It was put out as the 2014 changes- to me, that means for ALL the races.

I had absolutely no intention of running the Disney Princess 1/2 again until my daughter was old enough to join me. To be honest, it's just not my favorite Disney event. Thanks to runDisney's new Glass Slipper Challenge.... I'm in! Going to make it a girl's weekend. Not sure whether I'll have my legs back underneath me after the Dopey Challenge. Here we go... again and again and again!

What's next runDisney? I'm hoping for a Disneyland Paris running event.

Howdy! New to the group :-) Running the PHM- yay! I turn 40 a month after the race, so this is my birthday present to myself :thumbsup2 Going with 3 of my girl friends and doing the Glass Slipper challenge. Did the Tinkerbell half in January and loved every minute. I am from California and have never been to Disney World. So the differences in parks is a whole new concept for me!

One big question I do have.......Is there a way to find out which hotels are host hotels? We are definitely going to stay onsite, and thinking of staying at the Coronado. But will switch if it is not a host hotel. TIA!

Princess weekend all hotels will be host hotel and gave transportation. I stayed at Coranado this year, love that hotel! :) good luck in your training,I will be doing the Glass Slipper challenge as well!

With all the excitement of the new 10k being added.. I find myself especially sad that I may actually decide against the phm weekend for 2014. :sad2: I haven't decided for sure yet... but given that my dh wants to run his first half in WDW (and the phm would not be his first choice)... and the cost of points is less for the time during the WDW marathon weekend.... AND my work schedule will allow me to stay longer for the WDW 1/2. I hate to miss out! But I am thinking I might have to wait till 2015 to do the phm again... :( At least then it looks like I will have a girlfriend going... not that going with dh is a bad thing, but I can certainly understand why he would feel more drawn to the WDW 1/2

Can I still hang out here? I like to at least think I am a princess at heart. :goodvibes

Who knows though... maybe the phm will work out.

I have a question for all of you experienced runners. I was planning on making the PHM my first, but I love a good challenge and was thinking of going for the glass slipper! Am I crazy? Is it totally naive of me to think its possible? A bit about me so you know where I am coming from. I'm in good shape. I work out at least 5 times a week now, just not tons of running or any distance running. I have done a sprint triathlon last summer, which was .33 mile swim, 15 mi bike and 5k. I've done another 5k a few weeks ago and was planning on more 5ks in early summer and 10ks by late. Now I'm thinking if I want to go for the challenge maybe I need to up my training and try for a half in late fall??? But, I really wanted the Princess to be my first half. Input from anyone? Are there other people planning on making the GSC their first half race?

If I have my way, it will be my second. I really want that pink C2C medal, I just don't know if I can make it work.

Forgive me if this has already been asked and answered, Princesses, but is there anything more solid than a rumor out there about changed proof of time requirements for the starting corrals? I've seen the updated requirements on the registration page for the WDW Marathon weekend, but the PHM page hasn't been changed.

I believe you will see the same with the PHM. I am hoping for new front corrals too :D.

Absolutely this is possible! Train smart and run consistently.

Thinking of doing the princess but honestly just how bad is it if you stay offsite? I can stay offsite in a timeshare for free. I know last year at the ToT 10 miler the line of cars was crazy long and we just zipped by in the bus. I'm worried it'll be too much offsite but it's the difference between going & not going.

:wave2: Joining in on the thread...after the Glass Slipper & pink C2C medal announcement I think I'm in for it all again in 2014 eventhough I said I was just going to stick to Tink for the next few years. So, I'm jumping back into the madness!!! :faint:

In 2012 when I did the Princess I stayed at Windsor Hill in a pool home way cheaper and I got to the race at 4:30 am. My Hubby met me after the race at 9:30 am. It was not bad getting on and off to me. Our family is just to large to stay on property and we can't justify spending 1,000 of dollars more to rent points when we can have a pool home. We used the park ticket discount to go to parks. It was not a hassle to us at all!!! 2014 I am definite we will rent a home again.

Don't we all think that? :rotfl:

You're advice and friendly chat is always welcome here! :goodvibes

OK, I'm in :)

The plan was... Tink and W&D in 2014 for my C2C... now with the Glass Slipper Challenge... yeah, plans have changed ;)

I did PHM in 2012 as my first half-marathon and I LOVE this race ::yes:: So excited to be doing this again!!!

Is it June 11th yet?? LOL!!!

I have not decided to jump into the madnes yet....want to go to Hawaii with DH next Feb for whale watching and know he can't get two weeks off from SWA. (like he is the only pilot they have and the airline won't be the same without him for 2 weeks!:rotfl2:). If there is even the slightest remote possibility of a Disney Paris race...I am sooooo there !

We are doing DL half in sept...did we not think how hot it would be in TX during summer training ?!:confused3

That is PRECISELY the reason why I did that one once and said NEVER AGAIN. I was reeeeeeeally close to getting sucked into it again with the DDD challenge but thankfully we're getting our Thanksgiving trip that we wanted so that nixed the DL and/or DDD for sure...I know I would have regretted it because of the weather. I had to carry twice the amount of fluid that I needed even on short runs when I trained for it...half of it I drank and the other half I poured over my head. I felt like a soggy pack mule :lmao:

Thanks for the info! I was assuming all onsite hotels were host hotels, just needed reassurance :) Glad to hear you loved the Coronado!

I'm so in!!
I was planning on the 1/2 anyway but I can do an easy 10K the day before.

Now to see if I'm going alone or with the family.
