Vacation Like You Mean It?

Well, I'm sure we've all seen the new UOR commercials with the tagline "Vacation Like You Mean It!". Perhaps, it's just me but I don't seem the understand that slogan. Are they trying to suggest to make the most of your vacation? Kind of a pointless thread, but just curious what others thought it meant.

I personally love the slogan because it represents the kind of vacations our family takes. We are by no means a go lay on the beach type, we are an adventure type. That's how I interpret it anyway.

I am not sure..But I am LOVING all the tv air time Universal ads are getting.I get so excited when they come on.

I think it's both that and to get out there and really experience things/have fun/go on an adventure. I think that's the angle Universal goes for with its attractions- at each attraction they make a clear point that you, the guest, are the centerpiece of the story (whether you are a reporter on a Scoop vehicle at Spider-Man, training as a rookie for Men in Black, etc.), rather than watching scenes happen around you on a slow-moving vehicle, which is the classic Disney formula.

:thumbsup2

to not let them down. We will "Vacation Like We Mean It". In fact, this time next Sunday we will be strollin' Citywalk, looking for dinner.

Of course that is AFTER our little jaunt out to Walgreens to pick up some Blue Moon and other breakfast snacks. Now, does anyone know if there is a way to take a short cut across the back parking lot of the Portofino Bay and blaze a trail through the greenery? Or is it better to stay pedestrian and use the sidewalks all the way around?

I admire your bravado, but we have snakes and spiders everywhere in Florida, especially in bushes. I wouldn't risk it, personally.

Don't worry unless your allergic to spider, it's rare you will see poisonous snake, and you will likely win the lottery before running into a venomous spider in FL. I grew up in FL in the woods, and live basically in a swamp now.

Awww. snakes and spiders are all smaller than my foot. We have some of those here in the wastelands of Central Texas. As long as the wild hogs are kept at bay I should be OK. I was more worried about the local constabulary or hotel staff! Some of them get might irate when you tromp through the landscaping.

luckily when i "accidentally" made my own path at RPR no one noticed :rotfl2:

We don't have these ads in Australia, but I am loving this phrase - we certainly intend to "vacation like we mean it" - can't wait! :cool1::yay::dance3:

The kind valet parking attendants at the front of the Portofino Bay Hotel pointed out the most direct route to Walgreens. Guess what? Their liquor store is open from noon to midnight on Sunday! Vodka and mixers for all!
Now you really can Vacation Like You Mean It!

With the economy like it is, I have been hearing the term "Staycation." For a Staycation you are on a vacation from work, but you stay home and spend the time going to local museums, zoos, etc. I think that "Vacation Like You Mean It" gives the opposite meaning. It encourages people to actually travel somewhere and do something. I much prefer that!

I did a little of both. 1st week of vacation this year was a staycation. Then because of saving money not going out of the city, we had enough money to pre-pay for our stay on site Universal vacation later this summer. Sometimes you have to compromise so later you can vacation like you mean it lol :)
