I have an idea and would like to have some feedback. Would anyone be interested in having buttons made or magnets made that we could identify ourselves as part of this group?

If so, if someone will do a design, I can see about getting the items made and sent to everyone before we sail.

I have a design started on the Facebook page, if you're interested. :) it's a drawing right now, but my dad will help me make it in to a graphic. :)

Oh ok. I don't do FB so I didn't see your design. Nevermind then!

Hi everyone! We just booked the October 20th, double dip. Our family consists of me (Chrissy), Jeremy, and our 3 boys, Austin (11), Aiden (8), and Mason (4). This will be our second cruise. We sailed the Dream in May 2011. We are hoping for beautiful weather and can't wait for two amazing days at Castaway Cay!!!

Welcome aboard! We are so looking forward to the two CC days also!

Hi All! We just got back from our Western Caribbean cruise on the Disney Wonder yesterday! It was our first cruise ever and we loved it so much that we booked this cruise in OCT! I just read that the Magic is being renovated and should be completed by October 2013, so that makes this cruise even better. We did FE on our last cruise and would love to participate again, we had 21 cabins and it was so much fun. Counting down the days already!

Welcome aboard! Did your cruise call on Key West? So awesome you booked! There is an FE started for this cruise...PM TheBeadPirate to be added. :)

I love the idea of buttons or magnets!

We need to keep it as simple as possible. Wish I could post it here, but last August we did a Mickey head outline and each person individually did their screen name on a tag.

We could do something similar, but just leave off our screen names. I did post it on Facebook.

I'm getting more and more intrigued with this FE stuff. On my first Disney cruise a few months ago I didn't know anything about it. So now I want to find out more. It's going to be me (Tarina), DH (Adam), DD (Sophie - just turning 4 a few weeks before we sail), aunt (Jean), cousin (Dawn), and Dawn's DD (Lilly - also 4 at time of sailing). Dawn and I are ready to start making stuff!! Can't wait until I can PM BeadPirate!

This is the one I am talking about with the information. It was started on 4/19/13 by Webmaster Pete. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3098651 Also, I think some people were using a wreath holder over their door to hang the FE and also taping decorations on the door.

So I get the impression that DCL is going to start enforcing some rules pertaining to FE and over the door organizers.

I think the notice was mainly as reminder to the No Tape policy - Magnets only, plus an opportunity to add the no over the door organizers. They do make Magnetic wreath holders for those wanting to hang a wreath on their door. I have never seen a FE hung on the door, only the Mail Hook next to the door, which this DCL Letter does not mention.

On the Fantasy last October - A child put stickers all over a stateroom door to "decorate it" like the magnets they were seeing on other doors.

Please add my dad and me to the list. This will be our 30 disney cruise. Where do i sign up for fe? My dad is 94. We have done all the ships. Looking forward to see the changes they are doing.

Thank you, TheBeadPirate, for adding me to this Cruise Meet thread. There is so much information to read through so I apologize now for asking a repeat question but I'm not navigating this forum very well.

#1) How do you determine how many cabins each FE member has to plan for (will I get a certain number of cabins - or all cabins that are participating) and is that a gift per person/per cabin/per day or is it a gift per person/per cabin/one time during the cruise?

#2) Can you direct me to the thread that might talk about whether or not Halloween will be observed on this particular sailing?

Thank you so much. Tarina

I hope we get to deliver to all cabins - I would vote not to split the list.

As far as delivering, it's your choice. It's not fun when limits are set like #1-6 deliver on day one, etc. Same with gifts. Can be person, per cabin, however you choose to do it. It's meant to be fun, not work :)

Thank you. I just found the FAQ thread and it has a lot of helpful information on the FE. I see that is says generally it is a gift to each participant once during the cruise. I was about to panic when I saw there were so many people and if I had to have a trinket for all those people each day. I would end up spending the whole cruise trying to visit everyone every day!:scared:

Agreed! All FEs we have participated in have been pretty much open. Love it that way!

I need advice here. If I book a flight for 11:50 AM out of Miami on the day the ship gets back, will we make the flight? Right now I have Disney transportation booked.

As long as customs is not held up and disembarkation begins around the normal 7-7:30ish timeframe, you should not have any problems. MIA is about 15 to 20 minutes from the port. Since we are returning on a Friday, there will be workday commuters...factor that in as well.

We are now a party of 8 - Mom got work off so it will be our family + the 3 grandparents.
Super excited about the changes - can't wait to see them!

After the fiasco with hurricane Sandy, we will NEVER book an early flight again! We got lucky with Southwest, they changed our flight for free, but lots of the airlines wouldn't and I know a lot of people ended up paying out the ears because of it. Not sure how vacation insurance treats this sort of thing, but we will just err on the side of caution from now on!

I was also on the Hurricane Sandy Cruise last year (Same week of October as this cruise) it was 1 pm by the time we got off the ship. Several in our group had to re-arrange their flights multiple times as the port arrival time kept changing, a couple of them had to delay departure until the next day. I recommend a getting a late afternoon departure time to be safe.

We aren't going straight home after the cruise. We do need to be in Orlando by 5:30 PM if not earlier .
