I emailed run disney about upgrading my one day RD ticket to an AP. I was told it could be done at packet pick up! Ill report back when i get back from everest to let you know if it goes smoothly!!

Official policy is that the deeply discounted runDisney tickets are unique in a number of ways, including that they are not upgradeable. If that's changed that would be great news!

I am going to assume that i will just pay the difference between the RD ticket and the AP and that's why it needs to be done at WWoS. No scammin happening!

Disney will be happy to take your money. And it is exactly as you assumed. You will pay the difference between your rD tickets and the full price for an AP. Essentially, your rD tickets are used as a credit towards your AP purchase. There is no money savings doing it this way to get an AP, it just allows you to not lose money.

Exactly! I have just heard others say these tickets were not upgradeable. And all i can think is WHY wouldn't disney want me to invest in an ap?

You must do it at WWoS. I know at DL, the tickets rD are not upgradable as they are sold through a third party, not directly through Disney. If the tickets come from a third party, then they are not upgradable.

Sanapunk, I plan on doing the same thing. DH and I are doing the W&D 1/2 in November and buying an AP now will save us $$ down the line. Plus, we get to join Tables in Wonderland and get AP discounts. I'm still kicking myself for just assuming the RD ticket would be upgradable just like a UT ticket.

BTW, are you doing it at the usual ticket booth at WWoS (that round "hut" outside?") or did they tell you to go somewhere else? Thanks!

I have never been to wwos so i was going to ask at packet pick up where to go. They didn't tell me in the email :/

We are planning to get APs, too and had already purchased tix through RD. Does anyone know if I can have the one-day tickets we bought removed from our room card and save them to use another time (after our APs expire) or if the only way to get back the money on the tix we already bought is to put the purchase price toward the APs. The reason I ask is that we just bought AP vouchers at our local Disney Store. Thx!

Not sure but..buying your ap voucher might have messed you up. Did you book an rd package? How are your tix on your room key?

This should be interesting. I sent RD an email about where to report for upgrading and they replied "Unfortunately, we cannot answer that question here at runDisney. Please check out the Disneyworld.com site for more information."

LOL, oh well.

Turns out, we need our tickets to enter the parks Thursday anyway so I'm thinking I won't be able to upgrade. I'm guessing they will take your unused tickets, not bridge them but apply what you paid towards the cost of an AP. I think someone already mentioned that, but I'm doubting they'll bridge used RD tix. But I don't know what I'm talking about so there's that.

That's what I'm not sure about. We got a RD package with room and ticket this time, but I've never bought a RD package before this (only other run I did we used old non-expiring tix to go to the parks), so I don't know if I will get a traditional KTTW card with room and ticket on it. I'll call RD today and ask, but I would love to know if anyone else has tried to remove a paid-for-through-RD park ticket from their KTTW card.

Curious as to how this worked out for you....

Alright so...They told me they don't upgrade those tickets, and I said I had emailed someone and they told me it would not be a problem. Luckily a girl in the welcome center said "yes, i know you're email!" and told the other girl it was fine to do. So I guess the only reason I got to do it was because I had asked ahead of time!
