I Don't think so.

One thing i have always read is if you see something buy it. You never know if it will be at World of Disney at DTD or even still at the same store a few days later.

I agree with PP, if you see something, buy it! I have made the mistake far too often of not buying something I know I wanted thinking I would find it somewhere else. I end up having to take the time to make a special trip to go buy it.

For example, last trip, I saw a cute onesie on my first day that I wanted to get for a friend and I was sure would be sold all over, but nope! Just the one shop at EPCOT and I had to take over an hour on my last day to go buy it.

Some things are only sold in a few (or one) locations in the parks, you might find some things also at DTD, and some things you might only find at DTD. Also, you will not, 99% of the time, find a cheaper price at the World of Disney store.

The prices at WDW are the same whether you buy them at a resort shop, park shop, or DTD.

And as another poster suggested, if you see something you like, buy it! the World of Disney store carries lots of merchandise, but not everything found at all of WDW. Some items are park-specific (i.e. the cute stuffed animals wearing safari outfits are ony at AK).

The good news is, if you buy something and change your mind later, you can return the item to any WDW shop. You don't have to do returns at the same shop where you purchased the item. Makes it very convenient, since you can return items at your resort gift shop. That happened to me; I bought a t-shirt for my niece and just guessed her size. After talking to my sister, I decided to return the shirt for a different size, and did it at our resort gift shop (even though I had bought the shirt at MK). Easy peasy!

And you need not lug the purchase around all day. You can have items delivered from the park to your on property resort (take a day for the purchase to get there) OR you can have the purchase waiting for you at the front of the park at the end of the day ( I think you need to allow a few hours for this service). I usually use the service that has my bags waiting for me at the park exit at the end of my day.

I think that both stores pretty much have the same merchandise and are all the same price really, best part is not having to carry it around all day-you can have it delivered to the hotel :)

As others have said, not all of the stores carry the same merchandise. You will, though, see a ton of stuff at World of Disney that you see at the other stores. It's mostly the more unique or park specific merchandise that you will only find at one or two stores. That's just my experience...

I know the first is for on-site guests only, but is the bolded option for on-site guests only, as well?

I agree with the posters about buying something when you see it, alot of the stores at the park have unique things not available at the large store at DTD, that being said the store at DTD has a large selection of merchandise available in one spot if shopping isnt' your thing and you want to limit how many shops you have to go into. Think of the big store as a department store like JCP, Sears etc - lots of seperate rooms all in one building ie. boys dept, girls dept, jewelry dept, toy dept etc.

But the prices for the same items will be the same at Disney shops for the most part, which is the answer to your question. I love DTD for the basics and the park shops for specific things that I am interested in on whatever trip I am on, like when I fell in love with Giraffes, so the shops in AK were better for me on that trip :)

More than once, we've seen something (t-shirt or whatever) at a shop and planned to buy it in the same shop the next day, but had the merchandise completely turn over, over night! So it's really true about buying something you love when you see it -- even if you return to the same shop the next day, it could be gone!

I concur - buy it when you see it.

Even though it FEELS like the same stuff is everywhere, it never fails that the thing I saw and passed by I never could find again.

I agree with what everyone else has said-buy it when you see it! The prices are usually the same all over, but not the merchandise. I love the Country Bear Jamboree (I know, I'm weird), and I once saw a stuffed Big Al doll that was not available anywhere else in WDW except for the Frontierland Trading Post. I hemmed and hawed all week about buying it, and went back on the last day of our trip. Luckily, it was still there and I grabbed it.

While the prices may be the same at the parks, as they are at DTD, if you happen to have a car it may be worth it to make a run over to the Disney Outlet. I always thought the stuff over there was like from the season before (and alot of it is). However, one trip we went over there and the exact same tshirt that I had seen just the day before at DS for $32.00 was marked down to $9.00 at the Outlet. I also bought the hoodie to match it for a ridiculously low price (a turquoise t shirt with a black and pink plaid Mickey appliqued on it and a black hoodie with the same pink, turquoise, and black Mickey appliqued on it, with the matching plaid lining). I think the hoodie was like $50.00 or $60.00 in the park and I got it for less than $20.00 at the outlet. It just so happened I wore that same tshirt during my next trip a few months later and again saw the exact same tshirt at that same store in DS (second store on the left as you are walking toward the hat), still for $32.00.
