We're planning a trip towards the end of October of this year. Any idea when/if a new military offer would be released?

I'm sorry if this has been asked before. :confused3. We are going to WDW in May and staying at Pop Century but will be getting our park tickets at SOG. Will we be able to have the front desk at Pop add our tickets onto our KTTW cards? It would be easier to keep track of one set of cards rather than two. :)

If they are the special four day Armed Forces Salute the answer is no. If they are just discounted MYW tickets the answer is probably yes.

No, sorry but military discounted tickets can not be added to KTTY (through Shades,, base ITT, or Disney). I just keep the whole family's park tickets in my wallet and only take them out to enter and FP. Everyone else has their room key for charging.

I went through a bunch of this thread but couldn't find the answer.

Our nephew is buying 6 for us and himself for our trip next. does anyone know if the base or shades of green charges a surcharge for using a credit or debit card to purchase the six tickets? he had heard they might....

I've never been charged a surcharge either at the base (Keesler AFB) or Shades of Green.

Enjoy your trip.

Nope, no surcharge at Shades or Base ITTs.

I have ready through previous posts and could not find this info. My husband (retired Army) and Myself are going to be in Disney for two weeks for a wedding and extended celebration. We bought ourselves ten day tickets cause that is what we needed. We also purchased the 6 military promo tickets and plan on activating them for our kids and grandkids. Will that be a problem if the military member is not using one of the tickets. We will be activating them and entering parks with guests, we just needed much longer tickets for ourselves then 4 days.

That's a toughie mickeymommy3

Cheshire Figment will have to weigh in, but I know there is no issue with a military member activating tickets (5 not 6) for others if they have an annual pass.

But not sure if it is possible if the member is using a 10-day ticket, it is more expensive than the Disney Armed Forces Salute ticket so that may fly. But I don't think you'll be able to activate 6, as the discount benefit is the member (or spouse) plus 5.

We didn't even think about until after we bought all 6, both the military member and spouse are using the ten day tickets. I am hoping, I should say praying that we can activate all 6 and let family use them. Since the 6 are going to children and grandchildren. Are intention was not to get-away with anything, didn't realize until after that military had to use one. Our base just said he had to be there to activate. and they knew one of them was not for member, as we purchased the ten day for us as well.

Cheshire Figment will chip in when he gets a chance, I'm pretty good with out of the ordinary questions on the mil discounts, but he is the expert!

This is one I've not run across so I'm curious too. BTW there was never a thought of trying to get away with something. I find that many base ticket offices are less that up to speed on the Disney Armed Forces Salute.

Cheers, Steve

This could be a problem.

The official internal notice states
Military Personnel can purchase 4-Day Military Promotion tickets any time during the offer period for themselves and up to 5 family members and/or friends.

And it states in the next paragraph
...their spouses may purchase the 4-Day Military Promotion Tickets during this period for up to five (5) family members and/or friends (including the spouse).

So it is quite clear that to purchase six tickets, one must be for the service member.

I just thought I'd chime in with an interesting tid bit (maybe this has already been discussed - I haven't been following this thread very closely)

When we went on our trip a couple weeks ago, the CM who "activated" our AFS tickets gave us new tickets, so we didn't end up having the "flag mickey head" on our tickets the whole time.
It was nice, because we were able to access the RFID turnstiles in addition to the standard ones.

It's not really trip changing or anything, just unexpected.

I just want to triple check on this.....

After scrolling through over 100 posts all the info gets a little jarbled in my brain.

We went the 2nd week of December last year and used 4 tickets.

I am highly considering another trip the 2nd week of OCTOBER this time since DD hasn't gotten to check out MNSSHP....

Since the offer resets in September, I am able to get another 4 tickets, even though it will only be 10 months between visits, correct?

It isn't a 1 time per YEAR offer is it?

I just want to be extra sure before I start really planning.

This great offer (along with the room only rate) is the only way we are able to do so many wonderful trips! :)

Yes, the year starts new in October, but there's no guarantee that they'll offer the military tickets again next year. There's also no guarantee of what the price for the tickets will be, how many tickets we'll be allowed to buy or how many days they'll be good for-- the amount goes up every year and the number of days has gone down in the past-- it started at 5 days.

As much as I would love to be able to count on the military tickets and the room discount, I don't rely on it until we get the word from Steve, who posts on the boards here, that there will be one offered this year.

I'm hoping along with you, though!

Thanks for the mention appleorchard!

You are right the Disney Armed Forces Salute doesn't run on "years' it is for specific offer periods. THe current one runs 1 October 2012 through 28 September 2013. While there is no guarantee, I think things look good.

NicoleK1974, it's not a one time per offer deal so: You used 4 AFS tickets in December of what year? 2012? If so you still have 2 tickets that you could use prior to 28 Sept. If it was 2011 then you currently have 6 available.

I just read through this thread and want to verify something. I am the spouse of the military member. I have my dependent ID. I am going to Disney with my best friend. Can I buy the AFS 4 day hoppers for both of us?

DH will not be with us on the trip but it looks like only I need to be there, correct?

Thanks!! :goodvibes
