MAy 6 th supposedly for Disney Visa card holders, May 9 th for general public.

I have a question for those of you know how the Disney Visa card works:

My sister is going with us on our September trip and has a Disney Visa card. Should we use her card and book the FD a few days earlier than when the general public discount comes out? What happens if later she decides to not go (she can be a little flaky at times )? Would Disney let me pay the remaining balance on my card or do they care who pays the bill? TIA!

As long as the deposit is made on a Disney Visa card, they don't care who pays the balance. The balance doesn't have to be paid with the Disney Visa. I booked a reservation with the Disney Visa but paid for the rest of it with a different card.

I guess you misunderstood me. I never said they'd take the room away; I just said that you can't book a room before a promotion starts in order to guarantee being able to take advantage of the promotion.

Yes, I did misunderstand, sorry.

It makes sense that you can't guarantee a promotion... otherwise everyone would jump on it early and hold it 'just in case'.

My biggest concern was not missing out on FD, which would be a disappointment at this point but not a big deal. It was losing our room that worried me... I just can't have that.

I'm one of those people who have to do/experience things to understand them... trying to understand all this through reading/research just drains my brain cells.

I usally hang out on the Dis Cruise Boards ...

But I am hoping you lovely people can help me!!

Are there any discount codes including dining for the time period of 8/15 - 9/1/2013 or did I miss it?? Or did Disney not have anything?? I tried to keep my eyes out for it ... but maybe it just passed right by me... any info or pointing me to the right board would be great!!!

Thank everyone -- And lots of pixie dust...

There have been no public offers for that timeframe to date, but stay tuned...

:sad2:Really Really NOT happy! Just got off the phone with a cast member in reservations who assures me no free dining in September or any month this year! :worried: Would they make that up???

:rolleyes1Just got off the phone with a different cast member telling me that I was misinformed. Is this normal for cast members????

Yes. They aren't, allowed to tell if they know and many times theh find outs pretty last minute.

I have a question. Previously in the thread it was stated that in order to add FD to a reservation you had to have a package with room, tix and dining. I currently have a package with room and tix, but not dining. If FD comes out during my dates, can I just add it to the package or will I need to rebook a different package? TIA

You can add it to the package. You just cannot add it to a room only reservation.

That happens every year and someone always freaks out and freaks out other people waiting for FD. What the cast member told you is what they know that there is no free dining offer this year as of right now. They might not even have a clue that they are going to offer it yet themselves either. Not all disney reservations CM are disneyaholics and follow the dis boards.

Hi..I have LM for 8/25 to 8/30..if a RO comes out, and LM is not included..is it worth the money to switch to POP? How much in avg do u save at 15% at values? Thanks!

Usually 5 to 15% at values. It depends what you want. I stayed at LM last Nov and I decided I would stay no matter what because it was new and I wanted to try it. I was lucky and my friend got a pin for free dining and since were had overlapping trips we both could use it under her name. I would've stayed there with out it too, but because I had it, I upgraded to deluxe dining to give that a try as well (and it was too much food for us). Now that I have stayed there, i will probably only stay in the future with a discount because I found the LM rooms so far out and normally at Pop we get a preferred pool room to be close to the main building.
I loved the resort and our room and I do not regret staying there though and like I said, I was going to stay whether I had a discount or not.

Ultimately the Decision to change resorts to save a few $ comes down to how badly you want to stay at a particular resort. A 15% RO discount amounts to $15 for each $100 spent, so if your stay is costing you $1000 you would save $150. Only you can decide whether to change or not but to me I would stick with my original choice for such a small savings.

has been asked in this thread but I can't find it anywhere. I have an pap. If/when they offer free dinning do I still need to get tickets? In the past you didn't have to..

You always have to buy tickets to get FREE dining. A minimum number of days (they are saying two for this sale).
You don't have to buy tickets when you PAY for the full price dining plan, if you have an AP.
