A Simple Guide to Making an Autograph Book

So, we are taking our little girls(3 and 6) to Disneyland, and were wondering what is the best way to reach our desired outcome.
We would like them to each collect autograph cards, and then at the end of the trip take their favorites along with pictures, and frame them to hang on their wall, they share a room. I was thinking of 7 rows with 5 columns. That gives them each 12 cards, 5 pictures, and help make a center card(Disneyland 2013 or something).

Questions I have,
• Cardstock or Pictures for Autographs
• 4x6 or 5x7
• Background color of card, (room, is Pink and Purple)
• Background color of matting on frame
• Should they have the character and/or name on them
• Should the cards say 2013 and/or Disneyland on them, or not

I am new to this so if I am missing anything feel free to let me know.

P.s. as we do more trips we hope to move in new cards, and moving the old ones to their keepsake bins.

I see that you marked her here as rare.. but would hate to run into her while dining and not have a special page for her at Akershus. Please let me know if it is possible for you to create one. Thank you SO much!!

So I went to Staples to get pricing and I just put out a random number of 12pgs and they quoted me $30 for them to print, cut, and laminate the cover&back. Does that sound right?

I looked on his list first, but do they all do autographs? Or is there a list on the site I'm missing of who does and who doesn't?

If he has a list of characters that don't sign, I can't find it. I would email him and ask him! :)

I found the Star Wars Weekend thread (I think on the Theme Park board) and they knew.

Thanks! If I find it again, I'll come back and post it over here.

This might be useful if added to the post that lists all the characters currently out and at shows, etc. That way as people prepare each year for Star Wars weekend they won't be as lost as me. :rotfl:

Star Wars Characters That Autograph
Darth Vader, Darth. Maul, Bobba Fett, Jango. Fett, Chewbacca, Queen Amidala, Luke Skywalker, Anakin, Shaak. Tii, Mace Windu, Kitt. Fisto, Assaj. Ventress, Cody, Rex, Leia, Stormtroopers, Clonetroopers, Aurra Sing, Jawas, Ewoks, Gamorrean Guard, R2D2, C3P0, Jedi. Mickey, Princess Leia. Minnie, Darth. Goofy, stormtrooper Donald, Zam. Wessel.

The only ones that dont are the droids

Here is my current list of characters. It is based on who is appearing most often in the parks right now. The rest of the characters are considered "hit or miss", or "rare". I would suggest using this as a core grouping, and be sure to add in several generic pages in case you meet some for the rarer characters. I included a few others in my book that are my favorites. Good luck and have fun with your projects! :thumbsup2

Just wondering, with the character dinners, this says that at Hollywood & Vine that the characters appear at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.....but somewhere else I read that they just appear at breakfast and lunch. Which is correct?

That could be correct. I read through the thread 2-3 weeks ago, I don't recall anyone having Staples (or Kinko's, etc) do the printing and cutting.

The ones I remember did the printing and cutting at home and took it to one of these places to be spiral bound.

Those prices were a lot less (maybe $10??) and included a lot more pages.

Someone might have done what you are suggesting and I just don't recall since I printed and cut mine at home. I have a big stack ready to go, just haven't taken it in yet.

They are not at dinner unless something has changed recently.

Here are your covers :goodvibes:

I don't have pink letters for the princesses, just purple, blue, and green. Please let me know if you would like a different color or cover. Here you go :goodvibes:

Hello there! Loving your stuff! Could I get a personalized book cover for my daughter Serenity. She will be 6 in August and we will be visiting Disney World for the first time for her birthday! I would love something with all the characters and also, do you have an updated list of which characters are likely for autographs. I saw one from 2009 but Since there are over 200 pages, I did not look through them all. Thank you in advance!!!

Sorry to quote/bump this but we leave on Wednesday and I'd need to get to the shop to have it binded in a shop on Tuesday at the latest.

Also can I please have a dining autograph book cover as I have put all our dining pages separate as her normal one is far too big to add more! :) It can be any disney image as we are eating at quite a few of the usual character meals (Akershers, CRT, TH, 1900 PF, CP, CM, Ohanas BFB).

Thanks so much again
Kate

To those making new requests, the original poster of the thread hasn't been on the Dis for a few months. I'm not sure why. You should probably check out some other designs and make a request from someone else. :)

Thank you for pointing that out. I will have a look if I can find where lol. :)

Hi Everyone, I am new to the thread. Excited that I found it because I was thinking of making the autograph book rather than buying a genetic ones, but sad that the original poster no longer doing the designs. Where should I look from now on and how do I download those autograph pages? Thanks!!

We just design on our cover with stickers/scrapbook stuff from Hobby Lobby if I can't find something here to customize.

As far as downloading, the first post has links to cards. Just follow the links and save them to your computer.

There's some great DISigners on here. I've had MarneMouse & Dee Hill make some custom covers and designs. Check out their threads to see their photobucket images, they may already have the names already designed.
Just starting to plan mine, waiting to book my character meals first.

I found Dee Hill's thread and already got my daughter's autograph personalized.

Now I have a question. Am planning to print the autograph pages on matte photo paper for the characters to sign. Anyone ever encounter Mr. Incredible because he uses a stamp instead of hand signing. Will the stamp smudge on the matte photo paper? Thanks.

We've gotten stamps and they are fine. With sharpies and stamps we try to hold the picture open (not touching anything) for a few extra seconds to allow for drying time.
