Ladies and gentlemen boys and girls tonigth .......

Ok, I am so confused. I just spoke with a Cast Member today about the cost of adding the Dining Plan to our reservation, and she told me flat out that any new promotions for after 8/14 would not be released until after this current one expires in June. So, how is there going to be a May promotion. She said that Disney will not have two offers running at the same time this year. Any thoughts on this discrepancy?

From what I've read cast members are usually the last ones to be informed of special offers. Even on the day a promotion comes out to the general public, it is not uncommon to call and talk to a cast member that does not know about the offer.

Also, there are 2 conventions going on at the end of August I've been told. Do you think the parks will be more crowded this year than normally at that time due to these conventions?

Didn't see this question yet, but if we booked our trip a few months ago, and paid it all except for $100 balance, can we call CM and just say...Hey, I'm a Disney Visa Card holder ? and have the FD added, or does the trip have to be booked thru Visa ?

We are having a few families traveling with us and I had to call in twice today to make small changes and I asked both cm's I talked to about free dining. I got two different answers...

Did you pay your deposit or at least $200 of your balance with your Disney Visa? If so, you will not need to pay anything else when you call Disney directly.

When a special offer is available to Disney Visa card holders in advance, you call the Walt Disney Travel Company (Disney's central reservations) and make new or changed bookings with them, and you have to use your Disney Visa to make the payments.

I think that's what you're asking about...who you have to contact...

I am curious too, we just booked Aug 29 thru Sept 3..

Orlando is a big city for conventions on a regular basis so I'm not sure how much more of an impact these two conventions will have over any other time of the year. With that said, I think as others have said, that during the day as the convention activities are taking place it won't effect park attendance as much as it will at night once the conventions are over for the day.

There is almost always a room only discount going on at the same time as a free dining discount. You received inaccurate information.

They ARE the last ones. In fact, don't be surprised if you call the first morning the promotion is available and are told they have no idea what you're talking about. Many times they don't even know that first morning. Oh and a lot of them get their info right here.

WOOHOO!!!! :cool1: We are planning on switching hotels when we are there at the end of aug...i am hoping they offer both discounts

This is just my luck....I pushed my wedding back until August 10th in hopes of doing a B2B Disney Cruise first and then a week of FD and being able to spend my honeymoon in something higher than a mod. Of COURSE there's no August FD when you plan like that, lol

I'm sorry if this has already been asked - but here goes :) I am travelling with a group of 4 (all adults) we are staying at the AOA and we have already booked for the week of Sept 8-15th - between two of us we have already paid more than the 200.00 deposit. If our travel agent calls Disney on May 9th to add the free dining or rebook with the dining do we risk losing any of the money that we have already paid?

For what it's worth, I called today to ask about cancelling and booking with a TA to save $600 on our 8/14-8/21 trip. The CM I spoke with suggested that I wait and call back on May 10...

You won't lose any money, but "rebooking" will depend on your current reservation. If you are booked under a room only reservation, your reservation will have to be canceled and you eill have to be rebooked under a package reservation that includes room tickets and dining. They will refund your money, but they will not transfer that money to the new package reservation, and it can take up to 2 billing cycles to receive the refund. You would have to put down a new $200 minimum deposit for the package reservation.

If you are already booked under a package reservation at AOA your TA will simply call and have the FD discount applied to your existing reservation - no rebooking. Even if you had to change resorts and dates, you still wouldn't have to rebook or cancel.

If you are hoping to get a FD discount applied to the Little Mermaid rooms, I would have a back up room category or resort, because I doubt there will be many of those rooms available under the FD promo.

They actually CAN transfer the money but they hate doing it because it calls for more paperwork , so they will tell you they can't. I talked to a CM who told me to insist on it or ask to talk to one who can do it for me and ever since then I have never had an issue and they always transfer the money. But they play dumb because they want as little paperwork as possible.

Hi--apologies if this has been asked already...
We are currently booked in the Poly Club Level. Are those room types eligible for this offer?
Also, when we put in our $200 deposit, we used a different credit card than our Disney Visa. Will we need to put some money on the Disney Visa in order to take advantage of the offer during Disney Visa enrollment time frame?

Thanks in advance!

Dave
