What do YOU do in line?

What do you guys and gals do in line to pass the time? The last time we went, we would try to take the silliest picture we could. :upsidedow I caught a pic of my brother talking on the phone, but it looks like the phone is attacking him! :upsidedow

We talk to each other about our next stop, our favorite thing we've done so far that day, what our next meal/snack will be... I will take a couple of pics of the kids in line depending on where we are. Just normal family time stuff is all we need to pass the time. :goodvibes

I think a lot of people worry too much and think that they need to pack a bunch of stuff to keep their children entertained in lines, when all they need to do is engage their children in conversation. :goodvibes

lol we get FP :) I have to say we have never really waited in a line for a long time that I needed to give my DD's things do

I like to talk to the people either behind me or ahead of me in line. It's a fun and interesting way to pass the time. Usually I'll ask them where they are from, where they are staying or if they've eaten at any good restaurants, etc.... Just small talk, but I always learn some new info. and tips. It's just like coming on the dis boards. :goodvibes

If you are in line with my FIL, you complain about how long the line is, how the people are filling in enough ahead of you, how hot it is, or how off the estimated wait time was.

When just DH and I are in line, we just talk about whatever. I do spend a little bit of line time checking in on my phone because I do run a business that requires me to be available via e-mail even when I am on vacation.

We just talk to each other. We've been there with both sets of parents, our son and our grandkids and various combinations. I once took stuff for the kids to do but all that accomplished was take up space in my backpack.

Honestly, we don't spend too much time in line (use FP wisely and return later if the line is too long at the time). We usually talk about what we're doing next or where we are eating for lunch/dinner. :)

I try to keep my twins from killing each other or their little brother ;) It keeps me pretty busy. The kids are kept busy trying to kill each other and DH is kept busy playing with his phone trying to pretend he has no idea who we are :)

So we really try to limit our line time with good planning. With the little kids we talk about the ride we are going on or the ride we just went on and play little games with them.

Talk about the ride, what to do next, etc. Then after that, sometimes we'll strike up conversations with the people in front/behind us.

Waiting in lines is never our first option, our max wait time would be 40min. Anything more than that is just shooting the day

Agree with the poster who mentioned not standing in line much. That's the best way. When we lived down there, we avoided the busiest times at the parks because we could. And we could go whenever we wanted even for a few hours and then when the park got busy, we'd leave.
Mostly we people watched. Disney is as good (if not better than) any boardwalk or beach! Other than people mostly wearing more clothes than on the boardwalk and beach.
The rare times when we actually stood in line without moving -- usually Soarin' if anywhere, we just tried to not bother the people around us and not make a lot of noise or bump into folks.
It's nice not to stand in long lines. Yay for fast pass and close access to Disney.
:cheer2:
P.S. We don't live there any more. Miss it, seriously.

I wait mostly. ;)

Nothing like a good, long line that makes you really appreciate people-watching, though. A favorite hobby, might I add. It's all the more interesting at Disney.

We're another family that just doesn't have to wait in line much. Our waits are short enough that we just talk to each other about what we've liked so far, or what we want to do next. We chat with other people in line. Talk about what to eat, etc. In general, just hang out and enjoy a few relatively calm minutes with each other. **cue cheesy music here**

Mostly just stand there. I'll bug DH about some sort of nonsense, take pictures, talk about what we'll do next.

My family and I people watch and try and figure out where people are from we all take a guess..the problem is we never know who wins :rotfl2:

Talk about what we are doing next or where we want to eat. Sometimes we play "who stepped on the duck?"

When I have to wait in line, my sister and I usually talk about random stuff and if the line's interesting (like TSMM where I once waited 100 minutes), I take photos. Sometimes, because my feet are usually sore, I see how long I can stand on first one foot, then the other. Kind of like a flamingo. But not as attractive.

People watch.

angry birds

I suspect Candy Crush this next time.

This!!! DH and I still share an inside joke about a people watching incident at Test Track 10 years ago :lmao:! I am actually considering packing my Kindle in my purse on our next trip. There will be occasional lines, and it'll just be DH and I. It'll be like a vacation within a vacation!
