How to get RSR FP

If we want to go to DCA on a Wednesday (a day with EMH), but we are staying off-site (and thus, do not have access to EMH), and would like to get a FP for RSR... what should our strategy be to get to the line for a FP quickly? Does the wide-right technique help with this at all... or is that only to get to the standby line?

Thanks!

We were there in February. I got in line 45-60 minutes before the started letting in the non-EMH guests...so I was one of the first in the park when they let the general folks in. Wide right wont' help with FPs as you line up on the left to get into the FP line. They let us into the park about 30 minutes before they started distributing FPs. I just went straight to the FP line.

Would it make a difference at all to try to be on the left edge of the crowd?

Another thought.... would it make any sense to not go directly to the FP line on such a morning, and instead take advantage of short lines at other attractions during, let's say, the first hour... then return to get a FP once the majority of people who have been waiting in line since before park opening have moved through the line? Obviously, the FP return time would be later, but assuming that was not a problem, would one actually spend less time in line that way?? :confused3

Thats normally fine BUT RSR FP goes very, very quickly. Sometimes they can be gone after the first hour on a really busy day or sometimes last up to 2-3 hours but I dont think any longer than that unless its a bit slow. My only advice is if you are going to do that then track the progress with a good Disney wait time app or call Otto which is the automatic system that tells you the wait times and showtimes. That way if you know they are going fast you can head back to the FP line. But the best advice is to simply wait in the line when you get in and just get the FP ASAP so you know you will have it.

I wouldn't wait to get your fast pass. When we went in March, we were able to do single rider much quicker than even waiting for a fast pass (the fp line was HUGE). On a Lvl 6 crowd day, the fast passes were gone an hour and a half after opening.

Wide right is only for the standby line.

Best advice is to be at the park 45 min-1 hr before park open and be as close to the front of the turnstiles. After you enter the park, head toward Carthay Circle theater and follow cast member directions to get into the FP line.

Thank you, all!! You are all so helpful as we prepare for our first post-Carsland DL trip!

What is Otto's phone number??

They will start letting you in 30 min before regular park opening, but you won't be alowed on any of the rides, as you will need to show a room key to get to where the EE people are. So, you may as well stand in the Fastpass line, as there's nothing better to do! When we went in Sept (when it was EE every day and we stayed offsite) DH went immediately into the FP line and I took the kids to look in the giftshops. Goofy was walking around, so we waited to see him, and then the FP line started moving at park opening.

If you don't have kids under 7, try the single rider line. That way you won't have to line up to get a FP at all.

The FP line starts at the Carthay Circle, and wraps around by Disney Jr and Animation Building. Just follow it to the end and get in line.

Is it possible for one person in your party to get all FPs for the group even if the whole group isn't in the park? For instance can I send my DH in during EMH while the kid and I stay in the hotel?

One person can get FPs for their entire party using their tickets, BUT, those tickets have to have been scanned at one of the two parks for the day (doesn't have to be the park where the ride is), so it won't work if you two are still at the hotel and haven't entered one of the parks yet.

We've taken advantage of the monorail entrance to scan tickets for people who aren't going into the park yet. They just go through security and the turnstile, then turn around and exit, leaving me their tickets to collect Fastpasses. This was more helpful before FP window closings were enforced.

Remember that you can not get FPs during EMH, although you can get in a FP distribution line which will open when the park does.

We go about every 2 weeks to the park and I have gotten rsr fast passes one time! Then again we never go right at opening, but the one day we did we lined up 30 min before park opened and it was ridiculous and decided I wasn't dping that again.

Single rider is the way to go or our family gets in that line at the end if the night like 20 min before closing and we finish off with that ride. The time always says 90 min or so it seems at the very end of the day but we havent waited more than 30-40 min in a long time. Plus the rest of the park is closing and we didnt waste time in line that we could have used elsewhere.

Whew, glad that occured to me. I would have sent him in to get in line for nada.

Thank you everybody!

I was there a few weeks ago and the park opened at 10. I was in line about 20 minutes before park opening and I got a fast pass for 1:45. Not too bad. I've done fast passes twice and single rider 3 times. Both were the same wait time to me.

Just get to the park 40 minutes before opening to park and by the time you get to the park and in line you will be good
