Okay, so I'm getting married August 10th. We are doing a Disneymoon, have 2 weeks set aside...
I THOUGHT I knew what I wanted to do in those two weeks...which was Sunday through Thursday on the Dream, a few days in Orlando at USF and SW and Monday through Sat at WDW, resort undecided, but have Coronado booked with Deluxe Dining Plan.
Now, we have debated about different B2B options, driving to Miami for the Fantasy, basically we have contemplated every combination.
I have been to Disney a gazillion times and have sisters that are cast members at DL at WDW...so it's not like I haven't done anything...I guess my dilemma is that I always WANTED to honeymoon at WDW and dreamt about it and am so excited about it...but the cruise just seems so much more honeymooney and fun....and yes we can do both, but 4 nights on the dream doesn't seem like enough...
ALSO, we have a budget around 8 or 9k...also, keep in mind that the ONLY registry we are doing is Disney gift cards and help with the honeymoon...so that may increase easily (never been married before so I'm not sure if people will even abide by this)
Right now, we only have the 4 night booked on the Dream in a Navigator's Verandah (7A, verandah guaranteed) and its about 2400...would you rather do a B2B or a few days in Orlando doing SW, IoA, and USf (never been to any and FDH is a huge Marvel fan)....if we do the B2B, would you consider upgrading to the family oceanview verandah concierge for the second half of the honeymoon cruse (2800 versus 1900 in the same room for the 3 day)...
This would obviously mean a value resort at WDW....I just hate not knowing how much we will get with our registry...we KNOW we want to do stuff in the spa, we just have no idea if we will get to do certain excursions and stuff. And on my honeymoon, the Deluxe DP at WDW just fits so much better as our itinerary would be very different than my usual...lots of dining, shows, taking it easy...
So I have made this more difficult for myself by typing it out...I know the obvious answer is " B2B and the 5 days at WDW!" but its extremely expensive...definitely doable if our wedding guests adhere to our registry...but if they don't...we'd have a big issue....
Last question: if we played it by ear...can you book the 2nd half of your B2B onboard the first? Has anyone ever booked one within a week of sailing?
We are still in the window to cancel anything and everything and rearrange if needed.... I'm thinking about canceling the WDW ressies as they begin Aug 19 and will be in the super low value rates no matter what....
Okay, guys...advice! What would you do with this budget and this time period if you had your honeymoon from August 10-24? And yes, most people off the DISboard's answer has been "Stay far away from Orlando!" but for me...it's gotta be Disney...(yet it does make me sick sometimes that for half of what we are doing at Disney I could have a private villa on a tropical island with my own pool and butler....and I cant even get a hot breakfast delivered on my honeymoon...LOL)
We also haven't booked flights yet as we are discussing driving and using the airfare savings to justify upgrading to concierge if we add on the 3 day...2800 for it is just one of the lowest ive ever seen and its hard to pass up.
Okay enough chit chat...feel free to ask me any clarifying questions....I'm split so many ways and I NEED YOU TO HELP ME MAKE MY DECISION!!
