POR, POP or ASMU

I am traveling with my 5 year old daughter and 2 year old son. My husband will not be with me during this part of the trip. However, my parents, brother, and sister will be at my parent's vacation home to help me. One of them might stay with me at the hotel.

So far I have AoA booked for June 30-July 2
My husband is joining and we will then be at BWV for July 2-3
BLT July 3-4
and then back to BWV July 4-7

I am now needing to book a hotel stay from June 27-June 30. I was going to stay at my parent's vacation house but have decided not to as there would be 11 of us if I did.

Since I will be traveling with a 5 and 2 year old, which resort would be best POP, POR or ASMU

I have stayed at POP before, so I am familiar with the hotel.
Pros- The bus isn't shared with another resort, kid friendly food court that accepts my TIW card, I could walk to AoA to check in on June 30
Cons- I hate the bedding. It is so uncomfortable. I usually stay at the deluxe resorts so I'm a little spoiled.

I have never stayed at ASMU.
Pros- The price is really great, kid friendly food court that accepts my TIW card
Cons- Bus is shared, bed is probably uncomfortable like POP

I have never stayed at POR
Pros- Looks beautiful, kid friendly food court that accepts my TIW card at POFQ (but have to walk or take the bus there), reviews say the bedding is comfortable, loving the boat to DTD
Cons- $100 more than ASMU and $76 more than POP, reviews of the wait for the bus scare me

So what do I pick? Thanks!

I have never stayed at POP but hated ASMu and wouldn't stay there again. Those fold out beds were awful and the place just felt like Motel 6 IMHO. I loved POR and would stay there again in a second. I didn't have a perfered room and our walk was not more than 10 min (probably more like 7 or 8 with little kids). We had to wait for the buses but no more than any of the other times we were at WDW resorts. POR feels like a resort and it is so peaceful and the pool is so much better than ASMu. My kids love POR and ask to go back I am hoping they like CR as much this December! HTH!

We have stayed at both POR(2007) and POP(August). I wasn't overly impressed with POR but it was nice. If we were a couple without kids then it might be more appealing. The only up side I would say for the kids is the pool which has a waterslide. With the kids I would chose POP or ASMu. If your itinerary was mine I would chose ASMu since you can check out POP while you are staying at AoA. My wife was hesitant about staying at POP but loved it.

I would book POR preferred room. I stayed at POP and I hated the beds too !

I would find one resort and stay put. You will be losing so much time packing and unpacking staying at 4 different resorts. We have stayed at AoA and POFQ and I would choose either of those for the entire stay. The family suites are great at AoA, and the grounds are amazing.

Oh my word. This!!!

Having done WDW alone with my kids and even with hubby, I cannot imagine moving around that much with my littles. Such a hassle. Maybe 1 move in that long a stay but 3 or 4?!

I like resort hopping and never find it to an issue. Also, we cannot change our BWV and BLT part of the trip as we rented points from a DVC owner. Plus that is the part of the trip that my dh will be on and he will only stay at deluxe resorts. So without dh being there, it's my opportunity to stay at other resorts that he would never stay at.

Okie. If that's your thing, then who are we to argue! In that case, my vote would be POFQ.

I would vote POP or POR, not ASMU especially if you are traveling with young ones alone. I've been there alone with a kid and I have to say I was very uncomfortable. The resort is very spread out and both trips we were at the back. It was a long walk to the food court and bus. At night is was so dark and we were often only ones walking. I have no issues traveling alone, do it often and I did not feel comfortable there. I ended up driving to the parks. I know it could be anywhere but there was something going on with adults (not a tour group) and security was coming back and forth to our building.

POP we have been to many times and even returned at 2 am with my child from MNSSHP walking through the resort. Never for a minute did I feel unsafe. POR is a beautiful resort with comfortable bedding. We stayed there last fall and used the boat often. We never had any waits for the buses, not on any of our trips and not last fall (and I was there 10 days). For only $76 I would stay there.
