2

I though that was butter. The whipped cream would be too sweet for me but I can never have enough butter. :lovestruc

I hope I get to do Palo brunch too. It looks amazing. Is it as nice on the Wonder?

I must have missed what she chose but went back on saw. I guess we'll find out in the spa update if she enjoyed them. ;)

Oh yeah, we'll definitely need another cruise or three to get it all in. I haven't even gone but know we're going to love it.

Great update. Sounds like the perfect day. Martini tasting and a spa day!

Did you feel much motion being AFT?

We're the managers easy to work with during the ticket confusion?

Like the relaxed state photo. :thumbsup2 I also like Claudette. :rotfl2:

I'm a dirty martini girl too. Too bad they didn't have the bleu cheese stuffed olives.

The pomegranate one also looks delicious. I'm not a huge appletini fan anymore.

Chocolate martini. :lovestruc

Extra drinks + trivia = BONUS! Sounds like fun.

The Chip n Dale picture is great. How does the auction work? Is there a minimum you can bid?

Mmmm, drinks and the spa. Sounds like a perfect day to me!

OMG! So just recently (on Tuesday) I had my first 'real' martini. Unless lemon drops are considered 'real', than nevermind. But I had my first dirty Martini with blue cheese olives...wow! It was so delicious! I told my friend that i've never tried a non-fruity one before but would only try it if there was blue cheese olives in it. Of course, I checked for them on the Dream and the Wonder thinking they would have them but they didn't. Well, she surprised me and went out and bought some for me. I'm a fan! :cool1:

You're really making me want to check into another cruise. We booked a dummy one on our MR cruise, which is technically coming up in October, so I need to figure out what to do with it...

The Fish Extender Exchange (FEE) is pretty fun. We appreciated mostly the candy and other simple gifts. I also liked getting magnets to put on our door. I might do that for the next time. It was just kind of fun to find all the gifts at the door when you arrived, although I do have to say that some of the gifts were like, "huh?" :confused3

Great update.

What a great Martini experience. :thumbsup2

It was fun to try all those different kinds of drinks. And if you are well practiced in the art of drinking, you would have been sloshed!

I though that was butter. The whipped cream would be too sweet for me but I can never have enough butter. :lovestruc

Yeah the cream made them just too sweet for me. It's nice on whatever ship you do. I like the chicken parm on the Wonder just a little bit better, but both were great!

You feel the motion more on the upper decks, not so much whether you are forward or aft.

You know she doesn't really tell me if she likes things or not. I just have to assume she enjoyed the treatments.

On the auction, there is a minimum bid. They keep a notepad in the Gallery and anyone can come by and bid on the pictures. In our experiences, no one really seems to bid on the pictures so she gets them for the minimum.

Mmmm, drinks and the spa. Sounds like a perfect day to me!

It was a pretty darned good first day!

A lemon drop counts as a Martini, it's just not a traditional kind, but the recipe I found was made with lemon juice, if you used lemoncello, it would qualify in Claudette's definition being made with all alcohol. I'm glad you liked the regular one. Didn't you also try a chocolate Martini at my suggestion? I remember you saying it was very strong and your DH had to finish it.

Where is your dummy cruise out off and where does it go?

Thank you so much for sharing :goodvibes

You're welcome! :)

I got so behind again. First of all I wish you a belated Happy Birthday.

It is official, I hate the new Navigators. I am hoping that they have not changed over on the Wonder. How many pages does the Navigator have now?

I love the earrings. I can understand that you were tired. I love the Parrot Cay menu. I am a little sad that I may only get to eat this once or twice more. Last year on the Alaska cruises they served the Taste of Alaska menu on the Parrot Cay rotational night.

I am glad that you got to watch Brave. I was not entirely sure what to make of it, but only watched it on DVD. However, I am still excited that it looks like Merida will be on our Alaska cruise.

I love my Mickey wake up call. I was so excited when I realised that they have the same wake up call at the Grand Californian, too.

Brunch looked amazing. I love the Strawberry soup and the Chicken Parmesan is my favourite dish. I booked a Brunch on both parts of our back to back cruise just so that I can eat this twice. I have to remember about the butter. I don't normally eat butter, but if it is that good, it needs to be tried. I love the butter at Yachtsman Steakhouse and Narcoossee's.

I am sorry that the chocolate tasting got messed up. The Martinis in the tasting looked good. I have to admit that I always come out of those tastings a little tipsy.

I love the artwork and seeing Stitch just made my day. I so miss the little guy. I really want to do the character breakfast at PHC Grill on May 17th, but Graham agreed today that we can have dinner at Goofy's Kitchen that day and I don't want to push my luck with two character meals in day. Maybe I should let him sleep and sneak off for breakfast by myself.

Forgot about the Chocolate Martini! I've had one before a long time ago. Hmm, I don't remember that. Usually things can never be too strong for me :lmao:

I know it's the middle of October, but i'm not sure where! We just booked the shortest and cheapest cruise available with the intention of changing it. I think it was on the Fantasy. Either way, it's not a date we would be able to do because of DH's job.
